Ummm. Your basing skills show that this isn't your first model.
I doubt that entirely If they are your a lucky so and so. If they're not then they're still very good.

Those are so good that I want to call you a troll.

But I'll take your word for it, and simply laud you for your incredible talent! You run circles around my relatively-new-at-painting backside!

Did you do a lot of research before you put brush to mini?

I like the color scheme.

but I think you need to work on the heads a little more, the eyes and the teeth are the same color as the rest of the skin.

Well painted, but the eyes, teeth, tongue need to be a different colour to the main body.

Those are coloury sparkling nids! As mentioned reminds alot of 2nd edition.

I can't believe these are your first. Very good paint job. I don't like the colours so much personally but I still think they look great!

What you may want to try out is shading or blacklining.

why?

I don't want to be human! I want to see gamma rays! I want to hear X-rays! And I want to - I want to smell dark matter! Do you see the absurdity of what I am? I can't even express these things properly because I have to conceptualize complex ideas in this stupid limiting spoken language! But I know I want to reach out with something other than these prehensile paws! And feel the wind of a supernova flowing over me! And I can know much more! I can experience so much more. But I'm trapped in this absurd body!

lol cheers for all the kind words... i am not a troll i assure you, i picked up my minis around 2 months ago roughly...

i have spent alot of those 2 months painting, so i have put alot of time and effort into them....

as for the bases.... i own reptiles aswell and i like to make their tanks look as natural as possible so im used to doing stuff similar i guess because of that, just use alot less glue for the reptiles lol....

i will need to go over my models doing the eyes, teeth and tongues!.

thank you for all the tips youve given me =] =]

and im really not liying... these really are my 1st minis (for those who dont believe me)

Wow. For your first models, they're pretty awesome.

The eyes and teeth need defining though.

Very, very good work. I am very impressed at your 1st army, you will no doubt become a superb painter very quickly judging from this solid start.

Makes me wonder if it's because of the quality of all the Articles and advice on the Internet. I think my early attempts 20 years ago were poor because I didn't prime, I didn't thin paints and I didn't have decent brushes. It seems the advice and techniques, you tube tutorials seem to have raised the bar and beginners seem to flourish quickly because of this? Who knows eh?

Yeah, it seems people are reasearching places before they paint their figs and not after they try their first attempt.

I think the next generation of painters is going to produce some pretty awesome stuff.

I agree with all the support from the internet.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/433062.page

These are my first minis and while they are nowhere near golden demon they are above just 'tabletop standard' and alot of the techniques I used were from the internet and painting guides. The citadel mins painting guide went along way to help me.

Great job on the nids. Keep up the good work, looking forward to seeing more from you.

P.S. The google bugs are Great!
