Apparently there maybe a third wave as well according to one of the GW managers who used to work at Warhammer World. I don't know whether or not to believe him but it would be nice to get a decent gutter runners kit.

i can confirm this as 100% accurate, having seen all the new shinies myself
big fan of the warp-grinder and the doom flayer models. and the HPA is suitably awesome and ridiculous in equal measure

Perhaps. But the past few months most Advance Order additions to the GW website have been on Tuesdays, and supposedly they changed that to Wednesdays from now on in consideration of their store operators, many of whom are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. It's a way of capturing more Advance Order dollars in the stores rather than having people be forced into doing it from home on days the stores are closed.

Tsk... another two/three days you reckon? I've never been so impatient to give GW money. Though if I can do it via Maelstrom, so much the better.

I've been checking the GW Warhammer Advance Order section all morning. Nothing yet, but the Skaven stuff and all future Advance Orders should be posted on a Wednesday according to the new GW wisdom on that designed to capture more Advance Order dollars in GW stores.

It's friday now and still nothing. My bet is they are waiting on the free shipping thing to end before they post them.

I'm betting they just put it off another week because they didn't want it competing with the December splash items they are still trying to push out of the warehouses like the Monster Figure Case.

And I'd be surprised if free shipping ends soon, it's been a huge winner for them. All that "only X free shipping days left" stuff on the website, isn't that about the number of days left for free shipping where they can guarantee delivery by Xmas? I don't think it's about ending free shipping entirely, it's about not having to pay for upgraded shipping methods to ensure delivery before Dec. 25.

That and the factory shuts down over Christmas. Two weeks I believe?

They'd be foolish to stop the free shipping, it's the only reason some people buy from them still.

There's nothing in the small print about it ending any time. There used to be I think, but not for at least 9 months I'd say.

Minor update by 75hastings69 over at Warseer:
New Skaven stuff featured on GW website next week.
Preorder starting 29th December.
January White Dwarf featuring them has release date 8th January.
Skaven release is 15th January.

Seems like the new Skaven are already shown on new release booklets in all Spanish GW stores for at least 2 days, but noone in Spain could be tricked to photograph and post them yet. So we have to wait. Only confirmed: HPA will be 39.00 € and warplightning cannon/plague catapult will be 26.00 €.

So... $45 or $50 for the HPA, and $35 for the Cannon/Catapult. I guess those are reasonable prices with how things have been.

HPA 39 euros? Interesting. Guess that means it will be around £30 in proper money. Most intriguing!

WAnt them now dammit. Even though I have lost my Skaven army (yes, I know).

Oh gak, too bad I didn't read this yesterday, I would have go my nearest GW to try to take a couple of pics. It won't be opened again until Tuesday, and I won't have time then... >_<

I'm really looking forward to seeing pics of the 'official HPA' and, quite frankly, I cannot believe that pics have leaked out yet!

They really did a fantastic job with Skaven this go around, were I to start a fantasy army, I think it would have to be them, so much character and a really nice cohesive feel across the line. Looking forward to eyeballing the new models, hopefully this week!

Yes, but here in lies the problem with some of the older stuff now looking very outdated, particularly the plastic Night Runners with huge hands. Still, at least there will be models for everything in the book now.

Yup I hear ya, pretty much unavoidable though unfortunately... I don't actually play the games, just a hobbyist, so I suppose if these were thing I HAD to have to play effectively I would be a lot more uncomfortable with older models like the Night Runners, I see your point.

Off work now, so I am camped on the GW web page pressing F5 repeatedly. Mrs Flashman believes I should be using the time more constructively...

There's a bit of that already with the Plague Priests in the battalion box. They are the old models based around the aesthetics of the Night Runners that were developed for Mordheim (or certainly around the time of that game). Usually this wouldn't worry me much but the new Skaven models are very stylised and have sharply angled muzzles. That then means that many of the old rounder faces look very odd. But having said all that GW re-released the old metal rat ogres which were horrible (but are more in line with the recent aesthetics of mutilated and bandaged monstrosities). I guess that speaks to how dire the plastic rat ogres are. I'd rather go hunting for the ones from the big box from 'bits' sites/ebay.
