After all the hype I feel... not much.
Is okay
Maybe space dwarves are just not my thing.
Blue and gold, an odd choice of colour scheme.
It reminds me of something, but I just can't put my finger on it.

Yeah... not that excited. But then, I've never been big on Dwarves, even Dwarves in spaaaace. Uh, pun not intended.
It's quite a bold blue, more of an ultramarine. I think another system has a faction that swans about in blue and gold... now what were they called.

I think the paint scheme is not doing him justice. I could see myself collecting an army of these if there's enough variety.

It is a bit of an anti-climax, after 5 pages of petulent mud-slinging....er I mean discussion. Nice to see they kept the GW giant weapon obsession going. Looks a bit mono-pose but with seperate arms (does that make sense?). Does anyone know if/when they will post sprue pictures?

This is a heavy weapon trooper, not a regular guy. That's why the gun is big.
Agree that the paint scheme and photography are not good. It looked better when I was holding it in my hands, unpainted. The models are plain amazing, they are some of the best sculpts released by any manufacturer this year.
There are too many shadows on the pic, and the models hasn't been based.
I would not have painted these blue either. Here's a photoshop (courtesy of max jet on warseer) that I think suits them better Blue changed to olive, no other changes:
Bit rough, but you get the idea.
There aren't any sprues for this model, it's resin plastic, possibly in 2-3 pieces.
The basic forgefather infantry will be plastic.

I was a bit excited for this.. but it looks a bit plain. The tiny picture doesn't help it any either..
For not wanting to show us the model until it was painted.. that's a pretty sub-standard paint job.

...I like it!
Brings to mind the Squat miniatures of old, but without a lot of the silliness many of the models in that line had.
Looking forward to more - and looking forward to figuring which Codex to use as my "Counts As" Squat army... if the Price is Right!

I like that everyone's complaining about this model when it looks EXACTLY like the concept art. Quit your bitching ffs, you should have seen this coming if you didn't like the original designs. I'll agree the paintjob doesn't look great and they could have chosen something much better, like that Photoshopped image. I liked the art earlier, and I like the model now.

I like the model and concept. I just fail to understand after so much hype of not wanting to release a picture before it was painted.. that they wouldn't have a nicely painted model that was based as well.
I don't have any issue with the beard armor, as many historical armor sets had the same thing. It's not really there to protect the beard, it's just decorative. I was thinking when the original pics came out that they would be fun to convert to some chaos dwarf space marines.. and at mantic's normal low prices it'll be a cheap project as well.

You see, i pass one day away from internet and they release that picture...
The model is nice, the paintjob is not. That guy on golem studios dont paint bad, but he dont know how to choose colors... I hope Gold and Blue dont turn into the "oficial" color scheme for them...
It looks just like the concept art (ok, legs are a little small, but we can deal with that, and could be just the angle). positive score
It looks easy to paint, basecoat, undercoat, wash, higllight. OR do it the hard slow way. positive score
working all this circus to show that? Sorry Mantic, thats a BIG negative score.
