I do wish they had made Incubi plastic, I'm not crazy about the metal either.

I know we all know what they look like, but here's a side-by-side comparison of the new and old models.

Maybe there will be a "Gary Morley" sculpt that you can add to the front hull of your new raiders/ravagers.

Darn. These new models are just so amazing in their details and especially proportions, that I'm tempted to start a small Dark Eldar force...even if I would never've thought of playing them before. Darn!

Why in the name of all that's ridiculous would you want "evil" Striking Scorpions?

Striking Scorpions look like crap. They're also, for all intents and purposes, the antithesis of the Incubi(considering the Incubi were supposedly founded by "the Fallen Phoenix").

Dark Eldar shouldn't just be "spiky Eldar". And thankfully...they really haven't been, in the stuff that we've been shown.

Y'know, seeing the side by side comparison makes me less keen on the new Raiders. They are the only item that I don't find much improved. I find the 2 Urien wassissnames about the same.

Concrete proof that contact with lead based metal miniatures and paints causes blindness.

The point is they are clearly derivative of CWE without literally being guardians with spikes on. They clearly have their own style and consistent imagery on a framework that makes sense for their background.

actually the new warriors look a lot more like spiky Guardians.

We must be looking at two completely different things then.

The "vibe" given off by the Kabalite Warriors is more "bestial" than the "organic" feel of the Guardians.

With Guardians, their armor looks like it could just be a second skin. With the Kabalite Warriors? It's obviously armor plating.

I'm not seeing it.

Like, at all.

Differences....
1.The Dark Eldar ones look less like muscle armor.
2. The Dark Eldar have more exposed face models.
3. The Dark Eldar armor is segmented and formed of overlapping plates.
4. The Dark Eldar have more unique helmets.
5. The Dark Eldar do not have boxes on their shoulders.

The more I look at the new Urien model, the less I like it. It's a Gary Morley throwback.
So many annoying questions about this model: Why he is trying to be Fabius Bile? Why is he floating? Why is he floating above Tyranid worms? Of all the arms he could have grafted onto himself, why did he choose useless looking, three-fingered zombie arms? Why is he making an Ork face? Why is he scratching his butt with a goofy looking knife?

This model just looks so 2nd Edition to me... I'm hoping the regular Haemunculi models are much nicer. I'll be making my own Urien.

You can't spell 'slaughter' without 'laughter'.

Oh yes, of course there's a resemblance. They're both wearing armor! Such similarities!

The organic muscled suits on Guardians versus the overlapping armor plates of the Kabalite Warriors. The more bulky, forced lines of the armor on Kabalite Warriors alongside the individualized trophies on the Warriors v. the Guardians' clean lines and regimented look means "no real resemblance" in my mind.

The Eldar have symmetrical boxes on their shoulderpads.

The Dark Eldar have no boxes and asymmetrical spikes and flanges.

The only way they're similar to each other is the fact that they both have tall hats so typical of gw elves.

The similarities are limited to the point that you can tell 1) they are both Eldar, and 2) their tech derives from similar designes.

So, no, I do not agree.

From the guy posting all the info over at BoLS:
Locephax wrote:Some Urien fluff: his presence is a great honour for the kabals/cults that accompany him on raids. He has died many times, but he regenerates. It is now to the point where he likes to try interesting ways of dying. But for some reason, each time he regenerates, he keeps bits of his old body - that's why he has like 5 spines and 7+ arms. He is one crazy bastard. The haemonculi built a big fancy tower out of living tissue and it is like an academy. They have even trained Fabius Bile there (Urien was interested in his experiments). He can make the small constructs troops, and he can give grotesques S6 instead of their usual S5 for 5 points each. He regenerates one wound a turn but cannot exceed the max.

Of course you agree with him. He's disagreeing with me.

There's nothing remotely similar between the two incarnations of Eldar we're seeing now. As I already stated:
Dark Eldar are all about the hard, brutal terminating lines. The armor plates overlap, looking more medieval and barbaric.

Eldar? They're very organic. The armor across the Eldar force retains that, things are very rounded giving off a less harsh feel from the models

ok so heres my reasoning behind this whole debate: things that look alike are the helmets and the shoulder pads

@Necrongod
And again, everyone else is telling you there's nothing similar besides vague shapes.

The helmets retain the same vague conical shape, but at the same time they also don't have the "face" that is present on the Craftworld helm, rather having a clearly defined Boba Fett styled 'visor slit'.

The shoulders are also an issue, as they don't have things that scream Craftworld Eldar. The Craftworld variants are flat, and don't reach above the neckline. The Dark Eldar shoulders have a kind of 'gorget' that rises up above the neck, giving a more heavily armored and menacing feeling.
