I have started the yellow with tausept ochre. Indeed, the Foundation range made the painting of yellow and white possible on black undercoat. ^^
I wouldn't have chosen a yellow scheme without that.

I don't know if I have great skills as a painter, but I have made big progresses since I started (trust me, my first space marines would make you laugh ). And what is good is that I keep learning and improving my painting.
What I'm trying now is to paint faster without droping my painting level. Not an easy task, but it would help me a lot because I have lots of miniatures to paint. ^^


And if you can understand me, that's cool.

Two years ago, I entered the Gothicomp online BFG dedicated painting contest with both a single entry, and a complete fleet.

Rusting is looking good. Will the wood stain bring some life to the yellow? (Looking a bit flat at the moment)

Dipping is an interesting technic, but the inconvenient is that we don't know the final result until the mini is finished. And yellow is a color that I don't paint usually. These meganobz are a test, in a way.

On my orks, I use the fast solution. I undercoat black. Then apply scorched brown overall except in recess and holes.
Then I take my old pencil, you know that kind of pencil that has several spikes instead of one good defined point, and "tap" (is that the correct word ? ) the rusted surfaces with an orange brown, like Calthan brown or bestial brown. The idea is that the way-to-old pencil will create random spots of random size on the mini. It's these spots of several colors that will give the rust its texture and depth.

The meganobz after dipping. They are not dry yet, and of course the matt varnish was not applied. So it's really shiny for the moment.

I have started to paint a new ship for my Navy fleet. Only the metallic purple is done, much more to come. ^^

I love the result with my varnish on these meganobz, I find it much better than what I got with my previous varnish.
So I have sprayed my older nobz, and IMHO they look really better :

I used it as a Sonic Blaster. There were 20 of them in the army so every one was custom made.
