You can buy the legs individually and its only 57 bucks us cash and just slap a dread torso on the fron instead of the cab and bada bing a huge terrifying monster dreadnought of the myrmidon class

http://shop.ramshacklegames.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=6&products_id=25

or for treads

Killdozer! Thats awesome. I really like that idea but I think the legs make it look a little like a chaos dread.

AYE Mr.nids and the followers and contributers to the origin thread ill be returning in earnest with sketches soon i promise.. Ive been diddling around and Mr.Nids would you like them posted on here or on the other thread or both...anyone wanna be a marine for the shields or does anyone wanna see the shields space base what do you want illustrated..i feel like a hi-jacker..........and to add to the current Dread development what about a pre-heresy dreadnought it has longs legs and it looks like it could run i mean its shaped like me and i can move at a decent pace even found a tut for you also

http://www.underthecouch.net/workshop/pre-heresy-era-space-marine-dreadnought-conversion/

and delving a bit deeper turns out this model was made by insaniak for alpharius what a small world

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/245189.page

Oh yeah, thanks by the way! I'm also planning on working on some rules (ie FANDEX) as I've already got one codex under my belt.. watch this space.

Slightly revised front cover.. not a great deal of difference. Oh well. Tell me what y'all think of it.

Also, I can't help but notice that Vignoris based most of his drawings on Red Scorpion models - some of which I will hopefully use to convert some Emperor's Shields or, more likely, Paragons of Faith.

Why thank you.

Also, consider your thread hijacked anyway. I'll start working on some rules hopefully.. tomorrow, methinks. Already got a few idea's.. hehehe... (so much for doing homework today.. groannnnnn ).

C'mon people, this project will be doomed to wtf if I'm the only one left to carry it.. No, not sure I quite understand that either.

EDIT: Off-topic, but Vignor, I'd really enjoy learning to draw like you. Not that that'd be at all easy considering I'm the worlds worst art-class student.. but either way, maybe you could set up a tutorial thread or something?

@Void- As long as I can still post wips ocassionally on my thread I don't mind it jacked

@Ash- The basic idea for this chapter was something I've wanted to do for a long time but it has taken on a life of its own amongst some loyal dakkaites. Without the help of these guys here and the same guys plus a handfull more on the fluff thread I would never be able to find the ambition to keep working on it. Between the neverending supply of ideas and Vig's amazing art I am never at a loss for help. Long story short Ash, feel free to help any way you want.

Well I'll be damned. I've just figured out how Vig draws his stuff. Now tell me if I'm right here, Vig, but did you print out images of Forgeworld Red Scorpions, trace for the most part and then add your own touches (like the Shields' iconography)?

Might have to try me some of that..

There basically red scorpions yes ive got to use a model but trace no i didn't......cause i cant draw an accurate space marine out the top of my head but i love the cover hehehe
im drawing a primarch and a pre heresy dreads....and i think the MK IV MAXIMUS ARMOUR fits the shields very very very well

I am going to pick some of those up for sure. If for no other reason than the heads. I did check out all of the links on the dreads and I might have a lead on an OOOOLLLDD Dread. Also I have decided that I am going to have at least 3 dreads for this army.

I would really like to post pics of my updates but somehow the wifes camera has mysteriously sprouted legs and walked away... I have managed to get a new "hand" made for one of the dreads and I'm still working on the treads for the other. I hope to have a new camera soon as well as another AoBR dread to cut up and turn into scraps.
