The Mark VII armour made its first battlefield appearance circa the Siege of Terra. The prototypes and blueprints were taken to Terra shortly before the fall of Mars. I think the Blood Angels were the first to field Mark VII, during the Siege.

Well, didn't know that. In any case, I want to do the early mars properly before returning to mk7 to fix some of the issues. It's a new experience for me, so it's going to be a little hit and miss for a while.
