I believe that Kronk is correct about ruff being correct.

It is an interesting...theory that Reaper is delaying pricing info due to the fact that retail pricing is in fact cheaper than Kickstarter add-on pricing.

I thought we were hearing the opposite?

I haven't heard anything about the prices changing. As a kickstarter backer, I'm happy with the value I'm getting. If they found out they can do it and charge a buck or two cheaper now, I honestly don't care.

Maybe some of the smaller add-on models could end up being cheaper, but the $10-$15 dragon and giant addons... probably not.

Paizo.com is taking pre-orders on just about everything from the KS right now, and I can tell you that there are definitely things that are cheaper now than they were during the KS. I know the two elemental add-ons are now cheaper (if the paizo listings are correct). If I remember correctly, they were $15 as an add-on, but are now $12 or $13 if you buy both at retail. Other than that, I believe there are maybe 1 or 2 other things that came out to less than their add-on prices.

I don't think Reaper is intentionally delaying pricing info releases, I just think that it's unimportant compared to what else they are dealing with when it comes to the project. Of course, this is entirely speculation on my part.

Right, I figured bones wouldn't see retail until the KS all shipped, does that seem to be slipping to July or August? Or are they shipping in waves, so when a wave of models is shipped, that wave becomes available at retail. I have noticed 'some' bones models are available retail now via their site.

I don't think there are many with price issues, I just have heard the elemental (the models I want) have been a point of contention. I just want them, and don't mind paying for them

There we go. Okay, from what I can tell from Paizo's price listings, the two elementals are $14 at retail (both are 6.99 list price on Paizo's shop). From there, it looks like everything else is more than the KS prices, although some things are much more discounted than others.

This is just for the Dark Heaven stuff, but there is also a page in the bones section for Pathfinder licensed and Chronoscope, if you wanted to look.

Nothing is going to be shipped to retailers until ALL the KS orders are out of the door (and the retailer specific Undertaker level pledges will be the very last of the KS orders to ship)

that said some independent retailers did buy in at Vampire + Add-ons level so you may see some stuff showing up (not in blister packs) in stores earlier than this.

That's my understanding as well. We've seen the new bones at a local FLGS, but they are just the polybagged loose figs from the Vampire KS.

All of the Bones that you see on this page existed prior to the KickStarter, or were released around that time, independently from the kickstarter. I suppose they might be the test launch. Once those started selling well (and I heard they sold initially VERY well), they did the Bones Kickstarter to do everything in house in the future or whatever their plans are.

They said during the KickStarter that they weren't going to sell any of the KS Bones models until they were done shipping the KS packages, IIRC.

I wont be bothered if some models end up a buck or 3 cheaper then I got them for, I will be bothered if mass amounts of bones start to appear in retail stores before I get my stuff.

Which ones?

Reaper Bryan posted about it somewhere, the only ones I remember were the 2 forces of nature (elementals),

I think because they ended up needing less tooling (fewer parts)than expected

I dug out Reaper Bryans post from the reaper forums and here it is

"The purpose of Bones as a product line was to provide an affordable yet high quality alternative to gamers and hobbyists. It does that well, in my opinion. The purpose of the KS was to raise the funds to jump-start the line from 29 models to 60, and ended up being well-liked enough to take it out to just over 240.

Retail pricing was determined in a vacuum - we used our pricing models and the costs we still pay (shipping, packaging, labor, overhead, and buying the individual units themselves) and determined reasonable price from that. The fact that we could put $0 in the "mold cost" column, because the KS funded that kept prices down even further - and in this case, at least, that made the difference.

We're sorry about the Forces of Nature. As the line grew, the quote changed, and those models in particular had a larger reward rate than expected - so the Per Unit came in cheaper than anticipated, and we were able to charge less. We *could* have artificially priced them at $7.49 (to make them equivalent to KS price) or $7.99 or higher (to make the KS have been cheaper), but we felt that would be cheating."

Thanks!
Found the thread and the RRP $6.99. As it happens, I bought (ordered? pledged for?) two sets of the Forces of Nature. So it seems I've paid $2 over the RRP for those 4 minis. While some people might think from my posting history that it's the sort of thing that would send me into an apoplexic rage, I'm not without a sense of perspective, so I find that I don't care at all.

It did make me browse through the Reaper KS page again though and see all the models due to come. I reeeealy wish I hadn't done that. August is both so close and yet so far. I can't even properly comprehend how much stuff is going to arrive. (And my wife and I's KoW ones will come in August, as well!)

Frightening isn't it!

I'll need some more boxes to hide stuff in (I know many of the more D&D PC type figure will never see the light of day again)

fortunately for me I think the hoped for Bones arrival date will be a fairly KS free zone for me (more because of delays to other projects than careful planning though!)

Update #93
First, a quick note about Origins. We had been looking forward to seeing you there, but unfortunately we won't be there this year in a booth. Our brother Tim Peaslee will be running demos, so be sure to say hi to him when you're there. We can't do a proper booth this time around because we simply can't spare the labor right now.

Why can't we spare the labor?

Friday, June 7th, we received two 40ft containers full of Bones! For those of you keeping track at home, those containers were filled with over 470,000 models. We're still looking for the last container to be delivered next week, but we have enough to start shipping now.

What's next?

We've unloaded the containers (we have the bruises to prove it). We're getting those models organized into our system and firing up our fulfillment line this week.

We know we're behind our estimated ship date of March, so we've added a second shift for fulfillment so we can process the packages very nearly 'round the clock. We're doing everything we can to blast through these pledges so you can receive your Bones as quickly as we can manage it.

Thanks for your continued patience and support.

Also, there are some pictures of what appear to be "Kaladrax Wings" at the bottom... = http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1513061270/reaper-miniatures-bones-an-evolution-of-gaming-min/posts/506028

a bit more from the reaper forums

that box has kaladrax & his wings (for no obvious reason the 6 part mould was labelled Kaladrax 1-5 and wings rather than Kaladrax 6)

and if you look at the weight he's heavy 1.25lb per model ! (just think of what that would be in pewter or lead!)

Cthulhu and Nethermauyl are also at casa de reaper,

the only big figure still outstanding is wyrmgear (I think his ship is in, it's just that final container hasn't arrived a reaper yet)

Canadian Shipments have been approved - we were cleared to go, and now have to put everything on pallets to be unwrapped in Ontario and disseminated.

Yeah. And if you're getting stuff that's in the final shipment (that Reaper are still waiting on) they won't be sending stuff out to you, either - until that final shipping container arrives. They're doing what they can.
