Thanks sc0ttfree

I am also a huge fan of Migs work, and have to say I have taken my own share of influence from his work over the years.

Here's the newest patch of Grey Hunters ready:

500p 15.4 of April deadline is getting close, lets see if I can make it. Settled that next mont I'll make an third squad of Grey Hunters (and the last for a while ) and move on to the "fun stuff" in late May. With three GH squads I'l have nice base of troops that I can build an army on.

Great stuff!! The new scheme is really settling into a nice, strong, very 40k feel! Almost Blanchesque! And from me that is about as high a complement in terms of style as possible.

Maybe some of the posing could be a little bit more dynamic/varied with the future troopers?

And a great thing to start with the basic troops and then on to the fun stuff! I have very high expectations for your heros now. I hope you push them over the edge in terms of what SW characters usually are - something even more feral and 40k gothic - like you've done with the troops.

They are great, and they really look like something you wouldn't want to be fighting...unlike ultrasmurfs who you would just take the piss out of cos they're bright blue

They are really brilliant and look like they have seen battle! Top marks!!

I know, thanks mate

Next patch will be more dynamically posed, and with the next unit I 'l try to put even more effort into this.

Imperial Monkey: thanks , agree about the smurfs

Unfortunately I will have to cut down painting time for the rest of the week, so the other unit won't be ready for the 15.4 DL But I'l hope it will make it in the weekend.

Phew, last minute update for "Tale of four finnish gamers" first DL

Here's the latest patch of Grey Hunters, which now completes the second squad.

I fell a little behind as I din't get to make the Planetary empire tiles for our campaing. But that's more work for this month.

Now there are 20 of these bad boys ready. This month I will make a third quad and some kind of HQ choice.

Comments are always welcome.

I really like them. Keep up the good work. Really liked your old army (I have even played against it way back) and this is really nice update.

This whole tale of four gamers gives lots of inspiration and motivation for my current projects. Would be cool to see you guys in Ropecon. I'm trying to do a daemon army there and a small ork force for christmas.

Thanks jamo, nice to hear you remembered my old army, sadly for me your eldar gave them a bit whooping back in the days . I hope to have this army in some shape before Ropecon and it would be nice to see you too and get few games. Be sure to post some stuff when have it ready.

Finished building my campaing map tiles, fun little project:

Here's few close ups,

Wolfs lair, my SW mountain fortress HQ

Looks like a big blob now with wolf head , hopefully painting will save it. Might yet add few tech bitz too.

Your poses have been a bit static (for wolves), so I'm looking forward on your 3rd Grey Hunter Pack as you promised more varied poses. The last update figures look good and they do have a bit more mobile poses already. Great to see you have finished the first batch now (something I haven't done yet).

The special terrain looks great! It'll be fun to come up with some special rules while fighting inside the Orbital lift or storming the Wolfs lair! (Altough this is not a SW world, so did your force just build it or was it there before for some reason? Well no big deal.) This is exactly the kind of stuff we want to be fighting over in the campaign.

Now I'm glad I haven't built any map pieces yet. I wasn't planning on any complicated conversions on the tiles, but this stuff just upped the ante. I will have to come up with something equally great looking to match these!

Yay, new update

It's been a while. Unfortunately real life got in the way of hobby time(lost my hobby area for while for example), but now I have gotten some new stuff done.

Got the third Grey Hunter squad assembled, that biggerizing process realy takes it's sweet time, but the details are fortunately more fun to build.

Here's the pics:

Did more dynamic poses than before (atleast IMO) and decided to give all the three squads the wolfy banner, that's why there's so many poles.

Also used Microart studios Barbarian heads, good tip for anyone looking for more SW style heads outside GW's range. Pic below,

Also have started painting the campaing tiles showed earlier, hoping to finish them during June.
C&Cs are always welcome.

Excellent work on this new stuff!

I really like the biggerized marines, and the map tiles have a very different look, with your minor changes.

Makes me want to buy that tile set even more, damn....

The poses on this last batch are nice as well, more action´y than the previous ones. The fourth one in the first picture seems to be a bit..... "About to fall"?
Not sure if this is so with the actual model, or if it´s the picture.

I tried to pick a favourite out of the other nine, but couldn´t. They´re all great!

Well there's always rom for one demotivational poster marine IRL it doesn't look that bad IMO, but in the pic the pose looks indeed a bit overdoing it.

Imperial Monkey: The drum clip is from ork shoota, the best source. Requres some "gentle" touches with hobby knife before fitting to bolter chasis.

AWESOME updates mate! Thank you very much for inspiration.

My bloody new camera broke, so it will be some time before I can get pic of my tiles and the vet squad I am working, but at least I finally have some time for some hobby stuff.

Looking great, Jussi! Glad to see you've managed to do some updates on your army, even if the heat and vuvuzelas have tried to stop you from it...

I haven't touched my wolves for some time as I'm currently painting my (Flames of War) SS-Paranormal division troops for Ropecon... 3 platoons of new infantry + some tanks and arty pieces on the side.

Hello, another update worthy of stuff done.

Got a bit motivation from our hobby meeting last week and sat done this weekend to finish off the last GH squad. Also put in some extra effort and finished my first HQ aswell

Here,s the las patch of four from the third GH squad:

And my first HQ, Njal the Stormbringer. Never have used that many special characters in game but saw this guys rules in the codex and knew that I had to try him. Plus the model is ok, very wolfy.

Not quite sure what to do next. These GH squads need transports of some sort, but Long Fang squad would also be ok, or some Fenrisian wolves or some new HQ's. And that plastic juggernaut box is looming in the near future, thundewolf cavalry, here I come Decisions, decisions.....
