PS, taking down 4chan is not cool. They might be weird, they might be anti-establishment, but they have done both good and bad. I fully support the movement, and think that this is just another example of the increasingly draconian control over information that the government extends.

I don't know if I want to jump ahead THAT far. I'd not expect a DDoS from them. They seem much more likely to do a 3 letter acronym style raid on whatever datacenter the 4chan servers are running in and just confiscate the hardware. It's a much more permanent solution, and it better broadcasts a solid message to anyone out there who's watching.

This seems almost more a direct retaliation.

Well Verizon has attacked em before. I'm sure they don't really care....probably stuffing cheetos in their mouth while they level their Goblin Shaman.

I'm not at all suprised, and since they tend to get all overexcited about things and take down other people's sites all the time, it was probably only a matter of time til someone retaliated.

Also, its entireyl possible that some folks in a portal thought it would be good fun to take down 4chan even though they use the site. Anon is nothing if not chaotic.
