This may sound weird but I think the end of the world might be the best thing that can happen to me...it'll force me to lose weight and learn all the skills I wanted to learn but never had time to...

Sure the internet may be gone and with it things like videogames and communication but sometimes it seems like it would be simpler that way...

Trust me man, we communicated just fine before internet...if anything communication was much better back then because much of it took place face to face.

Heh, I guess being the " old dog" on the bunch will serve me nicely, I grew up without cellphones and such...so won't really " miss" them...plus video games bore me.
Coming off the techno tit won't really bother me very much...if we have a TV, DVD player and a stack of horror flicks...I'm all good.

I'm fast, can shoot, have a good tactical mind, learn quickly, have survival skills, and intelligent. Not to mention the fact that I can put up with extreme heat and cold.

Exactly...hell a global apocalypse would be a small price to pay just to see if half the folks on the internet were willing to put their money were their mouth is.

You know, with ISP gateways in boxes on every corner, I'm QUITE SURE enough deep layer hardware could be scavenged to recreate a small regional internet.

Oh man, if a good portion of the internet infra was still there, you could have like, cyber-mad max battles where people are setting up rogue routing tables and competing DNS servers. You'd have to drive around and destroy rogue hardware to keep yours from having address conflicts.

Gentlemen, we'll need to ensure we have plenty of tactical bacon. Phillipine Marines carry this stuff in their kit, and those guys are f***ing nuts. Like, Roided up Oompa Loompas with Rabies kind of f***ing nuts. Thus, by stocking tactical bacon, we'll be f***ing nuts and unstoppable.

Also, we'll obviously need certified blacksmiths and gunsmiths to repair tools and weapons. For some reason this -always- gets overlooked in an apocalypse until someone's weapon jams or their axe gets too dull to imbed itself in a zombie scalp.

So besides a doctor..general surgeon perfer we need a IT guru to get this up and running...we got solar panels and I do know some of the admin buildings on post have good size panels....if someone say we need a lawyer you are going into the gladiator pit to face the weiners.

i can shoot decently,but am no expert. i can grill,but am no expert. i can organize,but am no expert. i can swim,but am no expert. i can run like hell,but am no expert, i can be insane, total expert.

i can also make those hard supply runs better by going out 1st. if i dont come back,know its safe to come out.

Metal. Fitz got the small arms shop covered. I know where a 3rd shop depot level repair container for small arms is at. Has all the specs and repair procedure for all US weapon Also a PLS to move it. Metal would you be bringing your weapons? Not adverse to using M4's are you?

I can solder some - not pro level, but I can make connections and the like. Also capable of basic vehicle repair, helluva cook, and if you put anything bolt-action in my hands, things will die.

And Jihadin, I don't have any room for guns in my home (Plus my landlord would probably disapprove...) But my buddy and I go out shooting beer caps and cans with his .308 Win. and his .22LR practically every weekend, and I used to go out shooting and duck hunting with my Grandpa in Alberta when I was younger. Safe to say I can nail a zombie between the eyes from 300+ feet without a problem.

M4's won't be a problem. Got to practice plenty with the C7A1 and C8 in the combat sim in the basement of the armoury. Eugene Stoner's rifles have had my heart since I was old enough to know what an AR15 was.

Okay, well no arguing. I'll just talk about my end of days preparation.

My first goal is to learn a bit of navigation. I know nothing about it.

Second goal, learn how to drive boats and basic naval skills (I'm enlisted in the navy and going in this summer. Thinking about being a BM with coxswain certification just for the experience)

Learn how to fire a gun. Never fired a real gun. Only airsoft guns. Airsoft guns won't be very useful, except to annoy people with.

Learn extensive survival skills. Fire making, shelter building, cold and hot weather techniques, the works

Buy as much military surplus as possible. Reliable, functional clothing will be a rare commodity. Also, camouflage helps a lot in a variety of situations

Buy a nice back pack. My ALICE rucksack won't last very long.

Keep up the values and skills I've learned in the Navy, and pass those value and skills upon my children, which will born in the wilderness of maryland to a beautiful mother of a hard character.

Water travel will be rare. If I can ride down a river in a small boat that can also be a home, I'd be a happy sailor. And the captain of it too.

Klimino. All good. You have two arms and legs with 10 fingers and 11 toes. You can work with the livestocks. Help improve the grazing area and make/sustand the pen fence. Start small with goats, chickens, and cows. We need milk for coffee so....you know the repetitive motion ones does with their hands...Can get a bucket real jiffy like

ive had chickens,and am great with them. if you need eggs and chickens bred and hatched,i can do it.

Army Field Manual 3-25.26 - - Land Navigation. All NCO's are train to use a map and compass...lot lose that experience since we use pluggers. we can though get military maps of the area/state we are in.

That comes in very handy. Summer time in WI is quite a haul on good size fishes. Not Big Foot fishing please

Load out kit more then likely be M4 with a M9 with appropiate ammo for two engagement maybe a flashbang and a frag. Plus training on the crew serves and maintaining the MRAP ad up armor support vehicles

Got you covered on that. I know where they keep the RDI equipment. Be one of the first place acquire from. So everyone can look like we're on deploymnt

Nice Metal. I do know where a certain unit keep their exotic weapons locked up. From russian, british, germany,and france weapons. So figure if your comfy with that. I'm game for it. Its a long trip. Its near the Jack Daniel Distillery in Tennesse

We're so going to have to raid a library for books on this regard for livestock and planting and blacksmithing. I don't think I know a blacksmith. Guess we have to learn eh

I see Fortress Dakka is going to be a FoB style installation. We need a RTCH to stack 20 ft containers on blocks to keep off the ground. Wigh the handy guys around we can start building CHU's with AC and if possisle hot and cold water.

Also seems we're getting a wide spectrum of nationals here. I say country flags be flown. All same size. Though not to an extent they will give information about ourselves and who we have there
