It was brought up because many of us are praying that the 40K movie CGI will be as good as The Spirits Within or Advent Children (the two FF films).

It will most likely be a direct to dvd release.

I would love a well written and scripted movie. I would love an epic confrontation of galactic proportion.
But what I want, what I really need is WAR. Massed bolter fire. Orks or nids ripping marines in two. Orbital strikes. Space combat.
Drop pod assualts of entire companies. Chainswords going through people. Feth story, I'd watch days of that and never tire. Then there's the potential for duels and last stands and intrigue and it just gets better. I need to write for these guys one day. Thats the dream...ahem

i have to diagree. it needs good story to explain to anyone who dosnt fully understand the 4ok universe(if anyone does at all, that is)

Not really, especially if your core audience is already fans.

FF7: Advent Children was pretty good in this regard.

QFT, The Dark Eldar are much better in my head than they're portrayed in DOW, so they'll be worse in a movie.

why is it about the ultramarines....they're really boring

i dont think a 70 minute film would do the WH40k universe justice, it should be like lord of the rings where every movie is like 12 hours long, or something...
and every race should have an adequate amount of screen time where they are introduced, they fight, and either die or claim victory. I would hate it if the space marines won every battle in the movie, even though i am an avid space marine player, i mean wouldnt it be refreshing if the good guys got kicked around at the climax of the movie? and it should be ultra violent like what saving private ryan did for ww2 movies, i mean hundreds of millions of troops go to war they dont leave with just a black eye....

lets face it...the film is gonna be gak full stop.

I've just seen the butchering trailer of another book I like, the Darren Shan film trailer looks AWFUL! They look like they have butchered it and now my hopes for the 40k film have just gone down like a lead balloon, why make the film crap WHY?!?!?

I shivered in fear when I got to know they were going to put Darren Shan onto the movie screen. I thought for myself: WHY do you hate me SO much, God?

And if I'm correct, this "70min. Smurf movie" will be CGI-Final Fantasy; The Spirit Within good with such a bad plot it will make the remains of the Emperor turn to dust and get blown away by his own fart.
