People are seriously saying AoS? It has data spikes on it. Unless GW went back to that old, old lore about 40k ship crashed in WHF, there is no way it's not warsmith or warpsmith of some sort.

I can't see it. Khornate types are too dumb to be 'techmarines' (or even repair/replace missing PA bits), and the weapon would mutate into Khorne symbol (which has hammer like shape too so impracticality argument is out). Whatever it is, looks generic chaos, not marked.

The inside of the grille looks lighter, so I assumed it was heat of a furnace on the inside.

It's almost certainly a Warpsmith (or dark mechanicum tech priest, but they usually uses axes?). If you look at the "grille", it has highlighting in the lower portions, which looks like "heat". It's almost definitely not a speaker grille.

Didn't the leak with DKoK v Kommandos in it say Warpsmith? That's probably the Warpsmith.

WIth that leak/rumor from the other month, regarding a CSM update in 2022, did they mention a warpsmith?

I remember we're "supposed" to get:
*Chosen
*Bikes
*And cultists galore.

But a warpsmith seems long overdue

Yes the rumour dump from the guy that said DKoK vs Kommandos mentioned a new Warpsmith as part of a big chaos release so its most likely.

The hammer looks like it would be impossible to cast in fewer than three pieces, which seems like a lot for a human-scale model.

They might be able to do some wizardry to make it 2 bits, but I think you are probably right. All the spikes would make for a ton of undercuts, which is not OK for plastics.

For a HQ, I could see them going through the effort, but it’s a pretty detailed bit of kit.

Whilst there’s nothing fundamentally wrong with the current one, it’s still not a patch on its metal predecessor.

Hot take, the time between Rumour Engine pics and an actual reveal should be a month or so at best, because as it stands it's annoying to have unsolved teases for years.

That hammer has a crown, and it looks like a sort of grate on the head. I’m going with Furnace Kings for AoS!!!

Warpsmith seems the obvious choice. There's no way it's EC - doesn't look Slaaneshi at all, and it doesn't have any resemblance to Eidolon's hammer.

It's nice to finally get an obvious CSM rumour engine. Hopefully that means we won't have to wait too long next year to see the big release

Yeah my bet is on the warpsmith. The current one looks good, but it's still resin. It also aligns with some of the previous chaos marine rumors we've heard.

I know people want it to be Emperor's children, but the fact of the matter is that the EC rumors have been sparse, with some of the more recent ones suggesting that next year we'll only see World Eaters (iirc it's a long build-up to the Fall of 2022 when we'll finally get Angron and World Eaters), with regular chaos marines in the beginning of 2022.

Either way, it's one of the best hammers I've ever seen and I can't wait to see the rest of the model.

Edit: lmao, checking on the gw website, the current warpsmith is still on a 25mm base. Guarantee that's gunna change to a 40mm at least.

Looks like more of a mallet for bonking wooden pegs into holes than a thunder hammer to me, but seems 99% likely to be a warpsmith from where I’m sitting

Alternate option- Mutilator hammer arm. Maybe a kit of 3 Lator bodies with the option to build each as either a Muti or Obliti?
