But Internet fame Az! INTERNET FAME!!

In other news, you're sadly looking like you might be right. I will hope you only get to bat .500 on predictions, but as much stuff as is in Wave 3 there's a pretty good chance your average will remain where it is.

Bah, I'm already World Famous in My Home and in My Workplace.
(bonus points if anyone picks up the reference!)

What's worse (for me) is that I'm waiting till I've got all my Leviathan stuff in hand first before assembling or painting any of it. This means my W1 stuff don't get opened until my W3 stuff is in hand. Wasn't it due around now, or a month or two ago, originally? The plan seemed better when I made it.

If you have a Leviathan I highly recommend assembling it. You can build up the basic model fairly easily, and leave off the portions that you don't want to decide about or will be in the way (e.g. - the shoulder armor) and not really cause too much trouble. The kit goes together like a dream for the most part, and it's a worthwhile experience on its own. In the picture you can see mine, and that leg armor isn't glued on at all; the tolerances are just holding it on. I still haven't decided between capacitor coolers or smokestacks, so there's nothing on the back, but that's it's own deal as well so it doesn't stop the basic construction. There's some masking tape on the back to hold the shoulders on for pictures, but they're not actually attached atm. It's somewhat amazing how little glue actually went into its construction compared to how big it is.

I agree

build the leviathan and play with it

or when the time you want to paint it to actually game with you'll end up playing with it for too long and fail to get it painted on time!

But don't play with your Leviathan too much or you'll go blind and/or have hairy hands!

You also win NO MINIATURES!

Plus, we can be bros now. Choice?

I've got 2 Levis, but also 2 Mortises on the way, so I'd like to do them all at once (more or less) so I can convert/modify/etc them as I go along.. And then 2 of each of the smaller ones, and a bunch of weapon arms.

Probably came with the paint station he's got there.

...Don't knock that water pot. It's a pretty nice thing and while, yeah, it's too expensive for what it is, buying way too expensive pieces of plastic is what this forum is pretty much about, so don't judge

Hey, I've got a pair of the GW water pots. The little bit that holds the brush with the bristles in the water, but not touching bottom, is really kind of handy. Plus, it's easier to keep track of and remember to clean than anything else I've tried.

It did indeed. I've run out of models to buy and I like to support my FLGS in any way I can (because they're awesome), but I'm not going to just give them money either. So when I need tools I pay more than I need to so I can have a great place to actually play games with a good community.

Now if I could just get them to carry DreamForge so I can give them money for plastic again...

Sorry to get anyone's hopes up of an update. Just wanted to give everyone a heads up on something I found useful for Marc's models. With dreamforge making their own bases I noticed the top flat area is exactly 1" diameter. Didn't think much of it till this morning when I had an epiphany. I had just got this 1" leather hole punch for other modeling projects in my p&m blog here on dakka, and realized I got a two-fer when I checked it with the bases.

The punch was about $16.00 for the 1" size, but I got 12 smaller sizes for about $11.00. As you can see from the pics it cuts clean circles in plastic, wire mesh, and paper. The circles fit perfectly into the dreamforge bases so it might help you guys out.

Back to your regular waiting now for updates........

This also nicely solves the issue of cutting thin magnetic sheet into neat circles to "nest" a GW sized base into the DFG bases, so that my Eisenkern can be both systems.

What type of store might carry such a tool?

There is a word for a wargamer with an empty paint bench.

Dead.

Awesome tip, thanks for sharing!

In other news, my FLGS had a Crusader that came in yesterday because it "just looked like a cool model." Got to chat briefly about DFG too.

They no longer have that Crusader and I may mysteriously have a full lance when the second wave arrives...

Sorry I haven't responded here yet, got a few pms asking where to get the 1" punch so here's the eBay link. http://www.ebay.com/itm/350806698194?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
Probably not nice of me to put this out there but I offered $10.00 for it and the guy countered with $12.00 shipped in us.

I found the set of the twelve other sizes for around $11.00 also off ebay shipped. It was from another seller though. There are a few out there that have those, only one o two hat post the 1".

Nice! Another completed one. What are your plans for the base?

I really need to borrow my father's airbrush (Father's Day IS coming this weekend after all...) and get started on mine. I'm just going to do them in a Grey Knights-esque theme I think, because I love me some Grey Knights (one of the few fieldable 40k armies I actually have painted and all).

First though I want to wait for the 15mm version to come in (smaller, so less area to cover) to see how they turn out first as I plan to use those as either Contemptor/Dreadknights anyway. If only Wave 2 would ship...

None, as of yet. It is quite stable all on its own. Also for the foreseeable future it is highly unlikely to leave the display cabinet, as I have no game system to use it in, so no need to worry about it on a game table.

I assembled a 1/100 Tomahawk Destroid a few weeks back, as a back-up plan for Tau. The thing looks positively puny next to a full-sized Leviathan Crusader.

Looking across at the table where my built Levi is standing, it's right next to the mostly built Revenant titan that I bought off ebay a few years ago. The Revenant has the Crusader on height, but loses out on bulk, so I judge it a draw.

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but if you have the Eisenkarn stormtroopers and were wanting some "open face" helmets with no gasmasks, Warlord's WWII German helmet heads seem to fit pretty well. I'll try to get one painted up to post on here.

It looks pretty cool, might work for a person wanting to do a garrison force or something, where they'd be less concerned over wearing their masks.
