The floors are like 12 feet tall, they basically merged two decks into one to allow ogres to stand inside. That's why the gun deck looks so comical with the portholes on the waterline and blank wall above.

I've used the previous terrain sets for Frostgrave, and plan the same for this one. I'm into it mostly for the terrain (and maybe some of the creatures) because I already have all the human models I need.

Pledge levels and costs- SSG start at the $179 Deckhand level.

Probably go for deckhand for the ship and get a few add ons - none of the core sets interest me this time.

Me backing at all will depend on SG and SSG, I'm not interested in a bucket of random fantasy NPCs and I've recently been reminded there's plenty of nice giant ships in STL.

After getting double prepainted mountain king pledges in the caves expansion, this looks to be the first pass for me. Their human sized figures are too small for my tastes.

For some reason, I was thinking there would be more terrain. I'd have thought at least we'd get a reworked cottage set with more solid walls and a pre-paint option.

I'd be surprised if more legacy prepaints aren't available as addons, so I could see the cottage show up there (fingers crossed for a prepainted Scales and Ales Tavern).

Did you get the World of Deuslair stuff? The changed scales from the Woodhaven. The minis are more Reaper sized now than the old tiny ones

Really? I'd never heard that. The Woodhaven stuff was like true scale 25mm, more like GW LOTR miniatures in scale than anything.

Not sure about this one.
I do like the terrain they have been doing but the miniatures at times just dont do it for me.
Will have to wait and see what each sets has and like others have said what the SG and SSG will be.

How good are the prepaints? For those of you that have gotten them, do you think the pre-paint on the ship will be worth it? Debating on Sailor level with pre-painted ship. Stretch pay makes it more palatable.

The ship is 16 unique sprues and 20 in total and it has cost $120,000 to develop and manufacture.

They are planning something almost Bal'or sized for the SSG - Bal'or cost $42,500 and was 2.5 months of design work and 2.5 months of tooling. Sprues cost around $1 each but that includes packaging and overhead costs.

Hope they do well with it,

but i think i'm priced out no matter how good the stretch goals are

(with the number of tools i get why it's priced as it is, i'd just have to have an actual planned use rather than just a general desire to own it )

I think the super stretch goals are what have done me in every time.

I don't ever really need any of it, but I'll be damned if the lure of more giant plastic kits doesn't end up swaying me to the dark side each and every time.

I may not be in need of a ship, but I do certainly enjoy painting random townsfolk, and these look to be a fun assortment so far.

Especially if they're a tad bit larger and more in line with modern fantasy tabletop figures.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Some really nice figures and terrain in this set.
It seems strange that there are no tables to go with the market stalls.
Not sure on the hanging items for the stalls.I can see why they have went that way though.Might be better to do them on ropes that attach to the stalls for aesthetic looks.Weapons racks would be another good option.More trade items would be nice to see to help give the market more variety as it seems a bit sparse at the moment.
It will be interesting to see what the other sets will include.

We'll consider it in the next campaign

Thanks!

Crunched some numbers!

Best price depends on if you want a second copy of the SGs + SSG vs 6 core sets

2 cores can be swapped for the ship:
* $99 : 1 core + SG
* $179 : 2 core + SG + SSG : $80 marginal cost for add'n core + SG + SSG
* $229 : 3 core + SG + SSG : $50 marginal cost for add'n core
* $279 : 4 core + SG + SSG : $50 marginal cost for add'n core
* $349 : 6 core + SG + SSG ; $70 marginal cost for 2 core

So marginal price ranges from $35 to $50 per core set.

Dunno if I'd equate the SG and SSG with the core sets, but...
$99 = 2 sets = $50 per set
$179 = 4 sets = $44.75 per set
$229 = 5 sets = $45.80 per set
$279 = 6 sets = $46.50 per set
$349 = 8 sets = $43.63 per set

* Two $179 pledges = $358 = 4 core + 2 SG + 2 SSG : Best price for multiple SG + SSG?
* One $279 pledges = $279 = 4 core + 1 SG + 1 SSG
= Marginal cost: $79 for 1 SG + 1 SSG

* Two $229 pledges = $458 = 6 core + 2 SG + 2 SSG
* One $279 pledge + One $179 pledge = $458 = 6 core + 2 SG + 2 SSG
* One $349 pledge = $349 = 6 core + 1 SG + 1 SSG
= Marginal cost: $109 for 1 SG + 1 SSG

* One $179 pledge = 2 core + SG + SSG
* One $349 pledge = 6 core + SG + SSG : Best price per core
= Marginal cost: $170 for 4 core sets = $42.50 per core

Prepainted ship: +$99
Transparent ghost ship: +$49

I'm actually more interested in a prepainted Wooden Cottage, Tudor House, Doors, and probably Roofs sets.
Would definitely like a pledge of 2 rooms + SG + SSG.

Didn't see the Crew core set, so stole this from the D&L fan FB group!

Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to provide pre-painted Tudor House and Roofs as they have elements that are made under such angles which makes pre-painting impossible (which really sucks as I think the set would sell really well). We will be including some other legacy pre-painted sets though

Did you get the World of Deuslair stuff? The changed scales from the Woodhaven. The minis are more Reaper sized now than the old tiny ones

I hadn't heard that, either. Does anyone have both that can provide comparison pics ? The original minis were much too tiny and, as much as I liked the designs, they just looked out of place on my table with my other miniatures.

I'd love to see comparison pics as well. I gave away my Woodhaven miniatures, they were just way too small for my collection.

they have a scale shot on the page with other brands. Though I don't know why they used a miniature with a tactical rock to increase it's height and used wizkids/GW miniatures from a different camera angle that makes them smaller.

Brilliant !! Thank you for that.

Like Gallahad, I got rid of my mini-minis.

Gotcha. I'm starting to think that Archon should have a crowdfunding project centered around prepaints!

Funny that you should mention that. We do have a secret pre-painted project that we're currently working on, but we haven't announced exactly what it is yet
