I began and almost finished a duck mini I promised to paint for one of the kids at my TT Skirmish game club, and I call him...Duckiavelli!



I started Duckiavelli and another knight Duck mini. I also painted the minis for my next Five Parsecs from Home Encounter and fought it. I was victorious, but I became quite...frustrated mostly due to forgetting some rules and forgetting Attelus can move 6 inches (or 8 by dashing instead of just moving) thought playing it'd help me remember the rules more, but alas, lol. I might post some photos of that game in the "Post Pic of Your Last Game Played" thread.

Finally finished up Some Dark Elf Repeater Crossbowmen. First Unit is done!

My plan is to get 1000pts done, I will focus on getting the Core units complete first. Next up will probably be the rest of a 25 man unit of spears but I have the option of doing a unit of Dark Riders or another 10 man unit of Crossbows. Haven't decided yet.

All based and magnetized on their movement tray. Painted rather simply, quick and dirty highlights but it got the job done.

Yesterday I glued ground-texture to the bases of my Reaper cemetery fences and gate, also added glue to some of the wall foundations to give the appearance of vegetation climbing them.

Primed the two Urbanmechs I got from box split with my friend and began blocking colors last night.

Tonite I plan to add some watered-down glue over the ground-texture to firmly secure it to the bases, then continue with the Urbies and other almost-finished mechs in my force.

Watching B movies on Amazon and building assorted minis & kits - some Eldar, some Bloodbowl, some misc non-GW fantasy & sci-fi.....

I did a lot more work on Duckiavelli and a Duck Knight, too. I had a ton of fun painting them!







I then decided I needed to find some minis to proxy for the Sand Runner creatures to fight against for my next Five Parsecs from Home Encounter, and I just couldn't find any. I don't have many non-humanoid minis, so as I was about to give up, I spotted my old box of Descent: Journeys in the Dark. Looked through that and found more than enough large spider minis to use. I then took seven (which I rolled), primed them Wraithbone and went over them with Casendora Yellow wash and one with red wash. Then, I played my next encounter, and while I was out of a crew member, the game was a big walkover for Not-Attelus and Company. It was fun. Now I'm on the fifth Campaign Turn and seriously now considering leaving the world they started on as now the crew have enough credits and are low enough on their ship loan not to worry about much. They're also a lot stronger too.

Wednesday today, so had the gaming club with the kids. They did some painting and played a quick game of Grimdark Future: Firefight one using his robot characters and a robot faction list I made for him. The other using his Ducks. It was ranged vs close combat, and it was close. The robots won because they had Fearless. I then got home and rolled up my next Five Parsecs from Home Campaign Turn and the Encounter. Would've liked to have played through it, but it was too late.

Didn't get to play my next Encounter of Five Parsecs from Home, but I began painting the antagonists of the fight. An eight-man "Brat Gang" who are sorta like the Necromundan nobles who go down into the underhive and hunt people. I rolled. They also fight alongside a "Hulker Brawler" that I'm using a cultist proxy mini from Proxy Wars to represent it. It was a corporate assignment, so I decided they'd been ambushing that corporation's convoys on the plant, killing the drivers and guards and taking the items. But now they've managed to get word of an attack while it was happening, so sent Attelus and his team to take care of it.

I also decided the Brat Gang had hired the Hulker Brawler for a mission years ago, but the Hulker Brawler stayed around after the completion of the mission and now, for all intents and purposes, runs the gang as the members of the Brat Gang are so terrified of him they now do their missions to gain money to get food to feed his insatiable appetite and whatever else he wants lol.

Was busy today, so didn't get around to playing the next Encounter of Five Parsecs from Home, but I did manage to finish the Brat Gang for the encounter finally. I tried to make them look gaudy to show they're spoiled, out-of-touch, horrible rich kids. But this morning, an idea hit me: paint them with horribly orange fake tans. I even painted the leader with light skin circling his eyes as he was the only mini whom I made helmetless. Next is the Cultist...I mean the Hulker Bruiser, lol. I'm running out of Stargrave minis; might have to buy more soon. They're great kits, simple to assemble and with nice details and all the arms from one kit can get glued to the torsos of another. Right now, I'm glueing rifles from the Scavenger's kit to the bodies from the Trooper's kit, which works perfectly.

My only problem is that the minis are only 25mm, and that's from the foot to the top of the head, which makes them seem minuscule compared to my other minis; this is exacerbated even more by their flat 25mm bases, but this is pretty cool as they're so small compared to the cultist mini it really emphasises the level of strength and power he has over them, lol.

I'll be finishing the assembly work on a trio of Wave Serpents this evening.

Have had 15 ardboyz lying around 2 years so time to paint up

Finished my 5th Campaign Turn of my five Parsecs from Home campaign last night; after finally finishing painting the enemies, it was pretty fun. Forgot the enemies had armour. But fate punished my huge faux pas by making my characters frig up; the Attelus-expy threw a grenade into a clump of five enemies and, despite hitting all of them, killed none of them. The odds of that were ridiculously low, lol. My Elandria-Expy also threw a grenade and only managed to take out two only because one had two stun points already. Still won, though.

I rolled up the next Campaign Turn, and, again, my Elandria Expy decided to be depressed (again), making me one crew member short. Then, when I roll up the Encounter, it turns out two of my remaining five are off the field, leaving only three, including Attelus, facing down six enemy renegade soldiers.

Also assembled some more terrain and a few Cultist Proxy minis that have been sitting around for ages.

Been pretty productive today. Didn't start my next Encounter for Five Parsecs, but I did assemble most of my Station Forge Cultists for my Chaos Army. It allowed me to glue a blade on a Cultist for my diorama finally (I bought 20, 10 for my diorama, Chaos Cultists, and 10 to use for gaming) that I hadn't glued onto it yet because I lost his axe and wasn't sure if I could give him another weapon. without compromising the ones for gaming, but it turned out I could, so I glued him onto the diorama after months of not doing it. so that feels a bit like an achievement.

I did more assembly of my Mantic Deadzone terrain and finally began assembling the Death Korp of Krieg minis from the first Kill Team box. I intend to use them as enemies in my next Five Parsecs From Home Encounter.

I finished assembling my Station Forge Cultists and assembled the needed number of 6 Death Korps of Krieg Kill Team minis (as well as three Station Forge not-Death Korps of Krieg minis that came with a tank I have yet to work on). I then primed them and another 40k ruined wall I bought from eBay, which I've finally decided I'm going to stick to my diorama and went over it with a black wash as well as a few bits of Mantic scatter terrain. I also started painting one of the Death Korps Veteran Troopers.

Today, somewhere in the cosmos, a few stars aligned correctly - inspiring me to paint minis.

This resulted in a 28mm scale ships boat & 1 small piece of jungle terrain getting painted.

This brings the total # of minis I've painted this year to..... 13.

Short pause on the Reaper Cemetery fencing and Battletech.

Instead I have been assembling two Tau Ghostkeels for a friend - very nice kits, fun to assemble.

One of each big-gun, with Burst Cannons on the hardpoints. Played around with a few extra bits to make the Sensor suites look upgraded.

Built up a Deathstrike as part of my crusade narrative, aptly named "Peacekeeper".

Wanted to bulk it out a bit so it's not just a "Chimera with a big rocket" so I did the following:

- Moved the launch platform back, the space underneath bulked out with halves of the Storm Eagle rockets. The space in front taken up by a weird panel piece which doesn't seem to fit in any of the Chimera-chassis kits.
- Cut up a dozer-blade to make a recoil-space.
- The missile itself is magnetised. If I can find suitable parts I'd like to add a Guardsman riding it, Major Kong-style.
- Third-party track guards.
- The Manticore targeter added to the chassis with extra cabling made from fuse wire.

Trying to put more work into finishing some Dark Elves....but ran out of spray paint and I was too lazy over the weekend to pick some up at the Hardware store.

Fortunately, I have a pile of base coated minis sitting in a pile I really should get out of the way. So Dark Elves shall wait until I have time later this week to pick up more hobby supplies.

The least fun part of the hobby... organizing. We recently sold six AoS armies and a 40k one... awesome for reclaiming space, but pulling it out to pack/mail/etc, means the normally organized room is a mess. We basically need to reorganize twenty armies worth of stuff to use the space more efficiently, and make room for new goodies!

Had the game day with the kids today, there, they painted some minis, and I played a game of Grimdark Future: Firefight with one of them. A game I won, I was incredibly lucky with my dice rolls, though. But we had fun.

I then painted more of my Death Korps of Krieg and did more work on my diorama of Attelus and Adelana of Secret War, ambushing some cultists.

I'm picking though the League of Votann Kill Team models. I'll be working out how many to just glue, or spend ages allowing for magnetising options. 2 gun options for every model, plus KT specialists.
Even I have limits.

Started work on some lumineth. About 2 years since i painted them. Got burned by the complex colour scheme I settled to.

Despite maybe, maybe having sunstroke due to my father and I working almost all day in the harsh sun today, so feeling like crap (the last time I had sunstroke as a kid was one of the worst times of my life. It was during the holidays, and I swam in a pool...a lot, so the sun reflected into my face, and I spent almost all the holidays in a cold sweat and vomiting my guts out. It was up there with a horrible flu I got after walking three kilometres through the worst storm in Wellington for 50 years in 2010 and got soaked through the bone because I was a student and had no money for the bus. Had very vivid fever dreams. I felt like I was dying, and after that, in 2011, I got the worst food poisoning that had me bed-bound for two weeks straight in a haze. Only leaving to go either ones or twos or both at the same time. Sorry about my rambling, lol). I'm pretty sure if this is sunstroke, it won't be as bad as my time having it as a kid. I still forced myself to work on my Death Korps of Krieg, managing to finish almost two and a bit of work on my diorama. Would post more photos for the blog, but right now, even that's too hard to do, lol. I hope all of my fellow DakkaDakkites are doing well out there!

Set up a hobby space in my flat. Not sure it'll be permanent but it'll do for now!

I've magnetized 4 complete WFB armies and am currently magnetizing my High Elves at work. Once done? Ashley's Lizardmen followed by my Skaven. From there it'll be a bit of a race to see who earns the right to be able to stick to movement trays. Or a steel lined CD in the case of Skirmishers...

Continue work on lumineth.

One side-effect of having to spend time with nieces at stables due to their horse riding hobby I have become unable to paint all horses same colour so 5 knights and non-horse riding leader got　6 different colours for mounts.

More lumineth painting. 5 days done, many more ahead...

Managed to finish up 2 Tyranids Warriors with Barbed Strangler. Didn't had any of those but now that we can have them in addition to Venom Cannon, I had to break some arms and re-arm a few models (thankfully I had some unpainted left).

Also did an extra base extension for my Pyro/Biovores. Had them all on 60mm, but got some 80mm to match the new size and magnetized them on top of those. Used some cork to help blend the bases together. Just waiting for an occasion to prime it, but we are getting into winter temperature here so it's getting too cold outside. Maybe if get one good sunny day I'll manage to get it primed.
