Is there a law against putting a giant temporary wall infront of people who are protesting. It isnt impeding their right to freedom of speech, just not letting use the the little

Already being done. PGR are the wall. And I strongly suspect the Westboro folks can't breach that wall.

Agreed. Hard to get louder than a large mass of motorcycles, no matter how crazy the WBC is.

Isn't that the basis of our foreign policy?

I kid.

Hoewver I don't think anyone is expecting a sane responsible gun owner to "cap them",.

it just would be refreshing if one of the many crazy criminal gun owners could take a few minutes out of his busy schedule..

Thats all...

Clearly, gun ownership doesn't work.

But but but...gun owning societies are oh so much more prone to violence...*cough*

Besides, it would be even worse in the UK. Where burglars can sue for damages when they hurt themselves braking into a house.

No you can't.

Here you can unfortunately.

I'm going to start citing Fred Phelps' continued life as the ultimate proof that American gun owners aren't like to go blasting people willy-nilly.

They also don't like actually taking the bible literally for that matter.

Unfortunately, unless they initiate violence, or start saying slanderous things, there is nothing that can be done. They are perfectly within their rights to sit at funerals and shout hate. People need to understand that silencing people, even if they're spouting a stupid and unpopular message, is a slippery slope.

The difference being that WBC doesn't break the law.

They're awful, terrible people, but they're awful within legal boundaries.

I feel sorry for the kids though. They will never have a normal life. It will be impossible for them to get a job because of their history with the church and there thinking is skewed.

Agreed.

Maybe when he is nineteen he is gonna realize he is homosexual and cause his family sweet sweet suffering. That would be the best happy ending tbh...

No they aren't. Funerals are private affairs, almost invariably held on private property of some sort.

Well, most graveyards here aer private anyway. There's some public ones but those are, actualy, protected from such miscreants. Freedom of speech only goes so far, and always has been such.

There would be nothing willy-nilly about shooting Fred Phelps. Maybe that's why nobody has done it. Getting your conviction reduced to temporary insanity or accidental shooting would be nigh on impossible.

You could only get away with temporary insanity or accidental shooting if you only wounded him but were otherwise know as a person of sound mind and a good shot.

Then I have the solution!
Someone needs to clean their gun next to Fred and the gang!
People almost always get shot while cleaning a gun! No charges
would filed due to it being an accident of course....

They probably all give each other jobs anyway, that's how you maintain an inward looking cult mentality.

That's the problem. Nobody would believe someone who said they shot Phelps ' by accident'.

Doupt it. The church is falling apart, when its founder dies so will it. A church requires an influx of members more then just popping them out.
