I put together and painted some Roman temple columns and a pedestal from Hirst Arts just to try it out, and trying to figure out a good scheme.

Leftmost is black spray primer, and one dry brush of applebarrel’s pewter grey and and one dry brush of granite gray.

Middle is just light grey primer and dry brush of apple barrel granite grey

And the pedestal is a base coat of apple barrel pewter grey and a dry brush of granite.

I prefer the easier one of light grey and granite, but people say the pedestal is more natural.

Well I'd say what you like is most important. Afterall it's your terrain & you're the one painting it. (middle pillar looks fine btw)

Turns out Supressors and Inceptors have very different jetpack systems for some reason. Seeing if I can adapt my 3d printed smoke plumes to match. Might just dig up some of my old Inceptor jumppacks instead.

I finished another death wing terminator. I’m going to start on the Deathwing Champion next. I bought him second hand and he doesn’t have a Crux Terminatus, so I am going to have to freehand that. I’ve done some freehand chapter symbols and those turned out well, but this will be trickier.

Secured copies of Waaargh The Orks, Ere We Go and Freebooterz for my Library Of Past Joys.

Ended up sourcing them from eBay, but overall got some decent deals, relatively speaking.

Side bonus of the Loot Group is having a few favours to call in when a eBay seller only posts to Canada/US.

It’ll sting a bit on the second batch of post costs, sure. But when the only copy of Waaargh in the U.K. is going for £800, and the copy I bought was £114? Yeah. “Thank you Sir, may I have another?”

Had a weird night where I had to keep diving into the parts bin because apparently I forgot half the bits need to build an intercessor. Did manage to get my Supressor to work with the 3d printed smoke plume I printed, but I really need some intercessor/assault marine sized plumes to match the exhaust ports

Now its on to the other two supressors. I'm pretty excited to be this close to having finished my marine queue.

Got my hands on a cheap copy of the Sylvaneth Battletome the other day & it finally got to me.

So, in-between bouts of paperwork today, I'm studying said tome trying to determine how our Sylvaneth player could make a more effective army (or at least play what he's got more effectively).
He started the tree-folk for our current Path To Glory campaign & even though he has a pretty good win/loss ratio he's been having a rough time of it.
I figure I'll use this forced down time we're all enjoying & become proficient with yet another army....

I'm working on a necron terrain piece(s) to go with my quarantine necron army. (Boy it might be nice to be utterly immune to regular diseases...)

These were at a dollar store in a 2 pack.

https://flic.kr/p/2iTDDQR

https://flic.kr/p/2iTFcgW

https://flic.kr/p/2iTARCG

(BTW, can someone tell me if there's a way to get images from flickr to show up here? Yes I tried to image tag, no joy.)

I saw these as obelisk like construct shape and grabbed two. Maybe I should have gotten 4 but oh well.

I plan on putting them on at least a 2 layer foamcore base and doing them as necron monuments. I'm not sure what glue to use as these don't seem to be styrene, they are fairly thickish, actually, but softer amd more flexible than styrene and just don;t quite feel like it. I may have to experiment with the inside to see what if any glue sticks to it. (suggestions?)

I would love to put like a clear green glass or plastic pyramid atop them but doubt I'll find anything just right. (Again, suggestions?)

Maybe if I can glue to these some glyphs on the sides with the necron symbol. At least it seems some paint stiucks to them as they are painted already.

Repaired some Varanguard I bought on the FB AoS board. I really wish people who tend to trade models would:
A) build the models correctly
B) remove flash
C) use superglue, not plastic glue. Ugh. Oh well, only one issue with an arm not seated up against the reins.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Just finished building & painting the last few spells (Emerald Swarm, Prismatic Palisade, & Soulsnare Shackles) from my Malign Sorcery set.
It's one of those things where I'll only build/paint a piece if I'm going to use it in a game. Or sometimes a piece while watching TV/Netflix/etc. Well, tonight I reached the end.
Oh, and drew up some hypothetical Sylvaneth lists.
