Hi,
first of all: GW wasn't in the mood to share any news on upcoming products with their fans. Deal with it.
But Forge World has a different approach on dealing with customers, so they led out some tidbits on future products. While the near future is filled with 2 books on Space Marines and Chaos Space marines (see Badab Wars thread), there is a light at the end of the tunnel (information gathered and summarized from the Warseer GD Baltimore thread http://www.warseer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=272593, mostly by dienekes96, who is also posting here):
1.) After the two SM books, Imperial Armour 11 will definitely deal with Eldar fighting Space Wolves, Cadians and Elysians on an Ice planet, release sometime next year. It will include a Phantom Titan around Xmas, Eldar troops and an unnamed eldar light tank which looked sorta like a cross between a falcon and some of their fliers (Sarrazon will soon give us a pic).
2.) At GD UK, Will Hayes will present a new Necron model.
3.) There will be more Chaos and Ork stuff in the future, but nothing concrete about that ATM. Nothing revealed about other armies. Here the "Mother of all Grot Tanks" in the works:
4.) Forgeworld Inquisition/Sisters maybe late next year
5.) They have plans for 40k and Fantasy scenery.
6.) FW Fantasy is a separate team. Nothing revealed ATM, but expect an official announcement in about a month.

It was elaborated at the presentation that future Chaos releases will likely be of the two powers we have not seen yet (Slaanesh and Tzeentch).
Also, they apparently do plan on making a Warlord Titan...but we shouldn't expect anything of it for at least two years.
And, I said it in another thread and I'll say it again, the Lufgt Huron model is fething amazing. I want 12 and I don't even play a Marine army anymore.

While I am excited that my Eldar friends have some love coming and I know that since my Wolves have just received a new (amazing) codex I almost feel bad for asking if anyone has heard of any new Space Wolf Forgeworld goodness.
Now that I am over almost feeling bad. Did anyone ask about new Space Wolf stuff? There were rumors that FW may attempt the Thunderwolf Calvary. I can think of nothing better than an IA book to release those bad boys. I may now have to wait on some of my ideas if there is new coolness on the horizon.

No-one asked about the Space Wolves because the general consensus when the words "Space Wolves" were mentioned was an amaglamation of "BOO!" and "UGH!" A sentiment with which I completely agree.

Since when? Just because you don't like an army doesn't mean it shouldn't get support, especially when one of the best units in the codex doesn't even have a model.

Since the seminar. When pretty much everyone at the seminar keyed in together in an amaglamation of "BOO! and "UGH" at the mention of the Space Puppies. That's why no-one asked for more info on them. Because honestly, only a very small portion of the crowd cared.
Even the Forge World representative giving the presentation was like "I know...I know...but the head of GW happens to be a Space Wolf player."

Bob is wrong. Someone asked about the Space Wolves. Tony said there was a list of potential releases, but nothing had been decided yet. The Wolves are going to get a few releases, but he wasn't ready to go into detail yet. After seeing the SC's for the Badab War, I'd kill for some FW infantry and a FW character. Maybe even some Fenris wolves.
But yes, the SW got groans. I guess their name is more silly and cheesy than Dark Angels or Iron Warriors. But it doesn't matter . Because I will be getting FW love in the next year. So suck it, haters.

Why would they do that? If something goes wrong in mass production, distribution, etc--you end up with even more whining from the Dark Eldar community than you already see.
Not committing is the best way to avoid bad publicity, since it means you can't be held to missing a set date--because you never gave one!
Anyways, I think my Cadians are on hold now. Fingers crossed for 'arctic' kit Elysians/Cadians!

FFG do not pretend that there are no upcoming Dark Heresy, Rogue Trader or Deathwatch books - in fact, they released three PDF's explaining all the books that they are going to make. What they do do is not announce release dates until they are 100% sure. That is the prudent thing, as to avoid disappointment should there be a delay in printing, shipping, or even in development. Games Workshop on the other hand won't even tell you what they're doing. Ever. It's not about getting release dates, it's about knowing that they exist. Blizzard, FFG, Catalyst, PP and a whole stack of other companies (in fact, I'd say most commercial companies) reveal what they are doing (or some of their plans) ahead of time, and they get people hyped up - Christ, even Forge World does it!!! - GW pretends they're doing nothing, lies that there are upcoming products, never reveals anything, threatens staff with sackings if they discuss upcoming releases and generally feths around looking like complete fething clownshoe amateurs. So lose the "it's in case of delays" endless tireless GW defense nonsense Kan. You're sheer love of this company DEFIES reason.

Don't you think it makes more sense for a company that sells products to generate interest in said products by letting their customers (and potential customers) know what products they plan to make? Imagine if movies came out but there were never any advertisments or trailers for them? Or if car companies just put out new cars without so much as a word in the local paper. Maybe fast food companies can have special deals and limited time only offers, but, y'know, not advertise that fact.
It would be stupid, wouldn't it?

This is true, but a bit of information or at least a statement as blatant as "We're making (insert army here) for (insert quarter here). More info will soon follow, so please be patient." is better than no information at all.
On that note, I vote that this be made into a new topic if we are to continue this conversation; instead of going off topic in this one.

I heard that.
In fact, if they read a lot of these forums, I doubt they have a whole lot of good will toward the "loyal fanbase." Maybe, just maybe, the guys at GW just think that they make models to play a game with and not to build a lifestyle around.

Well, if they were at all intelligent they would have good will towards their fanbase, since, you know, it's that fanbase that buys their stuff and gives them money?
Maybe, just maybe, the guys at GW will stop being so secretive about every little thing, act like every other functioning company on the planet, and give their consumer an idea of what to expect from the company they pour their money into? It doesn't do much to make models to play a game if you're consumer is left in the dark as to what the hell you're selling. They'd make much more money if they would just let us know. There's no logical reason behind such secrecy.

As usual Kan, that is utter bs. Complete bs from a rampant GW apologist. And an absolute lie.
Blizzard does not deny the existence of Starcraft II (before it came out), or the fact that they're making Diablo III.
Blizzard is infamous for not putting release dates on things until they are absolutely certain everything is a go, I think that is what he's trying to say. They never start a patch/expansion for their games and give it a release date. "Soon" or "When its ready" could both be trademarked by Blizz.
And Blizzard is pretty secretive. Look for details on their next gen mmo thats been in the works twice as long as the 40k MMO for confirmation on that. Hell, everyone thought "The Emerald Dream" would be the expansion after Lich King and they revealed Cataclysm. When they revealed that both Starcraft II and Diablo III were in the works, they were secretive up until it was official on their website, offering no comment on what they were working on, although it was fairly obvious at the time (promising a big reveal in Korea where Starcraft is the national pastime).
Why is it so offensive that GW is super secretive, anyway?

But that's exactly what they have said about DE. In fact, it's the only thing they have ever mentioned about it. In the Design Philosophy podcast interview with Jes Goodwin he said he was working on DE and they would be released when they are ready. That's it.
While I do agree it would be great if GW adopted the approach of FW and just let the fans know what was coming down the pipeline. But that's not the case. It sucks, but really it's more annoying reading all the people complaining about it and crying when the next release isn't for their favorite army, like they are entitled to have their goodies before anyone else. And that's exactly what has happened with the FW seminar. They let people know what's coming and all they do is complain about Marines getting all the love, even though marines have really not had a ton of FW support until now.
Anyway, in regards to the topic at hand - for those of you who attended would you care to elaborate on what was discussed about the future Chaos releases? Did they specifically mention Slaanesh and Tzeentch as a possible focus or was it just implied? I'm just curious what details were given, if any.

It was said that when they got back to Chaos, they had the two other gods (Tzeentch and Slaanesh) to focus on. So yeah, outright said that Tzeentch and Slaanesh will get their day in the limelight, only question is when.

I went to Dan Abnett's seminar and here's what I got. Prospero Burns is the HH sequel to 1000 Sons, told from a Space Wolf perspective. SPOILER! Magnus turns to chaos! There is an end in site for the HH series, he talked about doing the final battle as a trilogy by 3 different authors telling the same story from different points of view. But there are a lot of twists between now and then. SPOILER! Horus may turn to chaos! THe current Gaunt's Ghosts arc is NOT the last one, it is called Victory but he won't say whose. It will run 4 books and he has at least 1 or 2 after. BL will launch a new online magazine called Hammer and BOlter (IIRC) which is similar to the old Inferno mag. The first issue at least is free and will mix new and established BL authors. Eisenhorn will get a book of short stories, then he will start work on Ravenor vs Eisenhorn next year (much applause at that).
