Max Factory does good work. Not super enthused by marines (as I don't play them), but if they did some tau battlesuits, that would be cool. I'd finally have that mecha army I've always dreamed of

Very nice models. Wish they were easily accessible over here and not in blind bags, as if GW just released a box set with one of each as a 'special edition Ultramarine Tactical Squad' or whatever I'd happily pay in the region of £35-40 for the set. They'd make a great basis for a Kill Team or other skirmish game force, all nice and characterful.

I would be fine if they were still blind bags. Blind bags can be fun, if a little stressful. But first they need to release them here! I want that Sergeant. He needs to be a Crimson Fist. Possibly a Lieutenant. I would cut his Grav pistol off (gross, why would you waste points on that) and switch out his chainsword for a Power Sword or Axe.

I'm noticing that some of the figures are depicted with helmets in some pictures and bare heads in others, so it looks like they may have options for helmets. I also noticed that on the web page, one of the group shots shows the three silhouetted figures. One is a plsma gunner, one a heavy bolter, third is a captain with plasma pistol, power sword, and an Iron Halo. The captain also looks to be wearing MK.8 armor.

Brother Sargent Sevastus bowed to the mountain of rubble of crushed statue. He glanced at the plaza which became rubble with the flames of fire and the roaring sound and shouted loudly towards the surroundings. In his surroundings, the men are preparing for the last charge, towards the large hole that the cursed and the reversers opened in Ovar II 's winter cathedral. The gun was reloaded, the brain fighting chant was cast and prepared for the upcoming massacre. The air is full of cordite and crumbled rock dust. It will be a matter of time that the smell of bloodshed adds to it.
"17 life reactions, one gait fighter machine", Brother Drool communicated information of Ausekk from the communication machine. "Somewhat troubling."
Sevastus emptied his chain's sword and looked to Brother Captain Tassarius. The legendary warrior nodded seriously with expression of solemn determination.
"Hey guys!" Cried Sevastus. "Attack at the Emperor's name! Courage and glory!"
Sevastus jumped over the obstacle by jumping over as soon as rubble was eased. Brothers will also follow the joy of voice and follow him. Tassarius has already advanced a few steps ahead of the power sword and shining the plasma pistol brightly. Brother Castor and Titus gangs each other's sides, shielding the Bolt gun while avoiding enemy bullets and proceeding with the aim to the chest wall of the cathedral destroyed by the enemy.
Crimson Slaughter, a heretic, armed with a paint similar to the color of the blood, emerges with the light of the cross fire. Three people were blown away by the shields and another one was sniperized at the head with Castor's precise shooting. After that, the Brother Triad's heavy bolter slaps the roaring sound, and the explosion of the bolt bullets crushes the walls of lock rock. Promethor's plasma gun shone brightly like a sun from a gun, with maximum power shooting, and a high temperature plasma fireball was released with a sharp sound. The fireball hit directly on the chest of the heretic and evaporated its body into a red vapor cloud.
The storm of saturated shooting destroyed Tassarius and gave a gap to close the distance. Sevastus gave a smile of praise, as the Brother Captain seemed to be attacking like Kevin Space Marine like a bull. The power sword of the captain slashed the neck of the third reverser and the helmet with that corner depicted the arc of the blood and fell to the ground. But soon, Sargent froze his heart to Tassarius, witnessing the huge Helmaruto, a metal wild beast fused with a powerful warrior and hell combat machine, hitting.
"Captain! Enemy!"
"No complaints." Tassarius quickly dodged himself and launched a fatal energy bullet from the plasma pistol. Hellbroat lost half of his head, and Tassarius swept the huge fist empty down where he was until a while ago.
Sevastus rushed up the collapsed pillar in three steps in order to push the chain sword against the molten mass which was the face of Hellbroat. The fangs of Adamantium sprinkle bone and debris gigantically. Sevastus jumped from the falling aircraft, spreading his legs quickly and balanced. One Brother · Remms missile hits the target. The timing was perfect. Crack missiles toppled a walking machine like a beast and its roaring trembled, even Seerastus' ears over a helmet. Sargent clenched his teeth and released a blow of a glove pistol, a huge metal frame was formed as a wrinkled mass by his own weight.
Sevastus looked at the squads of the most opponents approaching. A jagged knife flashes, and a gunfire flashes from the muzzle of the bolt pistol. A shoot fell on his shoulder, and the shock hit him one step behind. Much of the impact was absorbed by his shoulder armor, and intense pain quickly disappeared by his enhanced biochemical reaction. On the other hand, Tassarius suffered a bang and was hit by a handrail collapsed by half. Sevastus already got married when one of the great opponents came from the side and Brother Gals tore the dusty air and strike and a bullet gun and a pistol shoot were simultaneously shot on one target .

This blade penetrated the thin part of the armor, bites into the body of Sevastus and pierces the unclean thorns in his chest. Sargent felt an unpleasant impact on the chest, and I could not help desiring the emperor's helping hand.
His combat knife slashed the hand of the opposition from the wrist when I thought that the cobalt blue armor of Brother Aetor was able to be seen in the vision of Sevastus. Sevastus instantly returned to sanity and stroked his elbow in the chin of the opposition. As Aetor feints to the left, he gently scooped his body and screws the blade into the eyeball of the reversible (it is an effective attack in the battle of the knife), while Sevastus grips another one of the enemies with the butt of the glove pistol Knife is knocked down. He felt a strong pain in his head and he soon rebelled from the melee battle damage recovering. Every time you breathe, the taste of blood spreads in your mouth. To make matters worse, more than six enemies are approaching like a witches starved for blood and slaughter
At that moment, flame of Freomer was radiated to enemy ranks. Callistus also burned a burnt fire burning even from the air behind the statue. The flame blooms the big flowers calling for death, and converts the two Chaos Space Marines into a smoldering ash. Somewhat, Brother Vanial came up and threw a flag grenade in the flame. It rolled on the feet of the reversers who dazzled their eyes and lost the margin to respond. Sevastus awakens his fighting instinct, slashed into the midst of Chaos Space Marine who is undetected by the explosion, and tore up their limbs in a shattered manner in the smoke that seems to be choking. However, the shadow of crimson still hides in the ruins.
Sevastus felt the blood already solidified around his wound. Pure adrenaline is softening the pain suddenly. He smiled, and once again clasped his own chain sword. Yes, this day will be the day full of glory.

The July issue of Hobby Japan magazine has a double page advert for these figures. This is the full spread (full-sized image in the spoiler tab below) and a closer shot of the frame on the left.

My kanji-fu is weak, but this advert seems to say that the figures are 4cm tall. Also the silhouetted Captain Tassarius figure is a "super secret miniature". Perhaps meaning that it's a "rare" figure within the series?

I am curious to see the full reveal of the captain though (as opposed to the silhouette and the foggy background image below).
As for the rhino box, it used to be that you could download and print out your own papercraft rhinos back in 4th edition. It's not the same thing as an officially licensed faux rhino box but it might scratch that itch.

These are still overpriced especially compared with prepainted japanese gashapon. They're effectively starter kit style monopose old marines and no one would pay $6-8 each for a blind buy of one of those from an ebay seller who splits up the set. Comparing anything to the GW character prices just illustrates how bonkers those price really are.

Guess I picked the wrong year to move back from Japan last year lol...
They're not bad for 750 yen, which is about 7 bucks per. It's about time GW hopped on the licensing train and got these into Japanese mainstream. GW merchandise is limited to the 4 or so official stores and 6 or so independent hobby shops in the Tokyo area.
Not sure if I want to make the in-laws go out purchase and send them. We just got a large box of crackers, trinkets and novelties last week. Shipping is a killer...
You can find me in the Chicago Tiki Room, where the drinks are always strong but don't taste that way!!!
Even though they're old marines, for $6-8 a pop for a more "unique" mini I can see a lot of folks trying to get a few - I would if I played normal marines. Admittedly only the sergeants and captain are really worth shelling out the bucks, but I think it's just a smack in the face price-wise. Also, I bet they're not printed by actual GW and the quality might be quite good (some Japanese kits are freakin' fantastic - admittedly not the normal gashapon stuff).

45mm.. or.. 4.5cm compared to (I just measured them) Primaris Marines at 4cm based.. So they're .5 cm taller than P.Marines

(Although now I see that they are cheaper at Hobby Link Japan. Probably still worth checking back when they are actually released to see if there are other sellers and compare shipping.)
HLJ generally has good prices (and you won't get gakky quality), but tend to have expensive shipping. If you use their virtual warehouse it's a lot cheaper as you can ship a bunch of things together though.
