For Duriel I just town portaled in, used another town portal and walked away from it while firing off as many Bone Spears as I could before he killed me, and then repeated. I died at least 30 times, but still...

Also, Misty is a bitch to fight when you have a Charmeleon. I found Bide to work pretty well though.

Anuvver fing - when they do sumfing, they try to make it look like somfink else to confuse everybody. When one of them wants to lord it over the uvvers, 'e says "I'm very speshul so'z you gotta worship me", or "I know summink wot you lot don't know, so yer better lissen good". Da funny fing is, arf of 'em believe it and da over arf don't, so 'e 'as to hit 'em all anyway or run fer it.

Don't even get me started on the Pokemon bosses. In Emerald, Steven was an absolute bastard to fight because he's above and beyond the champion (Wallace is the new champ), and has crazypowerful level 70s and gak like that.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

They've been SIGNIFICANTLY ramped up in power lateley, so I've read. But for the most part Pokemon AI isn't that great, even on gym leaders, so you can generally take them out through sheer leveling. The electric type trainer in Ruby was pretty tough because while I had the grass starter and a diglett(i think. maybe a geodude) that had magnitude, his pokemon were mostly magnemites that were steel type and resistant to most attacks, and had levitate as a passive ability and avoided ground moves. Worse still, they all had an attack that did a set 20 damage. It was tough when my pokemans were all level 17 or so and took 3 hits from that.

In gold I beat the Dragon trainer, and eventually lance, with a team of Dunsparce, Slowbro, Quagsire, Typhlosion, Pidgeot and Kadabra. No ice or dragon or even electic attacks. Tough but doable if you are careful.

Dakka. You need more of it. No exceptions.

Her boss battle is pretty buggy as well. Twice she used a biotic power on me in such a way and timed at such a moment that my character lays on the ground in a distorted fashion quite unlike the game and thus I am unable to get up or continue.

Fricking General Adams in Killzone. Hardly a boss himself (no better than the average grunt), but the Helghast Honour Guards are crazypowerful and all have heavy machineguns.

+1 Matriarch Benezia from mass effect
+1 Duriel from D2
+1 for Kaelthas in wow' tempest keep.

I'd like to mention:
Baal Prinny from Disgaea (finally beat it, but 6 million fething health is too much man)

The necrogiant from painkiller was the biggest mofo... not only does he summon monsters during the encounter but halfway through he starts sucking you into a cyclone and dropping you onto pillars of bone that spawn from the ground.

Last boss of FF8 for nothing more than the sheer amount of time it took. If a character dies on that fight you cannot revive them and they dissappear. 4 boss modes.. jesus h. christ.

General Vezax and on in Ulduar... so many wipes I had to quit that game or watch my heart explode from the nerd rage

Am i the only one who found duriel easy? just stack antidotes and use the belt with half freeze, palidin with zeal (2h) and i think it was might... long time...

The boss fights in GOW2 were pretty lame... very repetitive but i suppose the multiplayer is awesome god i love the feeling of punching the enemy in the face once they are down, or the explosion of guts and bones when you hit someone point blank with a shotgun.

umm a hard boss fight?... i think it was a medal of honor game, you had to go into hitlers(?) bunker and kill him, he had height advantage, the ability to summon extra troops, insane amount of health and machine gun and you had to kill him before he launched a nuclear bomb, jesus i could never do it.

Very similiar thing with Radeck from KZ2, his guards where hardcore, positioned all over the room and a couple were Scouts so were cloaked. Coupled with the fact that he can turn invisible as well, has a one-hit-kill knife and an infinite amount of grenades and ammo and you've got one hardcore boss battle, especially on the hardest difficulty.

Nah, that wasn't Hitler, it was one of his generals who studies your character all the time for some reason. I couldn't get past him either, but that game was really hard overall, even with lots of revives and health packs. I died during the Battle of the Buldge missions so often it wasn't funny.

I actually really enjoyed that fight...except for the RPG troopers. Running to pick up the grenade launcher so you can have a fighting chance? Sorry, no dice, 4 RGPs at any location you stop for even half a second.

+1 for Fable 2 having a crappy boss. I was so tired last night, first time I had played through it, wanted to keep going but didn't want to listen to another long dialog, wanted to shoot him during the first sentence, pressed the "Y" button, and next thing I know he flies over the edge of the platform. Now today I kinda wonder what I missed...

Yeah, but remember that Rainbow Six is one of the more realistic series in terms of damage.

In FF9 any boss that had the spell "mustard bomb." God that was too much unless you were prepared for it I have to say though, FF9 was probably the best of all the Final Fantasies that I've played. I found practically nothing in the game that I disliked other than the loss of my favorite character early on. Oh...and Quina...wtf..? Oh! For all of you FF7 fanboys...that game completely sucked.

I vaguely recall it being some super fire move that kept killing me. Almost as bad that OVER 9000 NEEDLES one.

That game's kind of a blur, though.

It's an annoying move. It doesn't do too much damage, but it gives you a status effect where if you perform any action at all it insta KO's you.

I can't believe I haven't mentioned it yet, but Dullahan from Golden Sun:The Lost Age or whatever the title was. He was a secret boss that you could only fight by finding a particular dungeon and having collected all 18 djinni from BOTH games (by transferring over your old party data) to get through it. He had a severely large amount of health that regenerated partially every turn and was able to use any 3 of his attacks, many of which were one-hit KO's or caused doom, where that character would automatically die in x turns. His most annoying attack was using a Summons skill, Charon I think, that did a hefty chunk of damage, hit the whole party, and had a chance to insta-kill as well, so if he was particularly lucky he could wipe your whole party in one move. Dullahan was Bad News. The only way I beat him was setting up my two parties of 4 characters each to all be able to use the one summon attack he was weak to all at once. My first turn, I'd hit him with 4 summons for ~2500 damage each, and as the djinni recharged I desperately tried to keep the party alive as long as possible while damaging him. As soon as that party went down, the other 4 came out, did their 4 summons, and held out some more until they finished him off. It was tense.

Final boss in Fable 2.
Cut scene then you have about 5-10 seconds to one hit him, if you don't the guy on the right shoots him and one shots him. It doesn't make any difference in the game if you or the NPC kills him.

My brother beat the game before me and after seeing this fight I could never be bothered playing that game again.
