Cheers guys. The orks were a bit of fun. Had to painted with the Twitch colours as the main 'clan' colour. Made a wee fun mini vignette t liven it up
Ulrik was a commission and one I really loved painting. Superb sculpt, one of GWs top character sculpts imho. Tried a few new things out on him and a new more resilient snow recipe as well. Really pleased with him

Cheers man - he really was a great mini to paint. so much lovely detail and character in him. Base was fun wee simple build - nice piece of slate and a touch of the ol' homemade snow

Working on Celestine. Marble armour......why not. DOH!!!!

I've been mulling over alternate Celestine schemes myself that still kept the 'golden saint' look, somehow white marble with gold accents didn't occur to me. Definitely works though! Are you just doing her, or others from the set as well? I'd love to see your take on Greyfax!

Cheers Para. I'm waiting on FW to deliver a primarch for another commission so have some me painting time will be doing all three from that set. Cele now then Greyfax later. Gonna be painting Cypher on stream for giveaway soon too.

Finally got all caught up with photos! Yay (bloody hate doing photos >< Finished off another of the lovely Deathwatch:Overkill fellas - The White Scar, Jetek Suberei (swear that boy was named after a cheap car). One of my mods over on Twitch 'suggested' that I paint Jetek's cyber eagle as a red-tailed hawk so I do, adn it was a pain and I'm never painting a bird again..............well............!!!!




And secondly is the Mhara Gal Tainted Dread from Forgeworld. Painted this big brute up and the gave him away - lol. Lovely mini ('mini' he ain't) to paint. The details are just gorgeous, even if he is a stinky wordbearer

No worries @Yorkright and thanks very much for the compliements getting some stuff finished up at the moment before I start on a bigger mini this week - Mortarion!! He's a commission so wil be doing a lot of the painting live on stream over on twitch. Just need to get Miss Fancy Pants St. Celestine finished up first

Great stuff you've been putting together, Jan. Love that Marble on Celestine's armour, and the Mhara Gal Contemptor looks fantastic. The only thing I don't really like as much is that your showcase pictures in the frames seem to have the contrast cranked up much more from your WIP pictures, so we lose a lot of the subtlety in the painting.

hmmmmm - intersting. The wip shots are just shot on my iphone with no background but the showcases are done with my Canon Eos but i never really go near the contrast as the lights n lightbox (and camera settings of course) give me the look i want. i prefer the strong look mind you rather than a more washed out shot which the phone gives. Thanks though. I might try and give lighter look next time I'm using the big camera though and see how it looks.

Love what you'really doing with Celestial. The marble armour is inspired. (You mad man )

Celestine is coming along. Couldn't stand having her in bits anymore so put her together. Still got some stuff to do but she's getting there

Is that parchment that holds her up really fragile? Because it looks like it would snap if you looked at Celestine crossways. Seems like transporting the model could be tricky.

yup - the parment rolls are how she's attached to the base. theyre not as fragile as you'd think and quite springy - so faR I've had no problems but yeah...........defintely need to be a bit more careful than usual
