Would you ever collect a miniature game made by a company other than games workshop?
I'm not interested in wargaming anyway
I've not heard enough about other games or settings
I only like GW stuff due to rules/availability/etc
I have not seen anything I like enough to invest in yet
I'm not even that interested in GW stuff / I'm slowly getting out of the hobby
I am planning to start a non-gw game soon
I already play/collect at least one non-gw game
I dont play/collect anything from GW, only other manufacturer's stuff

My answer was not there: I wouldn't mind playing something from another company, but I haven't seen anything that caught my interest.

exactly. My interest is sci-fi, and most other popular game systems are all fantasy based. While thats cool and all, I want my power armored super humans with machine guns!

Tomorrow's War. Supior ruleset that allows you to use any miniatures you'd like - even 40k!

If everyone of GW games vanished, except for Blood Bowl, I wouldn't be upset.
So many other better games out there, that never get played becouse of GW lock on the market. I'm just glad they play Infinity near where I live.

Edit: And most of my Blood Bowl Teams are from other companys. Mostly Impact Miniatures.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

I play Fantasy, 40k and FoW. The problem with other companys is that they dont advertise as much as GW do, and a lot of people think GW is the only miniatures company out their. That happens a lot with children and teenagers because they wont go as far as looking on the internet for other retailers.

I'd argue that GW doesn't advertise at all, relying on word-of-mouth and the fact that they have their own chain of stores to draw in new players.

Also, they have a sort of mentality where 'GW is Miniature Wargaming', which kind of brain washes the new kids into thinking GW-only.

One need only go to The Miniatures Page http://theminiaturespage.com/ or Table Top Gaming News http://theminiaturespage.com/ to see advertisements from a boat load of dfferent companies. There are so very many choices out there.

I played Dystopian wars for a bit, but it just didn't hold the appeal for me that 40K does.

Pretre: OOOOHHHHH snap. That's like driving away from hitting a pedestrian.

I started out playing 40k, but due to price and (oddly enough) player availability, I dropped it in favor of WarmaHordes.

That's kinda the point of the answer "I have not seen anything I like enough to invest in yet"

I would easily jump boats and play a different game but the only real issue is availability. Games Workshop products are just easier to access.

I think Bolt Action by Warlord Games looks pretty good and it would be cool to get some when i start making some money.

I play pretty much every game that's NOT GW. That includes Warmachine, Malifaux, Infinity, Dystopian Wars, Heavy Gear, Dark Age, and a few others....

It costs me less, results in better rulesets and better models. Particularly as I'm a very avid painter. Pretty great deal
