Most people feel the same way.
Just assemble the plague catapult, take the warp cannon barrel and put it in here:

I just ordered the magic cards.. last time I missed out on the high elf cards :( from now on if there's a while stocks last thing I want, I gotta just order it from GW. Missed out on the collector's ed of the new rulebook too cuz I thought they'd let my local shop at least get 1 or 2 to sell but instead GW wanted to be stingy.

Don't even have the army book yet but I like the heraldry book, I'll pick em both up when I'm ready to start an army. Right now I'm too busy with too much other stuff but I didn't wanna miss out on the cards

Ugh. Guess I'm going to start scheming about making a Skaven army, only never follow through on account of GW being pricey.

And interesting range of bits there. I noticed that Treech and the Abomination are both on ruins that have similar designs. Are they Dwarven? (Based on the Dwarven ruins on the box for the Abomination)

Going to get the Magic Cards. But perhaps not the models. Looks like some scrote has stolen my Skaven army, so not really in the mood to go buy a whole new one right now.

Really? Bad luck, how'd that happen?

Well, the GW store I used to work still has most of my stuff in it gaming wise, from when I went on (and promptly failed) the managers course.

And now my red box o'Skaven cannot be found. Which sucks balls.

That Tretch has a boat-load of character... Love the sculpt!

Ikit's a very nice rendition as well. Not 100% sold on the HPA. There was a much "nicer" resin version IMHO in the "people sculpting stuff using GW's IP" realm, from a country where GW will never get them to stop, but they were asking way too much... I prefer the previous Warp Cannon to the current one, but I guess they were limited by wanting to make a kit that could be used for either a Warp Cannon or Plague Claw.

Still, more great Skaven stuff. Almost lets one forget the Monkey-Dog Giant Hand abominations of the last round of plastics!

That's the second time at least I've heard that today from a friend. I agree, they had to sacrifice a bit of aesthetics on the new kit in order to make a chassis that worked for two different builds. I'm wondering how difficult it would be to cut the profile down a bit when building the Warp Lightning Cannon. I ordered one today so I guess I'll be finding out in a couple weeks. I am happy about it being plastic, the previous kit is one large chunk of metal I prefer to do without no matter how nice looking it is.

I really like the HPA, looks like the b****** offspring of a cthonian from h.p. lovecraft and a skaven mad scientist. I wasnt gonna include one in my skaven army now im tring to work one in, my skaven's fluff is now taking on a sinistrer aspect (deep ones can have multiple meanings lol)

To drown our sorrows with our English beer!
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of alcohol blows in our ears,

Preordered the cards and book from GW last night, will wait to see if Maelstrom gets the HPA and other bits before I decide what I want to order model wise.

A HPA is a given though.

GW web store does not show the Uniform Guide as a splash, but "independent sellers" are showing it as a splash, which means if you want to buy it from an independent they'll only be able to get a limited number of them to sell, but it should be available from GW for a long time. This is similar as with some other items in the past year that GW sells continuously, but independent stores were only able to get a "splash" of them when they were first released.

I wrote to The War Store early this morning and asked if they'd have the new Skaven items up on their own Advance Order page before the big sale this coming weekend and they said yes and the codes are now up here, including the Uniform Guide.

Well, instead of starting a new thread, I'd rather post it here in this Warhammer Fantasy thread.
Here is what Harry says on the next Tomb Kings release:
2-3 months ???
Not so much.
Even 6 months is too optimistic.
However they are still shuffling in our direction .... although now just visible on the horizon.
(...)
I picked up at Gamesday this year that we should have TK ... 'by this time next year'. (IE By GD 2011) I think if they were in the next 6 months I would have heard something more. If they were in the next three months I would know for sure by now.

It doesn't look that bad if you see it in person. The hpa kit looks complecated as hell to put together.

Indeed it does. I forsee, some time in the distant future, masses of HPA on ebay going cheap on account of being balls of melted, plastic glue drowned miniatures put together backwards!

No more so than any other larger GW kits. I see Rhinos, Predators and the like put together so badly so often with glue drips and smears all over them it's amazing. A lot of "hobbyists" have difficulty with models that have any complexity at all. At least with the HPA it's supposed to look crazy and random.

I have to admit I am loving the new skaven models, in fact I love anything thats plastic multi part, much better then the old days.

I'm really looking forward to see what they will be releasing for the orcs in March seeing as my new year resolution is to start a WFB O&G army.

The HPA looks really good. I'm afraid it'll be one of those things were it gets annoying to look at so many of the same torso But the rest of the body is pretty customizable, so they won't ALL look the same.

Uniforms and heraldry? Where did that come from? Has GW ever come out with a $74 supplement for any other armies (Citadel's "how to paint space marines" is the only one that comes to mind)?

It was started by the one for The Empire a few months/year ago. Its a small book containing images similar to the Space Marine painter (only that its for The Empire)

Something else that has been suggested to me by GW employees at 2 different stores... a 2nd part to the 2nd wave? Another army or more Skaven? They hint at more Skaven, but for the life of me I cannot see what they can put out... food for thought.
