There is something appropriate about a APC named after an animal with a rearward facing pouch.

I'd say go with combat wombat.

Yeah, I was pulling for Echidna, but Combat Wombat puts a smile on my face when I read it.

Eh, maybe it's just because "Wombat," with no combat, was my idea, but I just think that "Wombat APC" sounds much less silly than "Combat Wombat."

While I love the idea of an APC with that name, 'Wombat' would be more appropriate to something with heavier armour that burrows...

I say, put it to a vote here on Dakka, so Combat Wombat can rightfully defend all comers, and we can exalt the magnificent bastard who that suggested that.

Apparently great minds think alike. The small, compact shape, the (imagined) growl of the engine and the needed tenacity really led me to think of a Wombat over anything else.

TBH, I'm not too enthused with "Combat Wombat," sounds like a kids cartoon. No offense or anything, I just don't like it.
