Sicarius is Duke Nukem.

Does anybody see how to make a Scout Speeder from those sprues? I can't see it.

Suprised at the amount of moaning on the new dex cover.

Who cares?

Ultimately its the rules and figs that will sell the book. And not necessarily in that order. The cover rounds it off as a product yes - does it sell it, no.

Only the shorty towels are embarrasing. Either you've got Marines in mini-skirts, or guys at the bathhouse. Either way, it's shameful.

The DA bathrobes / sundresses are kinda lame, but they're trying to be monks...

Wow...and I thought I was not going to touch SM ever again! Looks like it may be time to resurrect my Ultramarines!

I really dig the Scout character and I am dying for a spot to stick him in my IG army. The techmarine is awesome too, has a kinda aloof, eccentric engineer look to me. The cover of the new codex is awesome too. Not flashy, a nice change. Lots of character in that marine just striding forward, killing that CSM with one round. Really badass. Can't wait!

The Scout Captain would be a good in a pure Scout army as they would look out of place with a normal marine army, LOL.

I bet the Scout Captain works like the Changeling/Karanak from the Daemons Codex. Just an upgrade for a Scout unit, of the appropriate chapter.

Yeah i hope too, scouts are elites in the new codex and only a special character may change them to Troops.

well, you will be able to. I gather there's special formation sheets for both 1st and 10th marine companys in the forthcoming Apocalypse : reloaded.

No, no. Scouts are Troops, still, although they are becoming WS and BS 3. BA, DA and SW have Elites Scouts, but Vanilla Marines do not.

So it looks like the Drop Pod is designed to hold a full squad of ten unlike the FW pod which hold five. Anybody know details concerning this?

Given that 10 is the number they hold in the 3 and a half current Marine Codexes, it would be pretty pointless releasing a model that only holds five. The Forgeworld pods hold five because they have their own rules that pre-date the current codex rules.

It doesn't have arm-waving or a bald guy shouting. I'd say it's pretty unique and inspired (as 40k covers go...).

I'll agree with that. The Scout Captain will be even more versatile if his cape is separate.

And as far as the SM Codex cover goes, it seems to be lacking a certain number of skulls. I only count one actual skull, one skull-face CSM helmet, and a possible very small skull on the shooting SM's helmet.

Thoughts:

The Scout Captain seems like pure aesome.

Kantor looks way too much like an Ultramarine. It might be because he's in all the Ultras midst here, but even his actual Crimson Fists don't make him seem like a Crimson fist. Must be the iconography.

And that Old helemt dude reminds me way too much of Trap-Jaw from the original (80s) Masters of the Universe cartoon.
