Bloodbowl is my favourite game, but I've branched out to buy other fantasy football figures for it, as GW show's no interest in that specialist line.
I've got 40k and fantasy armies but really don't enjoy them very much anymore.
Got 2 Privateer Press Hordes factions and am enjoying painting up the figures...now just to play some more games.

I stick with GW because A) I adore the Warhammer settings, both 40k and Fantasy, and B) They're widely available and widely played. I have yet to meet TFG at my FLGS. Automatically Appended Next Post: And of COURSE by TFG I mean Temple Flameguard Unit. What a bunch of jerks they are.

I would collect another game, but none of my friends play them so it would be pointless. I've stuck around different shops that play other wargames, but they are never the kind of guys I would hang out with so that deters me too.
I know some guys who play Flames of War, but it doesn't look like my kind of game.

I have (either finished or on the way).
28mm Romano British. (in house skirmish rules)
25mm Samurai. (in house skirmish rules)
10mm Samurai. (in house grand manner style rules)
25mm Stargrunt.
15mm Stargrunt.
2 Full Thrust Fleets.
20mm German Armoured Battallion. ( Rapid Fire)
Finally GW which I've only really got into since I've found boxes of unpainted minis in the loft, but I doubt I'll buy many new ones.
Find it slightly odd that most peoples idea of an "alternative" wargames system is either a GW wannabe company, or FOW.
Lots more to choose from out there.
Of course if historical isn't your thing then I guess your options do get rather limited.

A ton of people in my area play Warhammer, there are also a few BFG players, but there are also some Battletech players around here, so I am tempted to play other games. Every time I think I might get into Battletech though, I find one of the old metal models for it....and I cringe D: I've also thought about playing "Wings of War" or whatever the air combat game is called. Generally, I've been unwilling to spend EVEN MORE MONEY on another game as of yet. Way back when, I played the MechWarrior Dark Age game, and if HeroClix ever comes back I'll probably get into that. Personally, I almost want to make a wargame myself, but it's extreemly complex and hard to do, even harder to balance.

I relatively bored with GW product, esp the poor support of the alien races in 40k. I could care less about another chapter clone of the space smurfs, spiky marines, or the space furies. Give me more Dark eldar, Orks that don't suck (5th made orks one dimensional IMHO), eldar that have options (not the illusion of options), nids that know how to open vehicles, tau that don't look like a complete rip off of anime and the chapter 1&2 of star wars, necrons that have more than one troop and non special character HQ choice, or god forbid a new race. I personally play sisters of battle, orks, dark eldar, daemon hunters, and space marines.
I do like fantasy, but the army books have huge balance issues. The lower armies have a very hard time winning ANY game, let alone a game played by one of the better armies. I have no problem with their being a "best army" or even some armies that are just really good. I do have a problem with armies that have little to no chance of competing. That and the fact they got people to buy armies they didn't properly support (dogs of war, kislev, zombie pirates, and chaos dwarfs) I personally play dark elves, used to play daemons (I got bored of easy wins), empire (on hold since I don't really relish painting that many Landsknechts), TK (got bored of same game over and over), and ogres (was started as a joke army that I somehow had a winning record with, gave up since their isn't much variation)
Their specialist games aren't too bad, except the complete lack of company support, and impossible to get models. That wouldn't be too bad, except most of the models suck (blood bowel is an example), and the rules are often clear as mud.
Don't get me wrong, I do like GW, they have quite a large following (important to finding game) and their ideas are pretty good. I just don't like their follow through. It just seems like they have typical small company problems (rule and model support) blended in with large company problems (forgetting the base customer, pricing idiocy, and impersonal service)
I just started classic battletech, have a small Shroud Mages navy from Uncharted Seas, play borrowed FoW armies, used to play mageknight back when only the first 2 sets were out. For that matter I would really like to try the Saganami Island Tactical Simulator game put out by Ad Astra Games.
I don't plan on playing any privateer press games, since they seem to be built around MTG with minis. Don't have a problem with stat cards, just don't like the emphasis on combos and resource pool management. That and I don't like the general "roundness" of the composition of their entire product line. Yes I know when you have huge shoulders and tiny legs with the elbows bent it makes a model look intimidating. It also makes it look like a circle.
I haven't purchased any FoW armies, the only way I would is if a pacific theater version of the game became popular.

I don't play FoW because I gave up playing WW2 games (in that scale) back in the 80s.

I really like the miniatures from GW and the whole 40k universe, but the overly verbose ambiguous rules system is starting to annoy me. It doesn't really seem like GW cares nearly as much about gamers as they do about hobbyists.
I've been thinking about getting into something by Privateer Press because the rules seem to make more sense and it could be more fun to play.

I collect LOTR, 40K and Fantasy, and a bunch of specialist games. I use other companies models for specialist games though, except BFG.
I also play Warmachine and Hordes, I have a bunch of D'n'D minis, and I have the infinity and Celtos rulebooks. I'm quite open to other games, and unfortunately for my friends, can be quite good at getting people to start them. So I'll often buy into something and then work on getting people to play.

I would if I could find enough people to play with. The main problem I find with wargames, or any niche hobby, is not matter how much I like it if I can't find or make anyone to play with, it ain't worth it.

I've only been playing war-games for about 1 year now so I am comparatively new to the war-gaming hobby, 40K being the only one I play currently.
However, I probably would never stray from games workshop the main reason being that there is no one I know who does other war-gaming other than 40K. If I did find someone else though, I'd certainly consider the other options - GW is just so expensive!

TBH wish I had have found out about some of the other gaming systems BEFORE investing in GW
Anima Tactics is the Non- GW system I have.
Have just started KoW but using GW figures, which seems to be a tad ironic
Once I clear some of the back log of unpainted figures will start expanding my dwarves with Mantic's figures.
I like the look of Malifaux and lots of other minis that you guys keep previewing. So much joy out there.
But as already juggling WHFB, Necromunda, and a bit of 40K am reluctant to stretch my resources.
