Crazy Ivan - Can I ask what lighting setup you use for your pics? You always seem to have a very smooth and natural looking light in your pics, really shows the minis off nicely.
Thanks I mostly use daylight i also have a light tent for when i can't take photos in daylight bought one of these which comes with two halogen lights and a tent
One thing that is important is to get the white balance right and the auto functions for that is not always very good so try the manual/custom option if your camera has that option. Also try different backgrounds a darker background seems to bring out the colours more.
@AduroT thanks i like your Morats the colour scheme fits them really well.

I've been painting. I've got a tournament tomorrow, and I decided to not only bring one of the least capable ITS sectorials in the game, Hassassins, I decided to bring a list with a bunch og stuff I haven't painted. And they have a 100% painted rule. So over the last 3 weeks, I've painted more Infinity models than I have the rest of the year. Including a few that intimidated the gak out of me. I introduced a new brown to my colour scheme due to some new details in gear I hadn't done before. The leather brown I do would have been too much everywhere. Photos are dark because I've just finished and it's 10pm and I'm tired and feth I have to get up at 7am to get there. So, first up, some hacking backup for my Barid - a Ragik Hacker. Next, a Lasiq Sniper. This model I was always afraid to paint because it's so nice. I don't think I did it justice, but I like the result except for the gun which I was rushed on. Finally, some Ghazi. These models are so detailed, I was afraid to paint them at all. But I pressed on and got them done. The Jammers are a bit sloppy, but I was running out of time.

A bit of a repost of my stuff, but the models I finished the other night in some decent light. I generally take photos before the matt coat for some reason, so I never have the tufts on the bases. Now they do. Spoilered since they're basically reposts.

Thanks. The Pan-O were pretty easy to airbrush although I'm not sold on the point of light effect, so I think I might just use it for base and initial highlights in the future.
The Nomads were a bear with the airbrush...trying to find a red that flowed well without clogging took me a really long time, until I found Army Painter Pure Red worked very well, but it wasn't quite the rich shade of red I wanted.
All in all though, I absolutely loved painting these figures. The details are so crisp and well defined that you can really thin your paints down and layer without a lot of touchup.

What I've heard of some of the better/best painters (always subjective, of course) they seem to use the airbrush to a point and use the brushes as well. Kind of a tag team. For me, I have never had a chance to really get into using the airbrush steady enough to try out such techniques, I pretty well stick to base coating and get stuck in with the brushes.
I also don't turn out models that are quite so pretty
The PanO definitely have that 'hey we got airbrushed' look, but it's not a bad look at all, especially not for Infinity.

Still a bit of a WIP since I don't know what I want to do about the base and feel parts of her need to be a lot smoother, but since I'm running out of steam I thought I'd post her. If nothing else I had a lot of fun with the hair using the PP guide for elf hair, comes with plenty of cool ways to do punk-ish coloured hair.

I have just finished painting my first Infinity minis. Some of the process went a lot better than expected, but the finish was not quite as good as I had hoped.
My first attempt at a glow (the LEDs) worked, and better than planned. My first attempt at eyes does not look as creepy as I thought it would The colours generally worked better than I expected, so I am confident to use a very similar plan for the special weapon Alguaciles.
I used too light of a grey when highlighting the black (eg around the boots). I will need to darken in a little next time to improve the look there.
The highlights on the clothing look more like the clothes are dirty than an attempt at highlighting. Not entirely sure what I did wrong there!
I attempted to imitate the way Angel Giraldez does the guns. It may look easy, but my attempt shows me that it is harder than it looks.
My first attempt at NMM does not even look like I attempted NMM I will have to go back to the examples before my next try!
I am not happy with the African skin tone. It was very much trial-and-error and there was a lot of error along the way!

Like your bravery trying the different skin and hair colours.
Obviously you improve through experimentation, but from my perspective it certainly looks very good!

Thank you.
I really wanted to follow the fluff of Corregidor being originally from Africa and South America. I had no experience in doing this, but I used online guides to get the basic idea. I also love how Angel Giraldez paints the Nomads with crazy hair colours and wanted to imitate that. I am mostly happy with the blue and green, but think I will slightly darken the pink next time.

I have now completed my special weapon Alguaciles too. I am happier with the black this time. Still not great, but definitely better. I need to darken the highlights on the African skin tone next time, and I am not happy with how I did the bald head. Still not happy with the highlights on the red. I think I am using the wrong colour for it, but am not yet sure what to do. I think I layed the glaze on a little too thick around some of the LEDs too, which I will need to keep in mind for future.

The Vallejo Game Color range has five skin tones. I usually pick two "adjacent" ones and use those as base and highlight colour. That gives me four different skin tones without even having to mix anything.
As for the red, that's an interesting effect. I'd perhaps use a more red-orange for the mid-tone highlight, but other than that it looks good. With mine, I tried to paint the fatigues and armour plates slightly differently to keep them looking like distinct textures. I went from red to orange and then added a touch of Dwarf Flesh as the final highlight.

For the plates, I used Bloody Red as a base, layered Bloody Red+Orange Fire over the raised surfaces, then used a Carroburg Crimson wash into the recesses. To this point I was happy with the effect. I used Bronze Fleshtone for the highlight and was not happy... perhaps Dwarf Flesh would be better? I will try that next time! Thanks for the suggestion.

I would suggest taking a look at Beast of Wars Romain tutorials that he posted on Middle East skin tones. He did a couple tutorial videos painting Kingdom Death miniatures that can apply. Part 1 - Part 2 They really helped me out a lot.
