Probably work

I did a rough shotgun from out of a SM flamer with the nozzle cut off and the fuel can snipped off for my Hades Breaching Drill engineers.

I think those ones made from chimera lasguns are inspired however! I think I'm going to have to switch to those!

Assume all my mathhammer comes from here: https://github.com/daed/mathhammer

The drum mag is just some 5mm plastic rod, cut to the width of the lasgun mag well, then cut a quater slice out of it, cut off the lasgun man and stick this in its place, IMHO i think it lacks detail but gets the point across.

I love you for the fact that you put the yellow and black hazard stripes on it

Just did the Plasma gun build. It looks really nice in person, kind of like a Plasma shotgun.

Thought for the day: Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

Gave my best building Meltagun. It's on the left.

I like it and it looks good, no green stuff involved obviously.

On the right you see my succesful failure of self-made plasma. It went bad while putting coil part on the lasgun, so I went for something with bitz I got next to me.

Tell me what you think?

They look ok, glue control needs some work and I'm not sure on the scope but but that's just design choice.

So after lots of pondering on this again i came up with another melta gun alternative, although it isn't strictly in the original brief of just using plastic bits from the kit....
Basically i got to thinking of how each gun is "identified" plasma with the coils on top, flamers with the vented from with a pilot light, bolters with a simple barrel and lasguns with the slanted muzzle. And i also thaught about how these are mirrored across all sizes of appropriate techs, lasguns/lascannons boltpistols/bolters/HB etc etc etc

Meltas are easily recognised by the tubular muzzle with the distinctive vents in it. so spurred on by the brilliant plasma gun (mk2) from this thread which i have already replicated.
I like how it is based on a lasgun with the premise that all guard weapons have some elements of interchangeabilitly.

So a couple hours of fidely cutting and drilling led me to this

have made up a few on some of the 2 piece guardsmen as with my plasma guns, just waiting for the outer part of the muzzle to dry so i can gun out the vents

Inspired by this thread I cut up some lasgun and flamer bits and had a go at my own Melta Conversion.

No greenstuff required!
