If you're looking to bring a 2000pt army, I always find that mine fits comfortably within an army case which fits airline carry-on luggage size restrictions. I always fly with my army in carry-on. The Sabol Army Transport fits exactly within the required dimensions. I believe the Battlefoam equivalent also does (maybe a touch smaller, but with more efficient tray layout). And of course, a regular GW case also does, if you have a particularly compact army which can fit in one of those. Of course, if you've just got DE full of Raiders or something, even the larger cases probably won't quite do it.

Adepticon 2015: Team Tourney Best Imperial Team- Team Ironguts, Adepticon 2014: Team Tourney 6th/120, Best Imperial Team- Cold Steel Mercs 2, 40k Championship Qualifier ~25/226

I am still researching how exactly I am going to cram 3 Vendettas and a bunch of tanks (and ~60 infantry) into airline carryon lugguage. You should see some of the diagrams I have been working on trying to maximize those two bags you can take! I am so jealous of Deathwing armies right now...

Q: How many of a specific demographic group are required to carry out a simple task?
A: An arbitrary number. One to carry out the task in question, and the remainder to act in a manner stereotypical of the group.

Hahaha, who would have thought travel and 'carry on luggage' would have been a form of army comp to prevent leafblowers

Has anyone ever tried shipping their army via fedex to your hotel or something? We do it all the time for business travel, I assume if you ship yourself a package at the hotel you are staying at they can hold it for you until you arrive.

I believe the Hyatt has this service like most hotels do; I also believe Dash of Pepper is looking into doing it with them.

It's actually a pretty legit idea, for those who are flying (which I recommend if you can get a good flight, since the hotel has shuttle service to DCA and the Metro, and everything is on site or within a short walk to any of the billion bars near there).

People do that for Adepticon every year, especially for bigger army displays for the team tourney. Works great.

Full Details coming soon, but sign up for your Hyatt reservations if you haven't yet.

A couple of notes here -

First, you can reserve your room by following this link, and/or calling the Hyatt.
https://resweb.passkey.com/Resweb.do?mode=welcome_gi_new&groupID=3217963

Second, sign up for a free Hyatt Gold Member Card at the Hyatt website if you haven't - it'll get you a few free nice perks, I use it and love it personally when traveling. It's similar to most other major hotel chain "cards."

Third, do please reserve a room at the Hyatt - it saves you a lot of time and energy, situates you near where everything is going down, and helps the con - in case you weren't aware, all of the major GT's that operate in hotels work off a room sales contract of some sort ... the more rooms we rent, the more prize support we can generate, the less cash it costs the organizers to run it, and thus the higher likelihood we can afford to keep running them!

Finally, and most importantly, we'll be holding a raffle on Sunday afternoon of the GT. Anyone who reserves and actually stays in hotel rooms will get a number of raffle tickets directly proportional to the # of nights they stay, and how far in advance they reserve. Reserving is free, so do it sooner than later. The raffle will include up to a $1,000 cash prize, simply for staying at the Hyatt during the GT.

It's the best game ever. I have to give credit to DaBoyz forum, for catching this first. I have to give criticism to myself for not doing two things subsequently:

1) Replacing the image with the new and accurate one everywhere!
2) Not getting zee joke.

The NOVA's website will be updated this week, primer packets for Team Tournament will FOR REAL be out.

We still have approximately 40 spots left in the singles 40k event due to up/down fluctuation.

Cool news, that I can't talk more about yet, but a certain well-known author from across the pond is increasingly likely to be in attendance and involved all convention long, as well as potentially some southern developers of high repute.

What happened to your normal handle Mike? All in all sounds like good stuff though. Now if I could focus long enough to pick an army I'd be good

*question answered*

Went hunting again and found the post with the link about the reservation raffle. I was just checking to see how it would be handled but noticed the link mentioned you were still working it out. Registering tomorrow so I will keep checking to see if anything additional needs to be done before arrival.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy My brothers. And you will know My name is the Lord when I lay My vengeance upon thee.

The raffle is *almost* finished in terms of nuance, but you're looking at some random items, 4 x $250 cash, 1 x $1,000 cash, and your # of tickets = the # of nights you stay factored by how far in advance you reserve.

So, if you're coming to / attending the NOVA, reserve a hotel room, is basically how it goes. Link to reservation is on frontpage of the site, and will still be there when the new site is rolled out in the next day or so.

Let me know if I can help out w/ reg questions, should you have any.

The IFL still has some fantasy players, I'm going to cross reference this on our forum.

I might be dense, but I go to the link:

And I don't seem to be able to find any rooms for the 26-28, are they all reserved?

I just gave it a shot myself (I've already reserved) to check it out, this is the link off the novaopen page

Select "attendee" then your days, and you should get rooms. I only saw king bed rooms (109.00 a night, still great deal for the area), + some other more expensive swank rooms, but I know there were (and may still be) rooms with two double beds. Have to wait for MVB for that portion
