After flirtation with almost every game system under the sun I have returned to the army that started it all for me, Orks!
To kick off my return I have decided to do something crazy. Something not many - if any have done before.

It starts with this, my Christmas present to myself:

Now I can feel your desire to put a reassuring hand on my shoulder and lead me away from all the sharp and dangerous implements
on my hobby desk, towards, say, a nice safe padded room.
Just like I can hear you saying "Z that's ABOR, all of us have painted one of those"
To which I would reply; "Get your stinking paws off me you damn dirty ape! And its Mr Ray to you"

For ABOR is but just a convenient box to contain my insanity.

This Box contains every component from one of every currently available Ork plastic set
(with two exceptions the war-trak because it's rubbish and the war-buggie because it's awesome and deserves special treatment)
Every Part has been clipped from the sprue and the whole box has been given a shake for good measure.

I plan to make whatever comes to mind using whatever bits I find.

This Blog may be slow to update or may get updated several times in one day as I get inspired or distracted.

Weeks may go by with no word until you fear I have died in a freak beard fire accident
only to be revived with pictures of untold glory.

Or I may flood the thread with step by step pictures of every one
of 3000 rivets I added to the boots of every ork in the army.

Who knows what the future may hold.

All those big stompa bits made digging around the bits box a pain, they had to go
and I had the perfect Idea what to make with them ... a Stompa! (so simple it's brilliant, or not.)

So Starting from the ground up I spent the last week making...the right foot.

I never felt the stompa feet looked, well, stompy enough
and remembering the old waaagh spell "Foot of Gork" and it's foot shaped blast template
I went for a foot shaped foot ( I know, out of the box thinking at it's finest)

I made five toes at first, however it made the foot wider than it was long
so I tried extending the heel, but then it had the same "footprint" a a rhino.
The stompa looked like a 3 year old wearing his dads bear feet slippers.

So I scrapped it back to four toes and its still a bit big.

Going to start on the legs which should fill out the heel more with detail.

If that's the size of just one foot, that is gonna be one big ol' Stompa. I smell epic-ness.

Thanks for all the encouragement
I got distracted finding the bits for the left foot and made this:

Still Needs greenstuff to make the parts mesh a bit more.
I am thinking of trading the helmeted head for the bare one with iron gob from ABOR,
It's looking a little to robotic for my tastes at the moment.

I love it just the way it is!

I like the current head, but swapping it won't hurt anything. If you want to de-robotify (I just made that work up ) a little bit, try add more spikes, and rough up some of the edges to make the look more worn and orkish.

Yes, I certainly can't wait for the right foot. And that Warboss looks ork-ishly fantastic.

The pen is mightier then the sword, but you must keep a sword handy for when the pen runs out of ink.

You could add a large right-side Ork arm, and the attach the Shootas to the wrist. I would be a ridiculous gauntlet-style mounted weapon, but Orks are able to pull off completely ridiculous weapons

I think that would balance it out if you still think it's to robotic looking.
