Looks good Mad4Minis! Although imo a light wash on the silver would round it out nicely

Its got a black wash, then drybrushed the base silver. Pic was taken with a cell phone camera, so a lot is lost. The black doesnt hide the detail as much in person as it seems in the pic either.

It's looking very unlikely that I will assemble mini-mortis' before the end of the summer break.. :(

Part of me is hoping that they are being delayed because they are trying to fit a bit more stuff in Wave 2. There wasn't a lot in it compared to the other two.

Mortis 28mm
Crusader 15mm
Extra-Arms 28mm

Am I missing anything?

The command squads were phase 2 I think?

I think so, but I'd have to check on that.

Nuts. I just checked the KS page, and command squads are indeed wave 3.

Wave 2 is just the Mortis, Mini Crusader, and full size weapon arms.

It might make sense to tool both minis at the same time, while you're at it, and get that out to market. Because no one wants those, right?

Does the delay in new toolngs effect the production of previous sets? Last I checked War store was out of the basic troop boxes

Bummer that it is really, really looking to me like Wave 3 won't ship this year. I'd like an update from Mark when he can, just giving us the reality of it.

Ah, well, that's Kickstarter and I knew what I was in for

Indeed RiTides; caveat emptor and all that. That being said though, these delays really don't bode well for Wave 3 unless they're adding stuff into an earlier delivery date. This wave was relatively small in comparison to 3 kinds of armored infantry, the mini-mortis, mini-leviathan arms, the APC, the two mod kits for it and the command squad... It would be nice if they surprised us by bumping something up, but I wouldn't expect it really.

I know Mark doesn't want to put out an update of "everything is the same as it was" but I don't know what a reasonable timeframe is where you just ping your backers because you know they're waiting to hear something. We last got news on Wave 2 about a month ago, which seems like it'd be the minimum amount of time to start worrying for such a thing.

Hopefully we'll hear something soon.

You did? This was one of the early ones, with delivery dates of October, November and March - before delays of 6 months to a year (or more) became "normal". I honestly expected this one to be fully done and dusted long before now, and it's stretching out worse than CMON/Sedition Wars. We give Mark a lot of slack because he's a nice guy and is communicative, while we gak on CMON, but the longer this one goes out, the less confident I am in the whole thing... even with WGF involved.

I have full confidence I will get what I pledged for, just not that I'll get them in 2013. It's one of the pitfalls with Kickstarter. As you say, this was one of the early ones, but it still mushroomed out well beyond the original target goal, and as backers we convinced him to add in quite a few more things, and it seems that that tends to create... not exponentially, but a lot more delays than add-ons seemingly would.

I'm not upset at all, but I think an update basically saying Wave 2 is going to be fall and Wave 3 in the spring, if that's what it's come to, would be worthwhile just so everyone knows and can plan around it.

Went to check if Mark had posted anything to the KS comments and found this:

No update to share... They have been moving their shop over the last week + so I have not seen any new shots or any updates to share. On the up side, they hired a new representative that will function as a project manager/planner/liaison. This should help get things organized and scheduled, not much help for the time lost but a good omen for things to come.

So, no real news. I will opine that WGF really seems to have mishandled their scheduling of this project, but we are only hearing one side of that particular story. At least they do good work when they get around to Mark's stuff.

Runnin up on ya.

I think I'm going to just stop following this thread, it's just making me negative and oddly happy that I didn't put more money into the kickstarter for the later waves. If/when the parts I ordered for wave 2 show up, I'll be pleasantly surprised I suppose.

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do

It's kinda like Sedition Wars at this stage. You forget that you've got a mountain of stuff months overdue and outstanding, then someone bumps the thread or a month goes past and you check in, only to see nothing has changed/no meaningful updates and your stuff still has no estimated date to actually turn up.

Sorry to bump the thread guys, but this isn't KS-related (the actual, official KS thread is buried in the Misc Miniature Games subforum, I think), so I guess it goes in here.

The Wave 1 stuff like Leviathans and Eisenkern are showing up on the websites of Multiple Uk retailers now - Wayland was the first I saw, but they're now also on Fireforge as DaveC pointed out to me recently, and I've just noticed them on the TrollTrader. So with that in mind, I'll probably be buying some Eisenkern very soon. But I have a couple of questions:

Is the Rifle Squad (10) box simply exactly half of the Stormtroopers (20) box, or does one have extras that the other lacks?

Are there sprue shots of the Eisenkern around somewhere? I'd like to see exactly what the Accessory Set has in it, since I'm not very interested in the stretcher bots.
Same deally with the Support Weapons sets. Also, what's that sensor-looking thing with the mortar supposed to be?

thankies!

He posted up some pics that showed all the parts you get in the accessories box. They're probably way up towards the first few pages of the thread. I can get you pictures of the actual sprues if you like, I have a box I haven't done anything with yet.

They are absolutely packed with bits. I've never seen a sprue that crammed before. It's pretty crazy.

As for the 10 man rifle squad, I believe it only includes standing figures, whereas the 20 man box has a couple more poses, SMG's, crouching guys, and something else that I can't remember.

I'm pretty sure the rifleman box does not come with smgs or rocket launchers, and the 20 man box comes with four or more of each.

Yep there's an additional small sprue with the 20 man box that you don't get with two 10 man boxes. During the KS, Mark moved more rifles to the standard sprues so you could field a full squad of riflemen with the 10 man box, and moved some other weapons to the bonus sprue. I believe this is the sprue:

Thanks guys, looks like 20-man is clearly the way to go. I could kinda go either way on the accessories box, since it's not cheap (the price of another 10 guys, or not too far off a support weapon box) and has a ton of stuff I'll never ever use, despite having some good stuff in it.

Might take a couple of orders, but I'm thinking 3x support weapon boxes and 2-3x 20-man infantry boxes will be enough. Even with that many figures, I can't see ever using even half of the accessory box...

Yeah I grabbed 3x20 with the KS so got 3x Accessory sprues freebies which was very much worth it. I'd definitely suggest getting one so you can customise your guys, there is so much more you can do with the accessory sprues. More than 1 is probably overkill though as you say, there's so much stuff on them. I really hope other ranges start doing the same thing, and that Mark ends up doing the same with the Valkir.

It's worth noting that the helmetless heads from the accessory sprues work really well (imo) with Cadians, fixes one of the glaring problems about Cadians, Sadly the arms don't suit much due to the Cadians wearing fatigues on their legs. Hmmm... wonder if it could be done replacing Cadian hands with EIsenkern hands...

The accessory sprue is definitely worth the money. Even if yoh don't use it all for the stormtroopers, the bits will work for plenty of other ranges too. One set will more than cover a 20-man box, and probably work for another 20 if you're careful.

Was there ever any indication that the Eisenkern support weapon boxes would be split into singles for each weapon, or are the sprues 'integrated'?

Also....does Mark plan on doing Flyers? Odd to have an AA gun if you don't...

Quite, quite integrated. There's 2 1/2 sprues in the box. One is just the crews for the guns, one is the all three support weapons along with one large base, and the half sprue is the other two large bases.

The shadokesh have vestigial wings. Maybe they'll have some form of flying units, even if it's more organic than mechanical.
