So this showed up today. Bandai is making a High Grade Arbalest from Full Metal Panic. Of course, it's been 15 years since the anime originally aired and, beyond this being the year of its 15th anniversary, holds not much more significance than that. Also weird, Kotobukiya already has an Arbalest kit coming out soon, so I'm not sure why Bandai is making this one. Anyway, it does look nice.

Invisible Victory coming out next year is the reason for the Arbalest inundation. There's also the Metal Build of the Arbalest slated for March. If you ever wanted an Arbalest, 2018 is going to be the year you'll get your Arbalest.

A couple of new or resissued kits from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

http://www.culttvmanshop.com/search.asp?keyword=2001&search=

Starting with a 41" Discovery for $150

Would you like to know more?
https://culttvman.com/main/moebius-models-2001-discovery-update/

Hmm 41", that slightly taller than Kyoto Secunda or her clone sister Kyoto Secunda Prime...

For those of us of more modest means, a moon bus. I've had one in a box for a year or two to serve as a 40k passenger/cargo shuttle.

And the Pan Am shuttle, 1/60 scale is almost right for 40k if kinda squint a bit.

http://www.culttvmanshop.com/2001-Space-Clipper-Orion-reissue-from-Moebius-Models_p_3924.html

And of course the most iconic model of them all, the monolith!

Check out those details!

Going by the details in the novels, that monolith could be any scale - monoliths came in all sorts of sizes.

This one probably only extends into the usual four dimensions, though - not like the real thing.

https://culttvman.com/main/round-2-news-space-1999-hawk/

1/72 scale Space 1999 Hawk. I know I watched some of the show when I was a wee one, but have no memories of it.

With a new nose it can be a good generic space fighter/interceptor for a lot of universes.

That moon bus is fantastic and reasonably priced too. I'm presently needing various civilan spacecraft and that would fit the bill nicely.

I can also recommend the 1/72 Space 1999 Eagle. $25, a foot long and lots of conversion potential.

I don't know if I've got the stomach to build those classic kits anymore. Too spoiled on modern plastics.

Of course I do miss the days of fusing parts on backwards due to my inability to read Japanese and getting all sorts of high off the glue...

Still the lure of an actual transforming Mosepeda is quite tempting. Always wanted one as a kid!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

If I read it right this kit does not transform, you get 3 models one of each mode.

I had the toys as a kit, the red one was my alternate Jet Fire, the blue replaced Star Scream who had a pretty sucky toy to be honest.

Didn't have the green.

Looks like that to me too.

It's more of a kitbashing issue than I think this thread focuses on, but...

This came to my attention, someone converted it into a Star Trek shuttle.

But on its own it can serve as a futuristic transport for all sorts of games.

It's a flying car that breaks into two parts

1/25 scale so it'll be big.

How long does it take to go from a 'preview' to 'being able to buy' for Gundam stuff?

I'd love to pick up the new 1/144 Gouf Flight Type model...soon?

Looks like I need to buy two of that Star Trek kit so that I can have four nacelles to convert a four-nacelled Excelsior study model. As. A bonus, I can make both an out of scale B'rel and an out of scale K'voort! Sweet.

Depends, these big shows tend to show off a lot of things in one go, but I'd expect Q1 or 2 this year. The thing to watch out for is whether it's P Bandai or not, they're only sold in Japan and you'd need a third party buyer service to get it for you which can knock the price up by as much as half again.

I think this was mentioned earlier but it's now available. Halo gunship for $30.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0731WDL9D/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2

3 x 13 x 10.9 inches
The pilots are about a half inch so it sounds like it's about 1/72 so a bit small scale for 40k but useful as terrain etc.

Also a Warthog

https://www.amazon.com/Revell-Snaptite-Build-Warthog-Model/dp/B0731TZMJ4/ref=pd_sim_21_1

The figures are 3" so it's probably a bit too big for 40k without extensive conversion...

Some more Star Wars in varying scales and sizes but all of it cheap and easy to build. If you go to the Q&A section there's usually a size for the assembled model.

The Pelican and U-wing may not be suitable for 40k, but both are perfectly scaled for 15mm. I have the U-Wing and it isn't as big as the Pelican, so it makes a nice dropship if you have space constraints.

One poster estimated the U Wing was 1/100 scale so yeah small.

But it might pass as a 1 man fighter, it kind of looks like the old Chaos fliers. Or a crashed ship, or a conversion...

It does tempt me, if I didn't already have a mountain of shame...

I was building a Landing Bay board so bought a few boxes of the Battlestar Galactica Viper MK VII kits. They conveniently came two to a box and I liked them because they weren't immediately recognizable sci fi fighters.

I had hoped that, at 1/72 scale, they would be suitable but, to my picky eyes, they were just too small (almost like a kids playground ride toy next to a Primaris Marine). YMMV.
