Finally feel like painting again!

So i did. I painted a rock.

It is now a colorful rock. For a battlefield. Of shinyness

Writing lots of things for my blog on Batman Miniatures Game and an upcoming new Arena Rex blog

Going to field my necrons first time in a game. Escalation league opening so 500 pts only. I expect to be facing IG.

Reading some of Cadian Blood last night, and it's given me inspiration to get some of my poxwalker and cultist part painted/unpainted horde worked on. 7 Poxwalkers and 1 cultist completed so far, time to take the dog for a walk, then back at it. Would love to complete 20 models today.

I've started reading 'The Lords of Silence'. It's my first black library book.

Am looking into maybe tracking down Eisenhorn too.

Get a move on and finish my War Walkers this week!

Got bored of working on Poxwalkers after finishing 10 of them and one cultist, and I'm now slapping the basecoats on a bunch of Plaguebearers.

Sorted out the bits to make my entry for this month's Painting Contest.

Trying to paint noise marines but a new momma cat and 4 kittens are complicating it.

Continuing with the batch painting of 24 Plaguebearers. All have flesh colour and flesh wash done, now basing the swords and horns.

Work continues on necrons. Current painting desk has doom scythe, 10 lychguard, 24 warriors, cryptek and overlord. Also did bases for 4 more bases of scarab swarms so those too will join the painting queue. That's just metal parts though.

Waiting for nightbringer to arrive. Starting to worry I got scammed there.

Start assembling the models for this month's painting competition.

I'm crossing my fingers that my 3rd attempt to 3D print a space marine helmet doesn't fail with horrible layer shifts.

put some Wracks together for a bod at FLGS, will be priming tomorrow and painting over the week.

interesting little models actually, not put them together before but they turned out ok.

Also finished a group of 8 confederates from yesterday, then painted another group, almost half way through the box now..

only a four man command group, six skirmishers and a leader for them and the confederate side is done

sweet mother of Gork the Perry's ACW box has a heck of a lot in it

Painted the first batch for my dwarf ranger regiment.

Attempting to make my entry for the painting challenge really pretty so I can improve techniques like blending.

Put snow on bases of 24 warriors, 10 lychguard, 8 scarab swarms, overlord, cryptek and doom scythe. Also painted metal parts for 12 warriors barring last highligh' since forgot the paint home.

Next up black to the weapons

More rangers...

Went to my local GW this morning for some paint and new books. Had a chat with the manager, mainly about Sisters of Battle, he said the new Pentitent Engine looks epic, and that the release goal seems to be September/October.

Then I came home and carried on working on some Deathwatch. 3 more models completed. will see if I have the motivation to continue doing any more.

Painting up a second squad of Intercessors. Hoh boy do I love edge highlighting.

Working on more Deathwatch. 5 more models completed today, still slapping paint on more veterans and a Venerable Dreadnought.

assembled some 28mm wood panel fencing from 4Ground, then stuck them to plastic sheet as otherwise they fall over, very nice fences, look really goo, but typically laid flat face down without a small modification.

also started painting a group of Wracks I think they are called, Dark Eldar whatsits for a guy at the club in return for a bunch of poxwalkers and characters for my Death Guard.

pretty nice kits, they look horrible but go together well and loads of variations in the box so you would have to make a heck of a lot before you ended up with duplicates.

Today saw the brown leather, black armour and skin tones go on

Finished the basic frame for an AT Warhound...

Cleaned up legs and glued them to bases for a 12-man necron warrior unit. Taking it slowly.

Still converting the two Plasma gunner and the Junior Officer models for this month's painting competition.

Bit of paint for AT Knights, a reaver weapon and regluing a magnet to that DIY warhound.

Worked on these today. Got lychguard shields to point where I felt could glue them to bodies. Death scythe main gun got some work done. Also put magnets on 3 tomb blade bodies and assembled weapons(magnets in today) so they can be played with at least. And removed whip coils from 2 wraith.

Next(apart from magnets) put some leadbelcher to 6 wraiths. I want to have at least some colour for all models on saturday when I play first 2k game with necrons. It's held on bit bigger gaming event with possibly people who don't know about 40k so want it to be bit presentable force. At least main colour is there, some metal work and bases done. Good enough.
