HMV, glad to stumble onto your blog and see what you've been up to over the last 6 months or so. Rat ogre is excellent, as is the marauder and that mino you were working on back when. The keeper is certainly interesting, though you may have lost me with the bone ridges and alien-ness of her, despite the strength of the design otherwise. Sadly I think the vermin lord falls short for me, something funky about the long arms, the awkward crotch area - I don't need demonic rat junk, but a loincloth maybe? or something? - and lack of any kind of weapon to represent the signature DOOMGLAIVE he's supposed to be rocking. Did I miss why it was done in red putty? That's kind of neat in itself.

As an aside, have you put anything into production that I can send you money for yet? I saw you weren't real thrilled with the mino production results, not sure if I've missed other designs you've finalized.

I've got another KoS "in neglige" sitting on my desk so she might be more up your alley when I'm finished with her. The so called Vermin Lord was just a test piece for new sculpting techniques and it kinda gravitated towards a Skavenesque feel with the ratlike head. I might get around to making a proper VL in the future, but I've got way to much on my schedule as it is, so it won't be soon.

Back with some orky wackiness. There's a demon sculpt coming too. Yes, I know everybody and their dog are doing greater demon sculpt these days. So what?

Oh, yeah, there's also a Nazi Vk modded trooper siting on my desk along with some reallllllly tiny Abrams tanks.

Caved in to the 50% off offer by Corvus Belli and bought the Aleph army pack. What fine miniatures these are, the detail is astounding. Of course me being me, I couldn't resist the temptations to make my own Maruts a bit more personal.

And yet another revival, this time with yet another iteration of a work-in-progress rat ogre sculpt.

Welcome back! That rat ogre looks awesome. I really like the pose you've achieved with him pouncing forward. He'd look quite terrifying with a bunch of cables and skaven-bits pertruding out of him. It's good to have you back, looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us!

Fantastic! As usual your musculature is spot on. And don't worry about leaving the thread quiet, I am pretty sure there are a ton of us waiting with baited breath for you next creation whether the updates are days or months apart

So the body is finished and I even managed to get a half decent looking rock texture on the base. I'll need to figure out what kind of Skaven gizmo to put on him now...

Sculpting phase finished. I went for a more old school look, without any visibly mechanical parts, but I'll probably make a more Skryre looking Rogre too in the near future.

Very nice, glad you didn't hide too much of the shape with bulky mechanical extensions

Thanks.

I have this bad boy undercoated and ready for some paint. Want to make him look like my girlfiend's late albino pet rat, only with more gore and less cuddly...

I've run into some troubles with the color scheme I've chosen for the RatOgre so he's on the waiting list for now. In the mean time, after playing the Space Marine demo, my love for orks has been reinvigorated and I decided to do a test paint scheme for my future sculpting projects.

Just a quickie to test out some idea for flesh and armor tones. I think I'll stick with the white markings and gray green armor. It would be a nice break from the usual garish colors orks are known for.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

The detail is amazing, but he needs some sort of color. He is just kind of generic ork at the moment, I'd love to see you take on one of the clans colors.

Longtime Dakkanaut

Yeah, but that was kind of the point really. I don't particularly like most clan color combinations for painting, maybe with the exception of Bad Moon and Evil Suns, so I tried to paint the colors I liked instead. I've got a bunch more of those half converted orks so I'll probably come up with some variations. In the mean time, have a Sniktch.

All I can say is thank God for Finecast.

I kinda messed up the rogre and made him uncastable. Won't make the same mistake again.

Okay, here's a WIP of my first Space Marine (the computer game) style Nob. I've made sure to biggerize him enough to do the game (and lore) justice. While I like GW Nobz, especially the ones made by Nelson, I think they're short selling the ork race as a whole by not playing the bigger=better route. I'd love to see those Warbosses the size of a Dreadnought we read about in the fluff but never actually get in miniature form. In fact, I'd love to see one so much, I'll probably make one myself.

I just went through your gallery after seeing an image of yours on the main-page autoblog....

Your work is masterful and humbling my friend. Your sculpting skill is evident for anyone to see... But your design sense and aethetics, not to mention mastery of proportion and anatomy are things that take someone from being a great sculptor to a true artist.

I salute you sir, and will be eagerly awaiting more of your work -
