Now we can of course make Humani immortal, but that is a gift not ot be handed out, almost all Immortal's I have heard of provided a service or saved the lives of their Elder Master before being made Immortal.
Sometimes it is even accidental, there was woman I heard of named Joan of Arc, she was made Immortal after a blood transfusion with Scathach

*Leo sighs*

I understand... why do you not make humans immortal? Risk of overpopulation?

Iris: To first become immortal, a Humani must be awakened, that process is not only dangerous, but potentially fatal.
It also grants the humani great powers, powers that if misused could lead to many deaths
We must be selective, or else Immortals like Dr. John Dee and Attila the Hun could bring about genocide, in fact, some already have.

Gharn: I... I heard a voice... it spoke to me about... being a failure, about not avenging my parents, I remember being angry, so angry and then... next thing I remember Maiev has her hoof against my throat and is asking me why I tried to kill her...
*Looks severely shaken at everything and draws his knees against his chest, the, hugs them with his good arm*

*Kara tightens her hug and showers Maiev with kisses*
