That's a proper snazzy tomato red, I really like it. Looks like a post office van

Not where I should be

I so want to get a bunch of these kits and mash up something horrific.

Great work on that red bud, really deep and rich, not to opulent. Just nice solid red.

Thanks!

Red is still waiting to get done, because hobby ADD.

Gong through some old boxes of even older stuff with potential terrain uses (doesn't everybody keep one or two, or twenty, of those), I rediscovered some - maybe model railroad? - street lamps. Working street lamps, at that.

And by old I mean propper incandescent 12V bulbs. One bulb was AWOL, the second one was burnt out, and the third one still worked and all. Though I love the retro trend, I felt like updating the lamps, so I got some cheat tea led lights to chop up and repurpose.

Note 1: , I thought I had taken more WIP pictures. Guess I got carried away.

Note 2: On the right-bottom pic: That was either a stroke of genius, or just a stroke of suicidal tendencies, pending final results. Cutting (specially 2/3 mm thick and larger diameters) circles is boring. I "experimented" with a motorized circle cutter by attaching a compass cutter to a bench press drill. Even minimum speed was still too high, but it sort of worked. Totally not under workplace safety regulations, though.

(In the end, I did not use the plastic circles for the bse and "recycled" some mini CDs I also had around waiting for better use, but I kept the ones I'd already cut, for "something")

Battery holder was the hardest part to figure out, ended up as a trash bin or something. Light switch is in a recess on the underside.

And primed:

.

I haven't put the other two together yet, might paint this one up first as a test model, or wait until the other two are up and batch-colour them.

And that's it for this week!

C&C are always welcome.

Thanks for stopping by!

Great to see you around, Red!

Nice light work.

Thanks, doc! A bit more progress, then:

Light is based and mostly done, maybe a poster of some kind stuck onto the lamppost, (or in one of the other ones, for variety. I still have two more to - eventually - convert, stick and paint)

Poor little led can't do much against the painting light...

With the shop lights off:

And started (ADD again, anyone? ) on this guy; I still love the Sentinels more than anything else in 40K:

Just the main base coat and some darklining, and quick basing, for non-grey basic table duty. Weapons are swappable, because magnets!

Almost done with the mini-knight armour too, but no pics of that yet.

Thanks for stopping by!

Assembly-line painting might be the way to get an army done, but it is so uneventful...

That's a fine looking assemblage there! I really like the contrast of the lighter bed roll colour.

Mandatory blog-keep-alive (barely) post!

Somebody said a Trojan does well alongside a super-heavy, good thing I kept the Chimera chassis options open!

Quick Trojan support platform WIP:

Riveted and primed, which always helps:

Paint should come next. Base will be muddied bone, to keep the tone of the rest of the cargo bed.

Wondering hoy to paint the crane, though... same green gradient as the hull?

I thought about yellow - because cranes are yellow, re they not? - but not sure it ill do well with the floor. Or a battlefield, come to think of it. Sme would go for orange, I guess.

C&C will be very welcome!

Cheers

Cheers, Cam!

Grave: Thanks, mate. Actually, I had a very moment after I read your comment, it certainly is the way I'll go with it now, thanks!

Guess unpainted plastic/primer has biased me against considering grey a colour, and I would have never though it an option without proper guidance!

What about the bed, though? Bone (as the cargo hold walls) OK? Or grey too?

Meanwhile, a couple pics of another half-scratch.

I had a Medusa gun lying around but no Chimera chassis to carry it or Krieg carriage for a battery, so I built one.

Only problem was that I proxied a heavy mortar carriage instead, - which is much smaller, - , so it looks a bit disproportionated even for 40K,

(Couldn't find the courage to weather the gun yet, so I only started rusting the base for now)

Thanks for stopping by!

Good work on the crane.
I usually go metallic steel for floors in tank-like things. But same colour as walls is also ligit for tanks.

Nice cannon you have there.
