Thank you people.
Migs: Yep, you are on
Young Logan: I think I'll so some long fangs next and some other HQ, then some transports for GHs. First I'll build the army based on some solid mobile GH and long range Long Fang fire base with some assault elements. Later I hope to have the motivation to build lots and lots of units for this army so that I can try out all sorts of lists.

Kravus: Thank you for asking and I might do one. It just takes hours to make one, even simple one. Did one for the dakka tutorial contest last spring, thou it was fun too, it took lots of extra effort to pull it of. I might do one when I get started on the vehicle models. Larger surfaces, better and easier to explain the methods I think.
But here's the update. Last week I continued to build stuff.
Here is the first Long Fang pack for the army with few custom built missile launchers.
After this got bit excited about the Juggernaut riding Khorne champion from FB line. So wen fort and bought one and made my version of Canis Wolfborn:
Went for a bit cowboy look here as I modeled some extra equipment eventhou Canis won't propably care that much for them, but they fit quite well for the "lonely rider" image. Might still go around there and add some details but basically it's there.
Comments are always welcome.

I think it needs furr sculpted from greenstuff. It looks to much like a jugernut imho. Nice conversion otherwise.

Thanks for the comment. I didn't want to overdo the fur at first, but I agree with you now that some more is needed. I have also been sculpting the armour's legs to look bit more power armour like and scratch building a banner pole for Canis.
Also hoping that the paint scheme will go long way to differ the thing form juggernaut and thunderwolf.

Ok sweet, I can also remind you that if your satisfied with this conversion and want more thunderwolves GW has just launched jugernauts in plastic: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440160a&prodId=prod890007a
They are still only on advance order but after the 21 of August they should be released in the shops.

More stuff done.
Continued working on Canis. Sculpted GS on the legs and added some plasticard on them to make them look more like power armor legs. Builded a banner for him too. Added some wolfy bits on the Juggernaut to make it more fitting for the thunderwolf role.
Soon to prime him, and start painting.
And here's some new stuff too. Builded a runepriest this weekend. It's based on migsula's true scale pattern mkII where you use terminator armor as basis for the marine. Initial tought was to build the characters using this idea so had to test it at least. Based on the SW terminator kit with scratch build runestaff and some GS work with odd bits from here and there.
Size comparison
This week also built a pack of Fernisian Wolves, but have to finish their bases before posting. Next up is waiting for those plastic juggernauts
Comments are appreciated as all ways.

"built"
The Rune priest looks great!
There's only one clear "mistake" and that's the width of the shoulder guard trims. 90% of Termie-up-scale marine builders do this. It should be half as wide. Massively thick trim eats so much of the bulk and mass of the torso and shoulder guard area.
I am also building some "wolves" this week. A pack of Dune Wolves, evil and cunning creatures that hunt the equatorial plains. (modified chaos hounds)

Now that you mention it, some volume should go off from those trims.

Migsula, are you referring to the thickness of the plastic?
I have noticed that people leave it, so that it would scale up to a couple of inches thick at a guess.
To me it seems a lot of extra weight on ones' shoulders and was intending to thin down the insides.
Northern that is super work and a nice touch yo have the book being closed like that.
Much niceness dude!

Hello again, it has been a while. After last update I have had some major changes in my personal life as I moved from Finland to Japan for few years. So I wasn't too active on hobby side last fall. But still have managed to do something, so now it's update time.
Long Fang pack I showed earlier, now painted.
Did few changes for them as I got some feedback after I showed them here, added one helmetless head an, adjusted the thumb of the hand holding the missile and some other minor tweks.
Also painted pack pf 10 Fenrisian wolves, using chaos hounds as basis. No major conversion just left out the big horns and spikes, stuffed out the scales and rooting parts and played a bit with the 40mm bases (you can fit stuff nicely into them)
Happy to hear your toughts.

As ever, seeing Space Wolves makes me seriously tempted to have a go myself. I think it is the most fun army to play the game with and obviously full of modeling potential and variety!

I like the colour scheme on the marines and the chaos hounds look fine as wolves. Besides if you've been keeping up with the Horus Heresy.....
I really like the colour of the wolves flesh and the contrast to the dark grey fur.
Look forward to seeing the rune priest done....the bionic eye makes him (I have a thing for bionic eyes).
Are you planning on having any vehicles and if so are you going to make them bigger?

Ok, update time again. Managed to finish up the Runepriest.
School work is keeping me busy, but the plan is to continue the Thunder wolf cavalry next. Allready carved out the chaos icons from the plastic juggernauts and started some GS/putty work. Next up is to finish assembling the riders so I can start to design the details. This is also fine chance to try out all different sorts of weird hobby equipment I have found here in Japan. I'l keep you informed. I'll post some WIP pics, hopefully in during the weekend.
Let me know what you think.

I'd seen everthing except the Rune Priest who is clearly pick of the bunch for me! Overall the image of your army fits that of prospero burns very well! Have you read it yet? Should be great for inspiration.
I am slightly disappointed you didn't fix the shoulder trims though. Their width eats away from his bulk. It's this final 10% that to me is 50% of the magic.
Very much looking forward to more and hopefully a group shot at some point!!

FantasyBob: Yeah, I have plans to add some more wolf like heads to the juggernauts.
PDH: Copper parts came out nice, even in the pics
Migs: Thanks, I did re-size the trims smaller, but I guess I could have taken even more off. For me it looks ok, but on the next character I can try it different. Haven't yet read the Prospero novel, have to pick it up (when I find some shop that sells them ) The group shot would be nice but it will have wait.

But you should aim for awesome No, but you make a valid point, as long as you like it, it's enough. If you do this biggerising to be closer to art and GW imagery, then this kind of nitty detail does add up from nice to wow.
Is there no way to biggerize rhinos cunningly? What with rapid prototyping and other semi professional solutions at our disposal. I think I am going to biggerise mine, but alas, I need one So it's a different challenge.

WIP pics of the Thunder wolves and Canis I showed earlier(continued with some sculpting). For now I made four riders based on the platic Juggernaut.
Anyway, here's the pics
First Canis
I did some sculpting on his legs to make his armour look more power armourish, and re-did the Juggernaut's head to resemble more wolf like creature. Details don't seem to show that well in the pics as I also usually sand my greenstuff little after it's dryed as my sculpting is a bit "rough" , guess I will have to wait for the primer to realy unify the model.
Thunder wolves
First pair, rider with basic equipment and second with Storm shield.
Second pair, rider with Thunder hammer, rider with meltabomb (just dislodged it form the saddle). Down sized the TH a bit from the SW kit as I felt that it was too big looking for power armour marine.
Juggernaut heads followed the same design as for Canis, and then builted these feral style saddles with all sorts of equipment on them to add more SW flavor. Finally added some SW iconography. As for Canis, I also hope that painting will cover up some of my GS work (especially battle damage)
Let me hear your comments.

Well after intense month of school work I finally had some time do hobby stuff during last weekend and early this week.
And here is the result, finished up Canis Wofborn
And close up on man himself
Took suprisingly long to paint, but stii, nice project. Let's see how long the TW squad itself will take.
Happy to hear your feedback.
