I'm actually a bit of a fan of mega man 3 over 2, but one of the best parts about it are the doc robot battles that emulate the mega man 2 boss battles.

Last boss of Ninja Gaiden Black. By the release of that game they had figured out all the ways that people had figured out to beat him, to the point that certain moves would literally bounce off of his exposed skin. First time I got to him, I had no healing items. Took me a few months there, considering all of the unblockable or undodgeable attacks he throws together that knock off more than half of your health.

Ps: Duriel can take a flying leap. I played a skeleton heavy summoning Necromancer BEFORE the 1.1 patch made them usable past act 1. Everything was like fighting Duriel, and fighting Duriel himself took far too many tries to be reasonable and sane. Diablo was worse. Without the Fire Golem skill he was impossible. With a simply swipe of his hands and one casting of fire nova your whole party/source of damage would be instantly be incinerated.

PPS: I've seen Fable 2 mentioned a few times. Is there anything I should know about that might make it not worth renting? I enjoyed the first one.

I think Halo has good reason to be hyped. It's a well-crafted, original game, and one of my favourite series.

Admittedly, the boss fights felt a bit tacked-on.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

Command and Conquer: Renegade had pretty good boss fights, and Darkwatch's two bosses were really fun.

The original Halo deserved the hype it got, it had great weapons, features, was innovative, and had my favorite health system in any shooter to date
HOWEVER
Halo 2 and 3 i feel are WAY over rated by todays standards, it just feels like a generic first person shooter at this point, it just doesnt impress me much anymore.
The "Bosses" in Halo barely deserve that title

Never played the first one, but both my wife and I have greatly enjoyed Fable 2; well-worth buying. Usual quasi-sandbox game problem - fairly short main plot, but lots of other stuff to do.

I'm not TOO much into gaming these days (not enough time) but I remember enjoying the first one, and with the addition of firearms I hoped it would be good. I'll give it a rent but I don't think that if I bought it I'd have enough time to play it out like the first.

Content: Last boss of Lost Planet took far, far, far too long to kill with ranged attacks. You had to close and hope you could get off a nasty swipe off on him without catching his super-duper lightsabers to the face and killing you in 2 hits.

Like I said in another post, Halo CE is my all time favourite of the halo games.

On topic, I forgot the full name but it was a game like street fighters but everyone were gansters. It's called something-something fight for new york city. HARDEST bosses of all time. Every battle was a struggle to get the KO.

Fable II's final boss fight was a joke.

But that was the point, wasn't it? I know it's all "OH Peter Molyneux's trying to be ABSTRACT again, woohoo." but I think I get it this time. The point was he was simply a man who was obsessed with power, and although he could control all the magic in the world that couldn't make up for his dwindling physical and mental strength. The point that one pistol shot can kill him is testament to the simple truth that he had grown too powerful and the mighty fall even harder than the weak.

If you get my drift.

But the hardest boss I remember fighting was.. possibly Umbra in Oblivion with the difficulty at hardest, at level 25? Christ, that girl had SO MUCH HEALTH. The only way I could do it was jack up a Paralyze spell for something like 15 seconds and just stand there hitting her body.

The easiest was Saren at the end of Mass Effect. That was a joke. I had my whole party with the Spectre XX weaponry, got Kaidan to lift him and then we just poured lead into him. I had managed to outfit everyone's gun so that they never overheated and had almost no kickback, so it was just a joke.

Oh, and Halo CE was definately the best. CE > 3 > 2. 2 was a load of horse gak.

I agree with you about Umbra, first time I went in there you kill me in less than 20 seconds! No matter what i summoned, sneak attacks, poison or anything at all could not kill her. In the end got every follower i could and then tried, only me and the adoring fan were alive at the end. And i traded in the goddamn sword as well!

Thats one of those situations where the weapon you need to complete the quest is the reward of the quest itself. I've never actually gotten to beat Oblivion, as my first copy was stolen by neighborhood kids that got into the house, and my X-box ate my Game of the Year Edition.

My Oblivion kept crashing a lot, as all Bethesda games are wont to do. Though it could be the ahem, mods that I installed.

Mmm, Brook. That's why I bought Oblivion for the PC with Mods in mind, I'd done my research while my order was being shipped, meaning that I was prepared. I'd even made a castle in the TES:CS before my copy arrived

Some mods will FUBAR your game. Use with caution. Oh, and a Mod-Manager so that you can turn them on and off at will, surprisingly seamlessly.

Try the last boss of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II. Man, he doesn't die. When you finally manage to inflict enough damage on him while avoiding his mirror image, he does this stupid drain attack that refills his health and nearly kills you.
