I understand why the arms are so small, but seriously, they look ridiculous.
The suit's amazingly done and he couldn't figure out a way to fix the arm proportion problem like the Grey Knight guy did?

I spotted this ginormous Warhammer 40K costume over on Dezilith’s DeviantArt page, and it is truly epic. It was made by Daniel Høgh (Boltshells) and Justina Šniukštaitė (Roses) over at Roses and Boltshells, who make custom props and cosplay accessories, and it truly shows off how amazingly skilled they are at their trade.

The interesting thing is if you look at the pics of the guy with helmet off standing next to a guy in casual clothes, you can see the size of the "Space Marine" which to me looks about 7 feet 9 inches going by measurement off the screen of the two guys. Assuming the casual guy is 6 feet tall.
However, the guy in the suit obviously a normal human, bulked out by the suit, so that indicates to me that a "real space marine" would be well over 8 feet to be in proportion to the suit. Although his head would still look small, of course.
arms are small so his hands can still work. most suits ive seen have used arm extentions to make them more proportional. I believe he wanted to keep use of his hands. I like it. To each his own I guess.

Agreed, but I think it still looks good. I'd like to see an optional power fist he could attach. Now, that would make it neat
I only half glimpsed the top of the suit when I loaded this thread, and thought it was some cool artwork and then... wow... that's real. Amazing work. The attention to detail is amazing.

It really shows how cumbersome a real suit would be.
I like it without the helmet. Gives it a more realistic feel.

Just don't trip. I don't see how you could get back up. It would be like an armored turtle on its back, with a thunder hammer...
Will you be making a storm shield to go with the thunder hammer?

On a side note; VERY nice to see a place where virgin-jokes and hate-comments are not that frequent
I thought the use of home depot-ish plastic conduit was pretty clever , how did you do the boots? Did you do the standard-seeming papercraft, then foam/fiberglass or something for the body?

The suit is 99% foam, save for the odd plastic tube and heraldy made in resin/clay I don't do well with papercraft and fiberglass - way too messy and time consuming.
The boots are pretty much just platforms - layers upon layers of hard density foam with solid boots inside

The only thing I don't like about the suit are that the arms, seem a tad too short. It might just be because he's holding thunder hammer in both hands. I think they need a storm shield to complete it.
I do really like the suit, other than that small criticism.

Regarding the actual topic of this thread; not my cup of tea but fair play to the lad. There was some constructive criticisms posted over on Heresy that seem to have been painted over as 'hating'. But meh, whatever. Have fun building!

Just wanted to post this again. This guy seems pretty awesome at 40k art too. Hopefully we'll be seeing a more regular appearance of his work on Dakka.
An absolutely awesome Chaos Sorceror, based on the old Chaos Sorceror from what I can tell. Just love the detail on him.
