That's a good idea. I guess this mammoth thread could be split into a different army for the Sons of Horus...what do people think?

And yeah the artwork seems to show sons of horus with a lot of topknots around the time they go traitor. And these will be the Sons /just/ before the battle of Terra. (So the list will also include a bunch of demons)

I'll be keeping the line troops fairly 'loyalist' in look, with Horus and his close bodyguard being much more chaosy. Since I figure it wouldnt have trickled down that much to the lower ranks yet in the way they decorate their armor.

What do you use for your Blood Raven's red formula? I'm getting together a few shade formulas and deciding for my PH Thousand Sons... I like the fact that yours almost has a bluish quality to it.

Either way, gorgeous miniatures- stock or not, you're a painting machine, man!

We had this discussion on my mantis warrior blog a little while ago as it has become a monster. The consensus was that in spite of it's size, there was an underlying narrative that was continuing and as such, the blog would be better as a single entity. I tried to address the size problem by occasionally making summary posts and linking them from the OP.

Since you're starting a new narrative, it seems very reasonable to start a new thread.

Dude your stuff is incredible. Loving the Librarian conversion, almost looks as if he's just landed and is mid-way through smiting the Emperor's foes 8)
Also, fantastic work on those Sternguard, as HF Izanagi said, in the recesses and middle of the plates, it has a dark purple look to it, amazing

I have a niggling feeling I've asked this question before, but could you run me through exactly how you paint your Blood Ravens? The red armour in particular looks fantastic.

Perhaps you could create a tutorial article, with step by step pictures? I'm sure it'd be much appreciated by everyone who's marveled at your work in the past.
