Apologies for my apparent lack of existence. End of uni year and summer schools. The only good thing about spending 2 weeks over summer in the lab is its at nottingham uni, which means a nice trip to gwhq. They randomly had a rhino outside this year

I have done a few bits to the leviathan, which is finally shaping up.

Ive spent the last week or so rebuilding the shed, im finally allowed to convert half of it into a secret lab/workshop

After another extended period of disapperance, I have now moved half way across the country, but finished exams and the like for the year.
The leviathan had to stay behind at the parents due to lack of space on the move, so is on hold until I go get it.

While I was meant to be revising, I got all creative and felt the urge to build something, so i started the generic thunderhawk

I need to get some new glue to get any more work done on that, and with an untouched dark vengeance box sitting on the side, I thought id have a look in there.
Until now I had no chaos, so i thought i'd take the opportunity to try some new chaosy techniques. I nurgled up the helbrute (to the best of my limited experience anyway) and am working on building a whole set of interchangeable weapons.

yep, the base is foamboard and skinned with plasticard now.
Thanks, chaos is new to me. I think ive managed to build every weapons option apart from 2 power fists.

I cheated on the tracks in the end, I decided it would take away what little sanity i had left making that many links. I got mine from ebay, i used these ones

you'll like my next project then. I've just sold off my guard army, i've got far too many armies and the thought of painting the tons of infantry is really offputting. I do like tanks however, so im planning on building an armoured battlegroup with the cash

Besides, tanks without infantry support is just another name for tinned rations (when you're an Ork or a Tyranid at least).

That's the second saddest thing I've heard all week but hey I won't doubt that your next project will be just as cool

i wasnt expecting such a negative response. Surely its an upgrade, countless infantry for 12 or so leman russ. Its mostly the 80 or so undercoated guardsmen that i cant find the motivation to paint makes me want to trade them for tanks.
As a further insult, i was considering selling the ork army too, but ive got the grot tanks ive never got round to using yet, and i think they might be fun

Yup, 12 tanks will provide you with lots of building opportunities, and I can completely understand why you find the prospect of painting 80 guys all the in the same uniform so daunting. I keep forgetting what it was like to only paint for a few hours a week.....

I have most of an entire Guard army in the closet. I'm having issues painting right now, but I've always wanted to get back to them. They are the most daunting army I have though.

It takes a special crazy to paint a mob of guardsmen, I know all to well. Just look at it as temporarily re-orging.

Invest in some Army Painter spray primer is your base army colour. It'll cut painting time in half. I managed to paint 1500pts of Imperial Guard in a month spending just two hours a day on them: my lunchbreak and an hour after work. Still for fairly good results:



Army Painter Spray is a godsend.
