Rules-wise you could always use Bran Redmaw, the SW character from IA11, as your wolf-man. His rules are more towards the werewolf side, with him being able to turn into a wolf monstrous creature during the game

Well Archer, I could actually get a model of the original wolf man (Reaper makes it)... but I thought it wasn't scary enough when compared to all the other hero models... if I'm going bigger... my skin wolf works fine, especially proxied as Karanak.


The Army List
Well guys... been a bit of a buying/wrangling spree. Here is how things sit at the moment & I'm pretty comfortable with it. I got out ye olde Army Builder and drew up a list based to 2 CADs (which are both necessary based on the number of HQs involved & one allied list.

Listed below....
FOC slot: (monster) - modeling notes - rules

Chaos Space Marines:
HQ: (Dracula) - Astorath body w/ chaos bat-winged jump pack - Chaos Champion w/ jump pack & power axe
HQ: (Demon) - Khornate Demon Princey looking figure - demon prince
EL: (Frankenstein's Monster) - Contemptor Dread - contemptor dread with extra arm
TP: (Zombies) - 10x zombicide zombies - chaos cultists
TP: (Zombies) - 10x zombicide zombies - chaos cultists

Chaos Demons:
HQ: (Wolf Man) - skin wolf - Karanak
HQ: (Witch) - Lilith modified to ride a broom - herald of slaanesh w/ seeker chariot
TP: (Devils) - 10x bloodletters - bloodletters
TP: (Goblins) - 5 ish bases of multiple grots - nurglings
FA: (wolves) - however many I have Fenris wolves - flesh hounds
FA: (bats) - various sources arranged - furies

Chaos Demons Allied Detachment
HQ: (Thanatos) - changeling figure with staff converted to scythe & painted appropriately - the changeling
EL: (Ghosts) - 3x flamers of tzeench painted ghostly colors - flamers of tzeench
TP: (Mummies) - 10x awesome Reaper mummies - plague bearers

That's the entire list in under 1500 points! 1499 to be exact!

Well... whadd'ya guys think?? As of this moment... the only figure I don't have or haven't arranged for is a demon prince/old blood thirster. Everything else is a lock.

I can't wait to see you getting started on this. In particular, I love the idea of Lilith on a Broom as your Herald of Slannesh.
Is your goal to have it completed by October 31st, 2015 or 2016?
Also, does this get its own P&M Blog, or are you going to Mantis them up slightly in order to keep them here?

That list looks great! I'm not a daemon player, but I thought one of those heralds wouldn't have to be an HQ choice (which would mean you wouldn't need the allies - which shouldn't matter to anyone but isn't always allowed for self-allying). Maybe a daemon player can chime in on that, are heralds always HQ choices?

Everything looks perfect monster-wise to me with the one note that Lilith on broom (which is perfect as a herald of slaanesh!) if on chariot is supposed to be on a really big base. Not sure if a herald can just take a single seeker as a mount rather than the chariot.

Anpu I'm guessing this will get its own thread! Although imo you could start with the Contemptor here since it's where you came up with the idea, but maybe that's too messy for you (you do have really well run plogs, after all). Also 1500 points seems like a perfect level for a fun little project like this (there are quite a few models in that due to the "chaff", but hopefully you could do them in a bit of a speed method).

Maybe he can make an upside down base where the top is larger than the bottom, but shows appropriate footprint. I'm thinking he needs to build a house above the which that's about to drop on her ( a la wizard of Oz). If he makes that out of wood then he can enter it into the League of extraordinary riveters comp that ends dec. 13 in the painting and modeling forum.

Sorry Rygnan... didn't see your post in the roll-over. That's a very good idea, but I'm really trying to carry this off with just the two chaos codecii. Sounds like a really good solution though. Perhaps I'll keep that for a separate themed detachment.


It would be very helpful to know if I could take that herald as a what?.... Auxillary choice as opposed to an HQ choice.... but it won't make that big a difference overall.

Not a problem, and looking at the list you've written, it seems better than using Redmaw anyway! This is gonna be an interesting project to watch, and although it's a shame the Contemptor isn't going to be a MW one, it's an interesting idea and I love the execution so far. I love all your plogs/armies so far, and I'm sure this will be no exception, as I'm particularly fond of converted up chaos armies (Krautscientist and Biohazard's World Eaters are among my absolute favourites)

OH, and for you long suffering Mantis Warrior fans who were just robbed of your contemptor dread... I provide this as a peace offering. Had a major airbrush malfunction which you can see if you look carefully. However I'm not going to completely re-paint it. I still have the dark shades to do so it'll look a lot different when the airbrushing is finished.

Some of those are for Thing 1!

Predator peace offering is nice although it'll have to wait until Halloween, right? Unless you hire some minions!

MODcube envy happening here. Hopefully it didn't arrive right after I left for work or I'll have some 'splaining to do. I'm off Monday so it would be perfect for them to show up then .

What was the AB malfunction? Water in the line? I mean, I did notice the booboos, but I had to look for them!

bugger about the airbrush issue. I had that when doing a coat of yellow on a mates WK and the yellow got obliterated by a small fraction of water in the line. I even offered to strip and re do the whole thing for him.

Water problems.. Should be easy to fix with a good over spray.
Like the Old pred. Will fit in well with the early version of the MW's.

That is one crazy green tank. I love the old predator.

I just wanted to give a shout-out to Justin at Secret Weapon Miniatures. On Sept 30th I ordered a bunch of jack-o-lanterns & skulls for my chaos army.
