Quite a few Anime stories have rubbish and rather contrived endings.
Even if your life is hanging by a single thread and the bad dude is even more powerful than ever before, the mere thought of friends is enough to make you kick his butt.

This summer I watched:

Full Metal Panic (All three seasons):

I enjoyed it a lot. It was funny, it was serious, and I cared about the characters. I recommend it to everyone.

Phantom: Requiem for a Phantom:

I watched it because I wanted to know what happens next. It was very disappointing. They could have done some cool things with the series, but they didn't.

Eden of the East:

HOLYGAFARGLEOMGWTFBBQAWSOMESAUCE!

Good GOD is this show good. It is a great thriller, a great plot and my only complaint is that it is too short.

Fate/stay night is pretty good, gurren lagann, kiddy grade is a good space cop anime, excel saga, gundam wing is a classic, so is berserk.

Am currently watching Usagi Drop which is really sweet with a sad start. Very gentle and lovely anime.

Sorry no demons, fighting, jujitsu nor mecha but I like.

No clue how shipping is, but if you don't mind buying used I've gotten some awesome deals off of the Amazon.com marketplace and through half.com (an ebay site a lot like the amazon marketplace). Most recent one was picking up Outlaw Star for about $20 shipped. That was a good series too.

So yeah, everyone should watched Outlaw Star if they haven't.

Just made it through another round of Elfen Leid & Paprika.

Ponyo is next on the list (I am not excited about it, but GF is wanting to watch it.)

I miss Golden Boy. :(

Ponyo is an adorable movie. Beware of extraordinary cuteness. I wouldn't say it's Miyazaki's best (I hold a special place in my heart for Castle in the Sky, myself) but it was a decent movie.

Anyone remember that Jack and the Beanstalk movie with "Tulip" the giant?

Jack to Mame no Ki.. I loved this one. It's almost as old as I am.

Sounds interesting, I just started karin, it's about this vampire girl who, instead of sucking blood, gives it, and gets nosebleeds when she's embarassed.

Has anyone seen Spice and Wolf?

I heard it was good, but the premise doesn't really sound like something I would enjoy.

I enjoyed it. It's not a typical anime, being that most of it's about trading and bartering.

Forever alone

Bought the first K-on! DVD yesterday. I love me a heartwarming slice-of-life anime. The dub is crap though.

Highschool of the Dead was excellent. Fanservice, well-designed zombies, great characterisation, good writing, and a top-notch dub make it a definite winner in my opinion.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

HotD is dubed? DUBED! DDDDUUUUUUUUBBBBBBBEEEEDDDDDD!?!?!?!?!?

We had a game of zombies at a church, that the HotD theme was the first song on my playlist for the night. Good times. The OVA is stupid though. Funny and worth my time, but stupid...

Angel Cop.

It's best watched with English Dub (the dubbing is hilarious) and the English Subtitles going at the same time, just because they often are quite different. Makes for a more fulfilling experience.

"Christ, you fething bastard I'll get you!" is what he says outloud.

"My foot my foot!" is what's written.

"I ain't saying" is what he says aloud

"My foot my foot!" is what's written. Again.

The last time I watched some anime, I found my box with some old ass tapes in it and so had a small marathon.

Akira (anime or no, awesome flick)
Ninja Scrolls
Legend of......something. It was a fantasy type movie where there was this giant snake wall that separated the gods from normal folk. And some people on the other side of the wall could change into animals and such. Bah I cant remember
And finally the Record of Lodoss War, all but like episode 2 or 3. That one came up missing many years ago and Ive no idea what happened to it.

So it was a day of enjoyment. Or something anyways
