@ Tek Thornison: Added, pretty solid looking bunker (or was)

@ gotbugs: Welcome, nice start, enjoy destroying it

Don't forget peeps that you don't have to make a game table, it can be small,

Magic goes wrong, no smoking signs exist for a reason, Michael Bay gets to make transformer films. Accidents are everywhere. For those who still can't think of an idea disguard the accident part

@ GawdamSumbish: Yep, an entire competition's worth ... you could call it a meta-entry

I'd just thought I'd quite like to make an empire steam-tank that had gone out of control and was stuck moving in a circle with crew members hanging on, on the outside, and some idiot running just ahead (WH giant kit running guy) but running in the same circle that the tank is moving in.

Or maybe a row of shops selling booze and maybe a tea shop, not sure where I could go with that one.

@ EyeamRai: Very cool, if you have clay on hand, could you not just wash it off? ... Good luck with this, check out the tutorials section for tips, you may want to start with a core of foil or some such. I've had zero experience with clay outside of art classes in high school ... which I failed magnificently, so I'm pretty interested to see what you do with this.

@DrH: Interesting, I know it's fairly rough so far, so don't worry too much. Good luck with figuring out what it is going to become, I can think of one or two ideas.
Nice use of random stuff so far though I'm sure it's going to be awesome when you are finished.

I've started to throw the prizes together, ATM there is an approximately 250g sack of resin bits for first place, I can think of a fair bit more to add too...

More terrain building peeps.

I like where the ruins are going Tek.

Cam, I thought you already had built an Ork blimp? Back to the drawing board or did I miss something? Looks like it's gonna look great though.

Good work, Tek.

I take it that the three sections of your blimp will be standing separately, Cam?

Here's where the UFO is at the moment.

Still can't tell where it's going? I now have an idea and can picture, in my head, what it could turn out like. So bare with me.

This is the bulk of the shape. The additions from now on will be getting smaller and smaller...

Looking good, Dr H. Looking forward to seeing where it goes from there! :-)

In the top right/bottom right image the circular thing could almost be a wheel of a giant doom/dune buggy ;-)

I'm entirely too prone to distraction, so although I finished my test piece and kinda have an idea of what I'd do for the final, I've been working on other things... Unsure if/when I'll be inspired to pick up the pieces and get back to working on this competition (I might even end up doing something entirely different to my initial concept). :-P

I'm fresh blood to the site and happy to find there's a healthy scratch building of terrain happening on the site.

Currently working on some terrain might have a look at if I can incorporate some of the challenges into the table.

Well, thanks for asking! Howsabout yourself?

If you're after terrain... nada. For the moment. I'm pretty sure the actual terrain will be fairly easy... but what should I use for the body of the splatted graboid? Lots of gw technical paints for blood and maybe the nurgle pot too.... but the thing kind of looked like a bag full of meat that hit the ground and splatted open.... what would be best to replicate that?

I guess I could have it in the process of falling?

@OMN--doing well enough...progress has stopped on my contest entry as i am working on a scratch-built squiggoth, but i have plenty of time--7 weeks or so, right?

some of us are still waiting to see what YOU have put together for the contest...

@GrimDork--i would think about air-dry or bake clay. make random lumps (and of course some squiggly tube-like things for intestines)...then hit it with a high gloss paint, or paint then a high gloss sealer to make those graboid guts glisten...

Actually, what might work best is to just replicate the situation. Get a paper towel tube, soak it in paper maché stuff until it's nice and soft, fill it full of tubules and bits of putty and gribbly bits, then throw/drop it onto the surface you're going to be using.

@Anvil ..... get out of my MIND! I was thinking about doing something kind of like that. Maybe out of plaster cloth since it gets hard but it's still something you could break and collapse.

@GS and you may have suggested the innards to fill the bag with, cool.

Thanks guys, I'll get around to it eventually

That's coming along nicely there MT some nice and tidy work what have you used around the bottom of the building for detailing as that has worked a treat

Are you doing inside out as you have added a fan on both sides by the looks of things.

I made the first two stones. I think they could survive if I went ahead and baked them but I feel like they'd be fragile.

I'm going to get some skewers and make some foundations for the thin stones.

I'm going to make an foil frame work for the goblin statue.

I'll be working on them more this week so I have plenty of time to solve the problems that will come up.

Forgive me now! Tomorrow I may no longer feel guilty...

@Monkeytroll--buildings are looking really good. kind of sickeningly good. are you going to ugly them up at all, or are you going for a non-dystopian look?

@Rai--got any WIP shots?

i am further along on the squiggoth i started after the scratch built Leman Russ i started for this contest...still trying to decide what i want to do to the tank. using firecrackers or one of my pistols have both crossed my mind...

also started cutting out pieces for a Mk.I Land Raider...because, you know, i don't have enough on my plate already.

ldd - I'll put some details up on my blog tonight Not planning on having the interiors for this comp (which doesn't necessarily mean I won't ) but putting certain bits in place as I do plan to do them at some point. As planned the dio is to be viewed from the front only.

Gawdam - present plan is to throw more gribblies on the side - Blade Runner, Ghost in the Shell and Fifth Element are all on my stack of reference discs for watching during that phase

SW1 - My main go-to is EMA : http://www.ema-models.co.uk/ Although I always end up with a hefty bill when I drop in there Textured sheets I get from a variety of places - EMA is not the cheapest for those, I use them for the sheer variety of bits available.
