Another Kickstarter delay? Least shocking update news....ever!

Update #122

Nov 19, 2013
We're sorry Santa...

So yes, we're late. I won't write tons of things just to tell you that. The question is « why are we late ? »

We did our job and we did it well. We sent everything to the Printer and he checked our files. Then he called us to told us we missed some very important steps. He started to talk about lot numbers, copyrights on every components, warning for babies to not eat the MG42, references, international business laws, nomenclature, profiles, ...
We did generate the bar codes and were very proud of that. We told him but that was not enough though. We didn't know all the arcanes of this secret language.

A new world opened its doors to us and what's behind is pretty scarry !
The Printer summoned a minor demon to help us. He spawned in Paris just to finalize our files in order to pass the great old final test. The kind of test you're doomed for ever if you fail it.
It took days and nights to finalize this task but now, it's done. Pentagrames are drawed, a choir is singing the ancient incantations and the sacrifice has been complete (We sacrificed our own social life).
The Printer was happy. His wrath was appease. He decided to let us pass for the next level. He said « Production ready to start it is. » And we praised him, immolated his demon and drank some beers.

So, the production will start next week. No slots for us before... It will last for 4 to 5 weeks. Then 3 to 4 weeks for boat shipping and custom and 1 to 2 week for delivery...
We won't be able to provide you the game for Christmas and we're very sorry about that.

So it is time to reveal the piggy surprise...
For all pledges, we offer you two army boxes with plastic trays to sort your tokens, one American and one German.
For the 90£ pledges, we add the Commonwealth army box.
You also will have another surprise when the website will be finished. By logging with your Kickstarter email you'll find out what it is.

I told you in a previous update that we're game designers, not publishers. Now we are ! The next project will be more professional in terms of production and delay and still as generous as Heroes of Normandie.
We learned from our mistakes...

Clem, squeaking for the Devil Pig Games team.

At least they are throwing in the storage boxes/trays as a bonus. And updating us. Some companies seem to think 'update' is a bad word.

So does that basically say they didn't know what the hell they were doing?

Project Update #123: Still printing and...
Posted by Devil Pig Games ♥ Like

Yes, stuff is printing ! It's a huge job because they have to print so many things. But we're good so far.

I finished to work on the Backers report files and i've something to say :
THANK YOU !
Because i read so many encouraging, cheering and very kind messages from you ! It was a very pleasant moment to read them all.

What are we doing now ?
We finished to create the paratroopers regiments for all armies. With new characters, gear, units, vehicles and, of course, heroes. Now we have to work on the visuals. We should be able to show you the US 101st and 82nd airborne soon, Fallschirmjägers will follow, then the brits. We will test the scenarios and the new terrain tiles after that.

We also working on downloadable special rules for Achtung! Cthulhu and DUST MODs.

The new website will be online soon.

And ?
And, once the 3 scenario packs are done, we will focus on Shadows over Normandie (the title may change).

That's it folks...

Doesn't look like this one is shipping anytime soon then...

I assume this one was also supposed to be in hand for Christmas?

Yup - in fact I think it was 'delayed' until November initially, and then we've been getting pushed out since then...

Is there an Actual ETA on shipping for it?

None that I've seen - and since the latest update mentions starting work on the Shadows Over Normandie Cthulhu expansion soon... It is probably going to be longer than we think!

Bummer, bummer.

I couldn't swing the horrible shipping for the Kickstarter version, but was wholly looking forward to getting the retail version. I have been a fan of their game "Frontiers" since it came out, and having played that puts me in a situation to have full confidence in Heroes of Normandie.

Update #124

Merry Christmas !

To you all !
We hope you had great parties. Sorry again to not have provide the game in time.

Everything's should be printed mid January. Yes, we know, it's late again but this time it's not our fault. Iello's working with the same printer and told us that their production is late too. To tell the truth, being a small company involve some disadvantages. For example, seeing our production delayed by bigger production and it's not because of this particular printer, all of them are more compliant with their most important clients.

We had a trouble with the dice and the order tokens, the quality was'nt good enough, the colour was horrible. So we asked them to work again on that.
It took more time than expected to check the whole production. Because of the amount of different elements we worked closely with the printer to avoid any mistakes.

So, nothing really new, no really good news but we're getting closer everyday from the delivery.

Paratroopers are defined and we're working on the visuals. We will show the first units after the hollydays.
The website is quiet finished, we just have to fill some parts in english.
We will enter our workplace at the beginning of January. That will help us to be more efficient than working from our appartments.

Happy new year and take care of you !

Update #125

Here we are !

So, the news, the one we were all waiting for, arrived this morning. The print run is finished and we're booking the boats (one for the US/Canada and one for Europe/Russia).

a couple weeks ago...

Thist means, your packages should leave China next week, sailing toward the dispatchers. During this time the new version of the dice will be produced (because we weren't happy with the quality of the previous dice).

bad version

new version but not final colour

Piggy dice (one black and one pink)

Once this production is done, and it will be done before the boats arrive, we'll send them by plane to the dispatchers and they will add them to your packages... and mail them to you !!
Australia and Asia can wait for the dice to be done before being send to backers.
And next month, the full production will be sent to us (Devil Pig Game and other co-editor/distributor) and then, to the stores.

The plastic tray...

Sorry again for the delays and the lack of communication. We were stressed, a little bit depressed and felt bad for you. But it's over and the moral is high !
You were patient, you were great, you changed our lives... Thank you for everything !

What else ? Next update will be about British paratroopers and should be online on monday (for sure !).

Yann & Clem

Still not clear as to which expansions, if any, will also be shipping now, or if not, when!

Hello guys. Sorry for the silence. If we dind't say anything it's because we didn't have any concrete news to tell you. We're working on an update for this week with, i hope, a strong date for delivery. We will tell you the last events, the good things and the less good ones (nothing serious, don't worry). Once again it's a lot of work for three people, handling the production, dealing the best delivery services, working with the distributors, creating paratroopers (visual very soon !), working to have a proper workplace, dealing with the insurance (we're starting, so everything has to be done), finding a warehouse...
Anyway, you're right to tell us to speak more. We ear you and we're not very confrotable with this situation. But don't worry, it's on its way, it takes time. We had an issue with the dice and are working on two shipments to the dispachers to not lose more time (everything by boat and then dice by plane). We will show you the pictures of the dice to explain why we asked the manufacturer to re-make them.
I swear you to post an update about the production before the end of the week !

We will post something about the British paratroopers very soon. This part tooks time too because we changed our working process (we spotted too many mistakes with the previous one). That means starting from scratch to work on a clean material.
Hope you'll understand...
By the way, i just received the Rivet War delivery announcement, one year after having pledged their game. And this is cool mini. They're way bigger than us.

I'm realizing that with an upcoming move (most likely to a smaller place) I have too much stuff. I just sold off my Galaxy Defenders pledge and am considering selling off this one too. Not 100% positive yet, but would anyone be interested in it?

Hello everybody from the new wolrd !
We were silent since the last news. Why ? Because we weren't 100% sure of the informations we had.
Iello told us that the boat left on the 26th of March. That information was correct. Except that the boat left Beijing to reach Shanghai. So we kept this information for us.
Then they gave us the boat name and a departure date, the 30th. We checked and the boat didn't hit Shanghai harbour at this time. We kept this information for us.
The boat finally left Shanghai this morning (french time). She will stop in some chinese ports before sailing to USA. We released the information...

ETA is the 13th of April (Iello official statement). 2 more weeks to be in their warehouse.

Here's the link to track the boat :

Sorry again for the mess, guys.

Update #136

NEWS ! NEWS ! NEWS !

EU : shipping should be finished tomorrow or the day after. (don't ask me about tracking number, i don't know how it's handled).
FR : Ensuite, il nous envoie le camion avec le reste pour les cellules de résistance. Les colis sont fait donc on n'aura pas à le faire et on gagnera du temps !

NA : The boat should arrive tomorrow and the container the 25th in the warehouse. Dispatch will start then.

Australasia : Bad news. The chinese dispatcher cancelled the deal yesterday :(
We're looking for a new one but the last price we get was 150$ to 200$ for Australia !!! You can understand that we can't do that.
So far, the solution for the moment, is to send the packages from Germany (the german dispatcher is the cheapest but it's still 100$ for Australia). We will pay for that, don't worry but it will be longer. And i love Aussie (! So ii feel bad for you.
If someone has a contact to help us to send packages from China, email me (clem@devil-pig-games.com).

Download (devil-pig-games.com)
A lot of things are available to download on our website (DDay in english, DUST, Achtung!Cthulhu, Special habilities summary...)
Plein de choses sont à télécharger sur notre site web ! (DDay en français, DUST, Achtung!Cthulhu, récapitulatif des compétences...)

Here's an explanation about the Stretch goals and pledged modifications (click to enlarge) :
