Thanks, everyone.

He does look the action hero. I have made a mental link between him and The Paladin/Grendel Prime from Grendel:War Child. Especially since deciding on the head.

The inside of the helmet is hollowed out a bit, but most of the space is taken up by fingers, so no detail there. I did drill out the breathing tube. This detail will most likely be missed, as it is barely noticeable while unpainted. Painted, it will disappear.

EDIT: Blast. Page flip. Better paint something quick. Here's Judy again.

Thanks, I use something similar, so I have the tools, but really need to work on my skills Might snatch that handlettering book from my wives book shelf...

Great Caesar's ghost... Seems like it has been a while. Between real life and dragging my feet, these last few guys took a bit to wrap up. BUT!

Another DW Terminator finished. More on the rest in a minute.

Also the Imperial Fists Captain. Heck of a mini. Straightforward Space Marine hero stuff. Glad to have it in the collection.

And finally, the Contemptor is done. Faito Gerron of the Angels of Truth. Formerly a member of the 1st Company Vanguard. Took a too-near miss from a Starcannon that left him medium rare and unable to fight on as he had. Stabilized on the battlefield by the Apothecary, he held on long enough to be interred and now serves hot autocannon death to heretics alongside Ossus. 8 autocannons, no waiting. Real glad this guy is done. Seemed to drag on.

And a couple WiP pics. Including the rest of the DW Terminators, whose bodies are all done...

They just need to be...armed.

Plenty to do. Thanks for looking!

That terminator captain is one of my favourite old sculpts, such a rad model. Loving the hazard stripes on the chainfist and nice bit of fluff to accompany Faito Gerron, he turned out great

Those Deathwing look really cool and dirty! Excellent scheme choice. Loving the Imperial Fist Captain, great mini with and awesome paint job! The legs with purple armour look fantastic too. Great update!

Adore that Imperial Fists Captain, the armour and power sword are especially good. The most amazing thing to me is probably the most perfect storm bolter barrel drilling that I have ever seen! My main fear on drilling bolter is always going a bit wonky or not quite straight...you nailed it here.

Love the Contemptor. Was it much work replacing the lazy, poorly detailed head on the original sculpt? I assume that head is from the Venerable Dread kit? The freehand on the scroll work looks great.

Nice to see more Deathwing done as well, he is not far from having 4 more battle brothers with him as well. Loving the purple on Thunderthighs Mcgee as well...you can never have too much purple.

More great progress youwashock.

Are you keeping new acquisitions down so that your to-do pile is getting lower?

Thanks, everyone!

ListenToMeWarriors, replacing the head was no problem. Just slice off the old one and carve out the alcove to fit. It let me get a better face in there, and have him not staring straight ahead. The base model is so stiff, anything helps.

Cap'n, I buy pretty sporadically. A couple minis here, a couple there. It still adds up, but not as much as buying squads or games worth. Incoming now are just the limited Sister and Terminator from months ago. Only plans to buy are a few CAV minis because a friend wants to try it and the expected new Lelith Hesperax whenever or if ever that happens. Unfortunately, I had no such restraint in past years, and if I never buy another model I could live for a hundred years and not finish them. Minor exaggeration.

Thanks for the comments, guys!

That sounds familiar. Almost as if you're talking about me...

Nice work on those old Termies. As I've grown older, I've really come to appreciate the wonky proportions of the models I grew up with. Keep 'em coming!

Now showing a Harlequin Dreadnought!

Painting total as of 4/25/2024: 33 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

Great stuff!
The sword on the Captain is a sure winner. The purple works perfectly with the yellow armor.
I like the subtle weathering on the Contemptor. The autocannons also look like they have been fired more than a few times, great effect!

Thanks for the comments, you guys! Highly appreciated.

Quick pic of new arrivals. Pretty much know what I will do with the Sister. The Librarian I threw in to get free shipping? Less. However, he has potential, so we shall see.

Purple gal is done, awaiting varnish. DW pair almost there. Zoat in the mix.

Well a toast to getting the models you have finished.

Looking forward to what you are going to do with the Sister.

A great looking pair of legs there, looking forward to seeing the rest of her! And as others have said, that power sword on the Imperial Fist termie is glorious!

A suggestion for the Terminator bases, if it's not too late: maybe add some loose cables on there for added interest.

Great envy on your delivery. We Europeans seem to have to wait a little bit longer, but hopefully September will see Sister and Terminator arrive at my door too.

Thank you!

mcmatilla, it's too late. I had planned to do more with the bases, and if you look back at the Genestealers that are done, they have more going on, detritus, pulled up panels, etc. Then I realized that I didn't feel like going through that extra prep for these guys. Maybe for some more of the Genestealers, but for the Terminators I decided I could live with just the mesh.

And speaking of which, here's two more Deathwing. Two more to go. I am pretty sure the one guy's load-out was legal at some point. He's just for fun, anyway. An homage to earlier days. And the result of having one extra Terminator and too many heavy weapons.

Great shot of that mold line. Eh, maybe it's a panel line. It isn't.

Also finished the first lady from Limbo Division. Hayley Barrett, Anti-Material Rifle Gunner. Whatever that means.

She makes a nice first impression for the company. I may look to buy more of their minis in the future. Their next model doesn't really do it for me, but they have more on the way, I hear.

In other news, I may have done something...rather rash. Few bad weeks at work and the general gloom of existence these days prompted me to buy a lot of models to smash together into a small force of Exodites. Inspired by the rather excellent minis that show up here, I decided to try my own take. I had a squad of Dragon Knights in 2nd, which have since been stripped and disassembled to await he day of inspiration. Maybe they will get re-done soon, too. I have a selection of box sets and extras that will be brought into play with this project, as well. Wyches, Triumvirate, Scourges, Harlequins, Cauldron, White Lion Chariot plus whatever else I can find. Have plans for a Carnosaur, Drycha-nought, some Wraithguard, unit of dragons and a couple small bands of fighters based on the Blood Bowl Wood Elves. Could be a disaster. Certainly no need here for taking on a project of this magnitude for no purpose other than to build and paint the models. Wasn't cheap, even shopping around. Will certainly disrupt current plans. But I hope to remain diligent, and to wrap up a couple small things before getting started. Time will tell, but currently excited to get to it. So much for not adding too much to the pile.

As always, thanks for looking!

Hayley is a great paintjob. I agree with Maxwin in that I rather see a monkey wrench than an amr. Maybe a nod to Firefly's Kaylee, the mechanic.

So many heavy weapons, so little time.

Very nice work on that limbo division model, I'm a huge fan of your colour picks. I'm tempted to get some from them as well since the aesthetic makes me think of sci-fi kingdom death and I did enjoy painting one KD model I got. Good to hear your positive review of them.

Also: So freakin stoked to see an exodites project!
