if it was with, than i would make it not as wide, right now it reminds me of the one from the barret 50cal , but i also like it without .. and i definatly like the avatar.... might i ask what it is?

smaller muzzle for one...then shorter barrel... and..without would look to blank...

Im sure theres a tank that has one like it, but I cant find it right now.

I also vote "Shorter Barrel".

I like the muzzle brake...but I agree it is too wide. -Mounted on the beast, it would definately have some sort of recoil system the standard Russ would not get, just so it didn't tear itself from it's own mount...

That was my thinking. Thats why theres no hatches or anything on the turret, cant imagine someone wanting to poke there head out of a hatch 50 foot up.

I havent done anything in a modelling sense for a couple of days, Ive tried to avoid even looking at dakka, it draws me in.
The extensive list of things i need to do before a week of drinking in a field doesnt stop growing.
The tracks shoud arrive tomorrow hopefully and ive ordered some vallejo air paints. I only hear good things about them and the main reason i dont use the airbrush is i cant seem to get a consistent finish with watered down GW paint

Hmmm I think that the GW Baneblade has a suitable Muzzlebrake bit. Brian is that the kit? I think you used one on a Bassie to pizazz it up.

I found what i was thinking of, its the muzzle brake on a howitzer. Still too wide, but thats easily remedied.
I also actually looked at the long list of assignments due before download festival and its only a fraction of what i thought. More time for building then

More time equals more awesome for us, I say that's a win win, you get awesome models, we get to drool over said awesomeness.

Not done much on the leviathan recently, caught up on some assignments and sorted the next batch of homebrew. Then the post arrived with the vallejo air paint, so i thought i'd try the airbrush again and maybe have a go at salt weathering.
I overdid it on the salt a bit, but the airbrush was lovely to use with the right paint. It sprayed evenly with consistent colour and i think i'll invest in some more colours.

And a shorter barrel with a smaller muzzlebreak would look great

Still not much to report, been busy finishing the last bits of uni work before I go away, were leaving on Sunday now and going to Nottingham for a few days before the festival. Anyone here from that way got any suggestions of where to drink, preferably of the belgian persuasion.

On a modelling note however, the track links have arrived, so expect some progress

You're going to drink some Belgians? That's just mean.

Not sure I'd want to drink an actual Belgian, they're almost French. But they do make a tasty and pointlessly strong beer

Girlfriends can be a useful bunch. Mines painting a bloodspatter patern on her nails right now.
Lounging in the sun has taken priority the last few days, but I fixed the muzzle brake


and built a couple of turrets. I decided the big one was too big, so built the smaller one, which I prefer

I had a nice email the other day from the guy I bought the tracks from, he offered some free part in exchange for using pictures of my project for promotion. After a couple of emails, he offered to cast me some copies of my scratchbuilt turret if he can retain the copyright and sell it.

Now, I really must get on with an assignment, something to do with the link between smoking and hearing loss, due in 13 hours time. I acquired a tyranid harridan this morning too, which has been calling me to build it all day.

and the turrets look very godd indeed... so getting them casted is a good deed...if it is the same guy i have in mind his tracks are very good looking indeed... and with your work then i bet it helps him boost his sales!! good luck mate!
