What I want to do to these guys might be considered...unnatural.

The anti-gay Westboro Baptist Church intends to picket the funeral of the two Powell boys murdered Sunday by their father, blaming their deaths on Washington state's legalizing of same-sex marriages, The News Tribune in Tacoma reports.

Occupy Seattle plans to counterdemonstrate.

Gov. Chris Gregoire is likely next week to sign the measure, which finished clearing the Legislature on Wednesday.

Margie Phelps, daughter of the Westboro Baptist Church's founder, tweeted Wednesday night that members of the small Topeka church will be at the Saturday morning service for Charlie, 7, and Braden, 5. She wrote that the protest is to "remind" Gregoire "they died because of her rebellion," a reference to her support of same-sex marriages, the paper writes.

Later, in a tweet referencing a news story about legalizing same-sex marriage, Phelps wrote, "This is why God's cursed you w Josh Powells blowing up kids."

Westboro came to prominence by picketing U.S. military funerals with provocative signs, which courts have upheld. The church, consisting mostly of the Phelps family, blames troops' deaths on U.S. tolerance for homosexuality.

Occupy Seattle said its members don't intend to disrupt the funeral, but want to "protect it from Westboro's abhorrent message," the News Tribune writes.

ABC News has a video interview with the boys' social worker about their final moments. After she dropped them off at their father's home for a supervised visit, Josh Powell attacked the boys with a hatchet before blowing up his gasoline-soaked house.

Logs of the social worker's 911 call show an eight-minute delay in sending sheriff's deputies to the house in Graham, Wash.

I disapprove of their actions. Still. And I will mostly likely still disapprove of them the next time they pull a stunt like this. I will also then wonder, as I am now, why people continue to give them the attention that they so obviously crave.

Phelps was doing this type of stuff long before the lawsuits started rolling in. It seems like a case in which there are actual beliefs motivating the actions of WBC, and laws conveniently allowing them to make money while doing so.

There used to be a group of bikers who would protect funerals against these goons. Wonder if they were still around. If I had money for a plane ticket I would go out there buy myself a bat and some nails and get to work

They don't all hang out together, so it it is VERY likely there will be some left to sue.

These folks are hate filled crap bags, but they are not worth getting sued or brought up on assault charges for. As much as I would like to stand with my brother veteran bikers and stomp mudholes through some Westboro douche, it really is not worth the time. Causing/participating in a loud and violent incident at the funeral is disrespectful to the family of the fallen trooper. Best to just stand the line and keep the loons at distance.

Support and or ride with your local/state PGR guys. You'll see that the Westoboro crowd stays on their side of the line. In almost all cases the family never even sees these tools.

There was one recent incident where the Westboro van somehow got two flats, and unfortunately for them no tire shop or garrage was able to help them. A real 'Feel Good' story.

I really am surprised no one has pulled a DC sniper on them since they announce where they are going to be much in advance.

Some might argue this says something about the "black rights movement," or that it says something about the "gay rights movement."

WBC are just Trolling for God.

The home secretary barred them from the UK.

Louis Theroux spent some time with them making a documentary and they came accross as simplistic bigots when talking about anything they thought the Bible forbids. They seem to pick and choose lines from the Bible just like all other churches.

They do have a logic to what they do: Everything that happens is God's will and should be celebrated. Even the bad stuff is God's will and so should be worshipped as much as the good stuff.

They just do the most offensive things they can because they want others to realise that bad stuff happens because most people don't follow the word according to WBC.

this is also how they make money, they get people to sue them, and they win the case 9/10 time. it's quite easy to be human garbage it seems, since when steve jobs died, they made a bunch of tweets.... wait for it........
