Very cool as always. I need to get a Contemptor too. Shame that there isn't a chaos version, I might have to start a new army for it...

Elnibbus: Thanks, your SW stuff is building along nicely.

jamo: Thanks mate. I can really recommend the Contemptor kit, such a treat to build and paint. Maybe we will see a chaos version when the new CSM dex hits the shelves.

Now I have also finished building my Wolf Guards. Here they are before priming, of course I still take suggestions and comments if you have any.

From the back

And the magnetized arms

I made them by using the hybrid design between terminator armor and power armor, as I have done in for my characters. I have this image that the mightier (and older) SW just get bigger at the same time. And also to make the characters and Wolf guard stand out more from the line man wolf.

Let me know what you think.

I like them. They look beefed up but not out of place. The poses are great and the small green stuff and wolf bits make them look part of Red Wolves already without the paint job.

Can't wait to see them finished.

Hooo, update time!

It has been a while, but during last week I was able to put some paint on these guys.

So here we have four finished wolf guards to lead my GH packs. Armed with power fists and custom built combi-meltas. Arms are magnetized so I can change the equipment, keeping eye out for that edition change.

Let me know what you think.

You managed to make these look even better than I expected painted. The detail and small touches really make them feel alive.

Vitruvian: Depending on the load outs, the army's size is now around 2700 points.

Metsuri: Thanks, sure took their sweet time, good to see that it paid off

Managed to find some painting time every now and then so I was able to finish these things.

First off, fourth Rhino for my latest Grey Hunter squad

Then I also made two Razorbacks for my Long Fang packs

Second one with scratch built turret

And a group shot of the latest transport armada

Happy to hear your C&C

The tanks look good, again the small touches and details pay off in making them stand out. The first razorback is my favorite of the bunch, the chipping and the additional markings on it are perfect.

Thank you for the comments gents

Newest addition to the army, LRC. I managed to finish it already in the last days of 5th ed but only recently had the opportunity to take pics.

And here's the pics.

Always happy to hear feedback, cheers.

Again sometime has passed, but again I have gotten some new stuff ready. So here's some WIP pics of my terminator bunch with few characters thrown in.

The big blob of Wolf Guard terminators with Arjac and Logan

First half of the group. You can see scratch built cyclone launchers, have to wait and see how they turn out in painting.

Second half of the set. I also used Forge world SW kit on these guys, which I bought about four years ago, finally got to use it.

Now idea what war gear is good, so made very variable set of toys for the WG. I also installed magnets for all of the hands(48 magnets!) so that I can update and change the equipment when I get some more feedback from games.

Logan and Arjac. Logan was scratch built and converted from various pieces but Arjac was straight from blister, made an adjustment for his hammer hand as the original pose looks weird IMO. This was also my first Finecast model, so far no big complaints.

Close up for Logan, mostly used stuff from SW kits, some odd bit around here and there. And a majestic pose for the great wolf was must.

Breakdown of Logan, I think I have to paint these before gluing them on to get better coverage.

Next up is painting these guys, happy to hear any comments you might have.

Cheers

I love the bone colour scheme, looks great. Finecast Arjac has a very slightly droopy hammer. No big deal, happens to the best of us.

(By the way, you are the Northern from the Jade Vessel thread, I'm a big fan).

They look real good. Really like the Lord of the Wolves....much better than the stock model. I'm suprised that you've not converted Rockfist too.

Have you biggerised the terminator at all?

Thanks for the comments gents.

Bruticus: Thanks, I tried to straighten the hammer with hot water, maybe I should try hair dryer or something to get more stronger reaction. And yes I am Northen from Jade Vessel blog too, It was a great project and it's very nice to hear that you find it inspirational (even after these years)

Vitruvian XVII: Thanks, I hope that he'll be painted soon

PHD: Thanks, I had the idea of making my own Rockfist, but when the model was released I was quite happy with it (the hammer hand was in weird pose, and the shield could be bigger, but otherwise ok) and it was perfect excuse to try finecast model for the first time. Maybe I will later try to make my own version.

I didn't biggerise the terminators that much, only like 1-2mm in the feet and waist. Really don't know how to do it with terminator armor. Logan was biggerised, it made him somewhat bulkier but not such a big difference. I think the terminator has better portions than power armor already at starting point, and these guys look nicely more beefy than my regular marines.

Another update, has been sometime since last one but now finished the 12 Wolf Guard Terminators. These guys took forever, combination of laziness and huge amount of details in modern plastic kits.

But here they are, in true SW style all have different combination of war gear. Also I made magnetized arms for them so I can try different load outs.

First patch of six

Second patch of six

Whole pack

Here's the Forge World Space Wolf terminators made before current plastic kit. Now after four and half years of buying them they are finally painted

FW terminator shoulder pads

Some ways I made individual pack markings on the terminator armors

Happy to hear your thoughts

Great stuff! Bet the army is looking good. Roll on army shot.

Really like the varying details/glyphs on the top of the armour.

Still think the two FW chaps are better the than the straight up GW ones.

What have you got planned next? Edit - guess it will be Logan and Flying Hammer chap

grrrfranky: Thanks man!

PDH: Thanks, I think I want to make few more models and then take the updated army shot

I also dig the FW termies, too bad there is only two designs. Plastics are ok, specially now that I have seen the amount of detail they have. And the termi kit has some really nice key component for cool SW conversion builds.

Yeah, next up is Logan and his hammer toss champion

Lovely lovely lovely your Logan conversion is great, although im not sure about the beard yet, maybe when painted it will look better. Just looks a little rigid compared to the rest of the model. Other than everything looks great, also how did you do the missile launchers?

Another update after some hiatus. I finished these models some time ago but did not take pics until yesterday.

So here is some of special character whose WIPs pics were above.

First one, Arjac

Another Runepriest for the army. I got this model years ago as I liked the design, but only now I had the excuse to paint him.

Then Logan, wolf king himself, happy to have him finished as I was quite exited about the conversion.

And something new, squad of Land Speeders with some added wolfiness

Always happy to hear feedback.
